Hello Everyone! I’m excited to share that I am part of the #CityArtistCorps! This award was created to activate and energize New York City’s artists and engage the public with arts activities this summer and fall. Thank you for being part of my creative journey, and thanks to New York Foundation for the Arts, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, and Queens Theatre for the support! This will finally give me a chance to deliver the musical/reading extravaganza The Run and Hide: A Thrill Ride of Storytelling and Music that was scheduled at Queens Public Library in March 2020 but was canceled due to the pandemic and resultant lockdown. This award has given me the chance to revive it IN THE NYC SUBWAY! I am partnering with NHL’s Hall of Fame Fiddler Greg Holt, his band The Crossroads and the MTA’s Music Under New York program to deliver this unique and dynamic literary and musical experience in the 14th Street-Union Square Subway on Sunday September 19, 2021 @ 6PM. One of my creations on my head 🌺… I made 5 of these flowers by hand with different materials, foam, metallic fabric/vinyl-ish stuff, and heavy card stock paper to be apart of the set design for my BIG show in Oct 2021 made possible by #CityArtistCorpsGrant and @nyculture. Now open through Tuesday, July 20: Cycle 2 of the City Artist Corps Grants program, offered by NYFA and New York City Department of Cultural Affairs with support from NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment as well as Queens Theatre. The program is funded by the $25 million New York City Artist Corps recovery initiative announced by NYC Mayor's Office and DCLA earlier this year, and will distribute one-time $5,000 grants to 3,000+ artists who will engage the public with arts activities across New York City’s five boroughs.
