i feel like how hard i went on this gives it this really weird vibe but it's too late im not changing it, it slaps

i remembered wilnoel got some good shit in wilardo's ending and added that

once again clarifying i didn't include ships involving tiara because nobody knew about her before therefore shippers between her and other charas could not "win" when the game came out

Summary: Invective manages to be able to sleep in the same room with Claire Elford. It’s just to make sure her future body is okay, of course. She forgets the sleeping bag Ashe Bradley for some reason had, but they can make do with the bed. Word Count: 1,139 Warning: Slight Wilardo's Conclusion Spoilers A/N: I want a specific fic to be my last fanfic of the 2024 but I also want to post this here so take Clairevective and I'll have my last fanfic of 2024 posted tomorrow. My new year's resolution for 2025 is to almost if not entirely finish one of my longfics so not a lot of one shots I'll be posting here. I have a lot of old one shots I'll debate about crossposting here though. Anyway, don't forget your daily clicks!

you’re warm. almost too warm.

Invective couldn’t ignore all the issues that came with possessing Ashe Bradley’s body, even if she wanted to. It was so inconvenient controlling a man’s body—realizing that she now had that thing between her legs only when she actually saw it traumatized her—but the biggest issue was not possessing Claire Elford’s body. She still didn’t understand too much why her plan failed, but she wasn’t happy about it. The most she could do, unfortunately, was adjusting as well as she could.

One of those ways was to make sure her future body would be good when it was her time to take it. One of those ways was to be with Claire at all times and watch to make sure she treated herself correctly. Wilardo Adler was terribly annoying about it, always inserting himself into her and Claire’s private matters. Truly, it was none of his business what they did, but he kept following them.

Fortunately, she had managed to convince Claire to sleep in her bedroom together without Wilardo. Wilardo, she didn’t even begin to attempt to convince, as she already knew he would do everything to interrupt them. Finally, in the bedroom, there was peace from Wilardo’s annoying presence.

“By the way,” Claire said, “do you have something to sleep with? There’s only one bed here.”

“Of course. This man brought a sleeping bag here, for whatever reason.” Invective checked over herself before the realization hit her. “Oh. I forgot it in his room.”

“Do you want to go get it?” Claire asked.

She sighed. “If Wilardo sees me, I won’t be able to sleep with you, for whatever reason.”

“Umm… Why do you want to sleep here?”

“Isn’t it obvious?” She gestured around them. “I used to stay in this room, so of course I want to stay here, and I need to make sure you’re okay.”

“Is that why you said we should take a bath together?”

She smiled. “Correct! You’re smarter than I thought.”

“Thanks…? A-Anyway,” she said, “there’s only one bed, so if you don’t have something to sleep on…”

“We’ll make do by sleeping on the same bed!”

“You can just rush to that conclusion!” Claire exclaimed, her face flushing a light pink.

“Why not?” Invective asked. “We’re both girls, aren’t we?”

“You’re in a man’s body—”

“Forget about that,” she interrupted, rolling her eyes. “I’m still a girl.”

“S-Still, even if you are a girl, it’s…it’s still weird sharing a bed with someone…”

She shrugged. “You can always sleep on the ground if it’s too uncomfortable for you.”

“But this is my room…”

“And I stayed here first. What is your point?”

Claire frowned, her eyebrows furrowed together. She stayed silent for a little while before sighing, her shoulders relaxing. “If it’s just for tonight…then okay.”

Invective smiled. Sleeping together shouldn’t be a hard thing. After all, she told Claire how they were going to be together like this for 50 years. It wasn’t too likely that they would never have another situation like this. She was sure Claire would warm up to the idea after a few years.

Invective never knew how warm human bodies were until today.

It was strange. She used to be a human, but that was many years ago, so how a human body felt against her own had drifted from memory. She couldn’t feel if Ashe’s body had any warmth from controlling it, and she hadn’t touched anyone in Ashe’s body yet. This was her first time.

Whoever replaced her bed with a smaller one made a terrible choice. Not only was the bed ugly, but it caused her to be close to Claire. Claire laid on her side facing towards her. In the silence, Invective watched Claire, her blue hair resting on the pillow and her slow, steady breathing. She pressed against the side of Ashe’s body—against Invective’s side—and her warmth could be felt through the clothes they wore.

Invective hadn’t had any time to check if Ashe had any clothes to sleep in. When she asked Claire if she had any, Claire said she was only in this mansion by accident and thus didn’t have any sleepwear. Her tank top of shorts didn’t look comfortable to sleep in, so she offered to help her find more comfortable clothes later and help her change into them. She didn’t understand why Claire proceeded to give her a weird look. If her body lived in comfort, then it would feel better when she finally possessed it.

In the darkness of the room, Invective found out that clothes had changed more than she thought since she was alive. The main thing she learned was that the fabric was thinner. It could feel like the person pressed against them was wearing nothing.

It felt odd being beside her. Claire’s body felt like it was burning against her, trying to eat her up. If she moved away, she would be able to get rid of that sensation, basking herself in the coolness of the night where no warmth could find her.

Yet, she also felt a sort of draw to her warmth. It felt safe, somehow—comforting, even. It reminded her of being alive, before that woman threw acid onto her face. Back when everything felt safe and right, where nothing evil could happen to her. If she closed her eyes, it might be possible to imagine herself back in that time or at least something similar.

Looking at Claire’s face for so long made Invective realize there was a strand of hair laying on her face. It bothered her, so she pushed it back as gentile as she could. Her skin felt soft. Claire was pretty, of course. Once the body was hers, Invective could look pretty as well. She wouldn’t be the kind of pretty she was before, but a different kind.

That wasn’t going to happen soon, however. They still had 50 years like this together. Time had no meaning as a demon, but it would have to mean something if she was going to be trapped in Ashe’s body. It felt too uncomfortable to lay straight on her back, so she turned her body to face Claire. She already had her one hand touching her face, so she moved her hand to wrap around her body, keeping her close. She wasn’t a stranger to the knowledge of how many times Claire had died, so as long as she was there, she should live long enough to at least leave the cabin.

That was all Invective could do while she was awake for now. Human bodies needed sleep, as annoying as it was, so the only other option was to sleep. Claire felt comfortable to have in her arms, so sleep shouldn’t be too hard.

You know the homophobic dog picture that has the text, I know what you are? That was me whenever Invective showed up in Wilardo’s Conclusion because I swear, she didn’t like girls (specifically Claire) this much in Wilardo’s Route. There’s probably a hetero explanation but I’m choosing to ignore it. Thank you, IZ, for creating sapphics. I like Sirius’s Conclusion more than Wilardo’s but Inveclaire made Wilardo’s Conclusion really good.
