not to be a terrible person but lmao imagine this clizzy au where:

clary and isabelle are like childhood best friends right? like solid friends even thru school when they were in separate classes etc. and like they’ve both come out as sapphic to the other and its good. they do all the cute childhood things like they sneaked into each other houses after curfew, they laid on the grass and talked they climbed to izzy’s house roofs and stared at the stars. and like they put flowers in each others hair and said the gayest shit to one another. izzy modeled for clary and they helped each other out and having really deep eye contact and it was a solid life. it was good and they grew up and went to college (granted separate schools but they talked) after graduation izzy landed a job as a scientist and clary was rising as an artist and they were still best friends. and like they had small fights as kids but nothing that lasted permanently yknow?

anyways cut to after college maybe a few years later like early 30s or late 20s idk whenever people start thinking abt this shit -- clary proposes. and i’m not talking quiet proposal im talking they went out to dinner and clary treated her to the best and she takes izzy outside the place. and hell it even starts raining right?? like we can assume the restaurant is playing nice romantic music and theres a soft drizzle and clary gets down on knee and she in the quietest possible voice asks “will you marry me”

and izzy just stands there mouth slightly agap and her heart in her mouth she shakes her head ‘no’. and with tears in her eyes she tells clary that shes already engaged to someone else her mother planned it out and she couldn’t bear to tell anyone and ‘i’m sorry’ and her heart broke confessing all of this quietly. and with her heart trapped, tears flowing down her cheek she walks away leaving clary in the rain
