I swear I didn’t mean to do all of these posts today but I needed to keep my mind busy. Valentines Day isn’t the real celebration today, it’s actually the 30th anniversary of The Silence of the Lambs movie being released. Has there ever been a more appropriate Valentines movie? I really feel that SoL captures the essence of the book and especially of Clarice. Kick ass female characters are my thing and Clarice is definitely in my top five. 
Several people have asked me if I’m going to be watching the tv show Clarice when it airs in the U.K. and no I will not be watching for several reasons. As many of you know the show Hannibal is extremely important to me and will forever have a special place in my heart. I was very excited when I heard that there would be a Clarice tv show and had planned to watch right up until I saw an interview where the show runner was very insulting about Hannibal. I then read the reviews and talked with some friends who did watch it and that confirmed my decision. Clarice Starling is one of my favourite characters and i will not be watching a show that disempowers her and is so disrespectful to the source material. Instead I will be watching Silence of the Lambs tonight and reading the book for the millionth time. This will also be my pick for Maryland in the challenge #50states50horrorbooks

My sister watched “Silence of the Lambs” (before me, can you believe it??? Nah, I’m excited for her.)! So I drew her this for her birthday. I was inspired by a Pokémon fanart I saw and really wanted to do this. (Yes, I switched the colours, but like Hannibal’s aesthetic is totally pink okay).

The Dad-daughter date is on like Donkey Kong. Thank you, @alamocville. I’ve missed you. The last time I saw this in the theater was on campus in undergrad at @ncstate. NCSU had a small theater where they showed just-ran movies for a buck for us broke college students. They also had a little restaurant called Special Edition, where for a reservation, you could, on a Thursday evening, use your dining card to have a steak dinner date. My best friend Joshua and I went to Special Edition, then to Silence. I know I say this about quite literally every single show I watch but...Hannibal is good but it would be better with less forced heterosexual bullshit romances, more interaction among female characters, & more dialogue that sounds like actual humans as opposed to literature students on a college discussion board
