opinion on true love.  Hahaha OOH BOI- If asked she’ll give the questioner a blank look and tell them love is just a chemical reaction produced by the human brain to encourage them to fuck and procreate. Though that doesn’t explain why she, a creature who cannot procreate (Well, she can by sharing her blood but you know what I mean) can still feel it but she doesn’t want to talk about it, she does not like this line of questioning. 

opinion on love at first sight.  Attraction at first sight, yes, people are hot, but love... Eh, we all know her thoughts on this by now, yes?

how ‘romantic’ are they ?  Huh. Wouldn’t you guess it, she’s more experienced with hookups and friends with benefits type relationships than actual romantic ones and she... can actually get kinda flustered by actual romance. In theory, she knows what to do, in practice... Internal screaming all the way. 

ideal physical traits. She likes people taller than her!!!! Not that that’s a difficult thing to find lbr Bonus points if they can pick her up a lot!!!

ideal personality traits.   Someone who can listen to her ramble on for hours and hours is always appreciated, though she likes it when they have their own interesting facts and stories to share. If she thinks you’re boring... It’s a no go.

Even if we take the "age gap/creepiness factor" out of Luke/Annabeth pairing, it still sucks. The thing that made Luke resist Kronos was being remembered of the promise he made for Annabeth (giving her a family, being a big brother to her),and Luke having a crush would be meaningless. Rick took the romantic idea out of his ass(because it's shit). Besides, who still likes love triangles?

- Luke being portrayed as Annabeth’s big brother was enough. This forced upon romance makes his sacrifice, his own fucking suicide, weirder and somewhat lesser? As if it’s a somehow rushed in fucked up version of Romeo & Juliet? Creepy to the max. And uhm… We saw Annabeth and Percy developing feelings for each other in the past four books. So thank u… next

- In the Ancient Greek world there were four types of love: Agape (love reserved for god(s)), Eros (romantic love), Philios (friendship) and Storge (family). Philios and storge were absolutely enough. No need to add in another type of love out of nowhere. Yes, Annabeth had a crush on him that (luckily) passed so philios and storge was all that remained. This decision with that crush on a 16-year old teenage girl is so damn weird. Like what.

- I mean it’s okay to balance out the Annabeth/Percy/Rachel triangle but please…. Not with an adult for fuck’s sake. And yes, these triangles were more than unnecessary. Perhaps Riordan was in his twilight phase at that point in time?? Who knows…

- Tbh… Riordan’s fatal flaw is: his own forgetfulness. I don’t know how he works and I’m pretty sure he works like a beast and regrets getting that 360 deal at Disney because he’s forced to half-ass a book out annually (HOO (and partially TOA) is a mess. That’s what the Bible said). But this dude doesn’t know what timelines are, what continuity is, nor his own damn lore! Yes, his ripped-off built up world is massive but he doesn’t have his own catalogue with all of the details of his books saved somewhere? Shit, he could do the J.K. Rowling route and just look everything up on the damn wiki! He has thousands of people doing the dirty work for him for free!

- Remember people: Riordan isn’t one of us. He is the mind behind this world but he isn’t a book nerd that has his favorite quote or does analysis of every sentence like some blogs do. I fucking guarantee you people, he simply forgot Luke’s age. He probably saw that everyone is somewhat similar in age (Annabeth, Percy, Grover appearance-wise, Nico, Thalia, Clarisse, Beckendorf, The Stolls, etc.), that everyone is a teenager and he forgot that Luke was already seventeen and an almost adult in The Lightning Thief/In his twenties by The Last Olympian. He just concluded that and yikes. I mean... wasn’t he a teacher?? So he should KNOW that Annabeth/Luke is fucked up.

- Tbh this forced on romance in the last minute kind of foreshadows the catastrophe that bestowed us the Heroes of Olympus saga. Whilst PJO was character and plot driven, HOO dived into fan requests and romance. And the result ain’t pretty. Every time Riordan sits his ass down to work on a new book I automatically think

let me just say that it fits our favourite vampire gal to a T, but for whatever reason there was a time when I hadn’t realised there was an ‘x’ between each word and I’d been tagging you wrong in our threads for about a month or so. LISTEN, she’s lovely, and you convey her quirks and behaviours so well through writing, Clarisse is just an incredibly charming character to me. I really enjoy her curiosity and sort of childish mannerisms despite how old she may be, her snark, all the adorable moments when she tries to act all slick only to then trip over a tree root the very next second. not to mention she’s got her dark facets as well, I know we haven’t delved much at all into the wonderful lore you’ve built for her but tbh, with the amount of threads we’ve got, another one that builds up to that seriously wouldn’t hurt.

silvie ! we’ve been chatting for a while now, every now and again, and it’s always a joy to see you in my IMs. I honestly don’t remember who followed who first, I may be in my twenties but I guess uni is frying my brain and my memory isn’t doing so well, lmfao. I really don’t know how you put up with my sporadic activity, I myself get stressed just thinking about it, but know that you’re one of my most cherished mutuals and after that one long hiatus that I took last summer, coming back to see you’re still active had me smiling the whole damn day. I hope we’ll get to keep in touch for a long, long time !

I’ve been thinking about it, you know. as it is now, in the main historical verse, I’m enjoying their dynamic a lot, this budding friendship mixed together with their conflicting identities, the two of them simultaneously both hunter and prey—adds that little tidbit of drama I love but unfortunately it’s really holding Horia back from being fully himself like in all of his good friendships. he isn’t the most tolerant person and that clashes a lot with how charming and fun he finds her, can’t be caught having a good time with the enemy or else it’s a big yikes ( I say it like it’s a joke, but he runs the risk of actually being punished ). excitedly waiting to see where this takes us. 👀
