#cityStrikers since coming together to play in the @chelseapiers Winter competitive rec league, our boys have played up as much as 2 age brackets in prior winter seasons in an attempt to keep things reasonably competitive and to give the other teams a chance, albeit for naught in some cases; The indoor soccer games at the Field House are always 4-on-4 plus the goalies. Yesterday, due to scheduling conflicts and whatever, our boys decided to play with whom they had, down a man, 3-on-4 with goalies. Down for about the whole game, 1-0, 5-2, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5, and 8-5 with 5 minutes left, our boys, down a man, without subs, and without rest outside of the halftime break, managed to claw and fight their way back to a 9-9 draw. against a team, up a man all game on the field, utilizing rested subs throughout the game; I ended up missing the game, but can imagine the chaos that they endured, as well as the havoc they managed to wreak on the other team; I’m also sure the other team should be wondering how they managed to stay in single digits. PS one of our boys doesn’t play anymore. (at Chelsea Piers Field House)
