Meet the Cast : Robin

Robin 'Lucian' Silverflare is one of the main characters of City Chronicles.

He's a 16 year old wizard that formally lived in the state of Alaska before going on the run and eventually moving to Avant City located in New Jersey.

As a wizard, he has access to magic and his element is Light. Wizards can only use their wands but for some strange reason Robin can use magic without the use of his wand. His closest friend and other half is Al the snake. The two of them have been inseparable ever since Robin was 10 years old.

Robin's a bit of a prickly character but he's got a good heart deep down, it just takes the right person to bring it out. He cares for others but sometimes has trouble showing it. Robin is often snarky but he as a certain charm.

He wants a peaceful life with no more tragedies but fate seems to always have other plans for him.

I have fun with these as I take it as a little art experiment to push me out of what I'm used to drawing. I also like drawing scenes.

'Tinsel Troubles'

The snow was slowly fluttering down to the ground and Sam stared through the window at it in wonder. It was amazing to be able to see the snow fall without feeling the bitterness of the cold. He would be able to stretch his wings out and not have them cramped up all season.

Turning away from the window, Sam looked at his two friends who were at the bottom of a pine tree that Willa had brought indoors. Aster was tied up in a long, thick, shiny fluffy string while Alex was attempting to untangle her but given the younger teen was also attempting to reach a box full of shiny objects, it wasn't going anywhere.

"Why are you trying to decorate a pine tree?" the young gargoyle questioned. The two girls looked over at him, previously engrossed with their predicament. 

"We're helping Willa decorate for Christmas? We'll trying to anyway, if Aster would let me get her out of this tinsel" Alex commented before glancing over at the younger teen.

Aster rolled her eyes in annoyance. "It's going to take forever to untangle me from this tinsel so we might as well start decorating the tree."

"We need the tinsel to decorate so if you could just let me get it off" Alex barked back.

As the two girls began to argue again, Sam couldn't help but sigh. But something Alex had said came to the forefront of his mind.

"What is 'Christmas'?"

Aster and Alex ceased their arguing and stared at the young gargoyle with looks of surprise.

"You… you don't know what Christmas is?" Aster questioned, looking much more surprised than Alex.

Sam tilted his head in confusion. "Should I know what it is? I've heard people mention it in passing but I don't know what it is or why people are so excited to celebrate it"

After a moment of silence, Aster managed to get herself out of her tinsel trap and rushed over to Sam with her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Oh we're going to teach you everything wonderful about Christmas. It's amazing. There's snowmen, christmas carols, presents-"

"Let's calm down a little shall we," Alex cut in, stopping Aster's rambles before they got too far, "How about we start at the beginning, ease him into it"

Aster beamed at Alex then beamed at Sam who felt slightly worried. The two girls guided Sam over to the steps leading out the room and sat him down while they sat in front of him.

"So…" Aster began. "Christmas is a tradition started back way long ago but the more modern version started because of this guy called Jesus-"

"Who may or may not have actually existed." Alex added on.

"-was born a few thousand years ago and people celebrated his birth. Eventually that evolved over the years and the more modern version is people celebrating the winter season and giving each other gifts and enjoying each other's company. It's called a lot of things in a lot of places but here we call it Christmas."

"Back in my day, we used to call it Yule or Winter's Blessing"

All three teens jumped in surprise when Willa spoke up, looking over to where the older wizard was perched in her usual chair in the corner, sipping a cup of tea and reading a book.

"It's a lovely holiday but overrated in my opinion. Too much yapping about presents and spoilt kids whining about not getting what they want." Willa continued, taking a sip of her tea. She gave Sam a warm glance and a smile "I'm surprised you never celebrated Winter's blessing. Did you or Nau never have time for it?"

Sam's heart deflated slightly at the mention of his brother's name but he quickly shook it off. "I don't remember ever doing anything. Whenever winter came we just tried our best to get through it. Also other… things got in the way of probably celebrating it. Is it something I should start being interested in?"

Aster put an arm around him and smiled enthusiastically. "Yes. Like I said, Christmas is amazing. Oh something I forgot to mention is Santa, he's a big part of Christmas nowadays. He's the one that delivers presents to families all around the world. And you gotta make sure you've been good otherwise you'll get coal instead."

A scoff escaped Alex as she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Don't tell me you still believe in Santa. Everyone knows he's just a fairy tale to tell little kids"

The younger teen stood up, faking offence. "Not real? Of course he's real. He brings the spirit of Christmas joy and also presents"

"No-one's ever seen him so he doesn't exists" Alex argued.

"But if no-one's ever seen him then that means he could be real" Aster rebutted.

As the two girls began to argue again, Sam and Willa let out sighs of defeat. The older wizard went back to her book while Sam stared out the window at the glistening world outside. It seemed the snow had finally stopped falling and now the courtyard outside was covered in a white wonderland. An idea quickly presented itself to Sam.

"Hey. How about we go outside? I've never gotten to go outside and play in the snow before and maybe you could teach me some 'Christmas tradition' that I should know." he proposed, hoping that would bring the two younger teens out of their squabble. Alex and Aster looked at each other with a slight glare before wide smiles plastered their faces and they descended upon Sam, dragging him outside and into the frosty outdoors. CC Team-up Posters Redesign

Back again with more poster redesigns as I was not happy with the originals, so had to spruce them up a little.

With these done I should be able to finish the latest story and publish it by at least Christmas or the end of the month.

For a while I haven't been happy with the original posters for the first four stories of City Chronicles (and it has been two years since I made them). So I decided to redesign them.

I also plan to redo three more story posters but they will come at a later point.

Meet the Cast : Andy

Andy 'Ethan' Sokasi is one of the main characters of City Chronicles.

He's a 14 year old human that formally lived in Greece before an incident caused him and his sister to now live in Avant City located in New Jersey. He lives with his twin sister Alex and their guardian/godfather Damien.

Andy started out like a regular old human but due to an incident, he obtained the ability to transform into what he dubs his 'chimera form' and hero identity called 'Mysticent'. He has many abilities in this form but not limited to flight, enhanced strength and fire breath.

Andy is a laid-back character, preferring to keep to himself and not make a fuss of things. He's a deeply kind character, finding it hard to not help out when someone is troubled or in danger. Andy is a bit shy and usually doesn't go out of his way to draw attention to himself unless it's for his friends and family; but he isn't above being a bit sarcastic and rough when he needs to be. He enjoys cooking quite a bit and is quite good at it; also enjoying reading and playing video games, a trait he shares with his sister Alex. He and Alex are almost like two halves of the same whole, being quite in sync.

Andy would prefer to keep to the background and not be in the spotlight but fate seems to find a way to drag him into the center of things.

Meet the Cast : Alex

Alex 'Anders' Sokasi is one of the main characters of City Chronicles.

She's a 14 year old human that formally lived in Greece before an incident caused her and her brother to now live in Avant City located in New Jersey. She lives with her twin brother Andy and their guardian/godfather Damien.

Alex started out as a regular old human but due to an incident, she obtained the ability to transform into what she dubs her 'chimera form' and hero identity called 'Scorobat'. She has many abilities in this form but not limited to enhanced strength, flight and a sonic screech.

Alex is a headstrong character, quite quick to turn to anger and to snap at people that annoy her; Despite that, she is kind and cares deeply about her friends and family and will do anything to keep them safe, anything. Alex is quite strong in her human form and loves to do physical activities like sports and running but also enjoys playing video games with her brother. She and Andy are quite in sync with each other, almost being two halves of the same whole.

All Alex wants to do is keep her friends and family safe and away from danger but fate seems to always be throwing threats her way. (Artwork by me)

Meet the Cast : Aster

Aster Cantero is one of the main characters of City Chronicles.

She's a 13 year old human who originates from Avant City located in the state of New Jersey. She comes from American and Spanish ancestry. Aster lives with her twin older brothers Joseph and Jamie, her mother Natalia and her father Abril.

She originally started out as full blooded human but after getting bitten by a strange blue cat she began to develop some strange powers. Her abilities mostly consist of elasticity but she also has enhanced senses like hearing and even can sense when danger is nearby (like spidey sense but not spidey sense). A drawback to her powers is she needs to take in a lot of food to keep up her energy but that's not a big problem when her family is happy to help her in her hero activities.

Aster is a lively character that loves to make friends and generally has a positive outlook on life. She is quite kind and cannot turn away when someone is in danger or hurt. Despite being young, Aster is quite skilled with technology and can use it many different ways, like the technology in her superhero suit. Her abuelo Kane helped make her suit and was a big part of her life, supporting her hero activities when others did not.

Aster uses her abilities to protect her city and stop any bad guys she comes across. This superhero persona is called Flexline. As part of her powers she can communicate with cats and has collected a somewhat small following of strays who she absolutely adore. She adores her new friends and loves finding out anything she can about magic and chimeras the world of the unknown. She tries to stay happy and helpful but sometimes she can't help but let the negative thoughts in.

Despite everything, Aster is determined to not let fate get in her way no matter what it throws her way. (Artwork by me)

Meet the Cast : Sam

Sam is one of the main characters of City Chronicles.

He's a 17 year old gargoyle that formally lived in the past but after an incident he found himself in the modern day. He lives with his former best friend Willa and his current best friend Robin.

As a gargoyle, he has access to magic (Nature magic) and he's quite skilled in his craft; plus he enjoys practicing it. Due to being the runt of his family, Sam didn't meet his life milestones when he should've and forces against him caused him to get cursed to become a bloodthirsty monster when his negative emotions act up.

Sam is quite a timid character and a kind soul, preferring to keep to himself and not speak up but will help out those in need. He has a giant heart and loves being around his friends and is desperate to not loose them like he's lost others. He's good at keeping his negative emotions under check to not loose control but sometimes those emotions build and build and eventually burst. Being in his human disguise helps bury the emotions and forget who he truly is.

All Sam wants is to live his life and without more blood on his hands but fate always has a way of spinning things back onto him.
