Why is Information Systems Security Important?
Information Systems Security (ISS) is vital in today's digital age where information is a valuable asset for individuals and organizations alike. As more and more information is stored and transmitted electronically, the need to protect it from unauthorized access, use, and disclosure is critical. In this blog, we will explore why Information Systems Security is important and the consequences of failing to implement effective security measures.
Firstly, Information Systems Security is important because it ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. Confidentiality means that only authorized individuals can access sensitive information. Integrity means that the information is accurate and has not been modified or tampered with. Availability means that the information is accessible when needed. These three elements are critical for the proper functioning of any organization, and failure to protect them can result in significant harm.  By obtaining the CISSP Certification, you can advance your career in the field of the CISSP. With this course, you can demonstrate your expertise in working in the CISSP and validates your extensive technical and managerial expertise as an information security specialist, enabling you to proficiently create, implement, and many more key concepts among others.
Secondly, Information Systems Security is important because it protects against financial losses. Security breaches can result in financial losses for businesses, ranging from the direct costs of repairing and replacing damaged systems to the indirect costs of lost revenue and reputation damage. These losses can be devastating for small businesses and can even lead to bankruptcy in extreme cases.
Thirdly, Information Systems Security is important because it protects against legal consequences. Organizations have legal and regulatory obligations to protect certain types of information, such as personal data, health information, and financial information. Failure to protect this information can result in legal penalties, fines, and even criminal charges.
Fourthly, Information Systems Security is important because it protects against reputational damage. A security breach can damage an organization's reputation and erode the trust of its customers and stakeholders. In today's digital age, where news spreads quickly on social media, a security breach can result in widespread negative publicity and have long-lasting consequences for an organization's brand and market position.
Fifthly, Information Systems Security is important because it helps maintain business continuity. Security breaches can disrupt business operations, leading to downtime and lost productivity. This can result in missed deadlines, lost sales, and reduced customer satisfaction. Effective Information Systems Security measures can help minimize the impact of security breaches and ensure that business operations continue as normal.
Lastly, Information Systems Security is important because it is an ethical responsibility. Organizations have an ethical obligation to protect the information that they collect, store, and use. Failure to do so can result in harm to individuals and society as a whole. By implementing effective Information Systems Security measures, organizations can fulfill their ethical responsibility to protect sensitive information and contribute to the greater good.

CCSP or CISSP – Which is better?
Choosing between CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) and CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) can be a bit tricky as both the certifications are nearly the same and developed by (ISC)2. However, one of them can be chosen based on what an individual wants to accomplish. CISSP is a certification that allows you to advance your career by moving into management, while CCSP helps you stay technical. Also, earning a CISSP credential stands as the entire experience required for a CCSP.

The benefits of earning a CISSP certification include the immediate recognition that one receives as it is highly respected by large organizations. As per a survey conducted by the Global Information Security and Workforce, the average salary earned by CISSP professionals is 25% more than the average salary earned by their non-certified colleagues. Also, the rate at which the salary hikes are received by CISSP professionals exceeds many other domains in the IT industry.
Salary Comparison
If we compare the pays being withdrawn after pursuing these courses, a CCSP earns an annual average salary of $100,800 (upon averaging salary reports form US, Philadelphia, PA, Washington, DC, Dallas-Fort Worth, TX and Shreveport, LA) according to Glassdoor, while the annual average salaries earned by CISSP professionals vary between $80,540 for an Information Security Analyst and $110,451 for a Security Architect, as per a study was done by the PayScale.

Some hints to clear CISSP exam?
CISSP is undoubtedly the best certification to pursue if you are trying to make it big in the cybersecurity space. Being one of the best certification acing the test isn't easy in the first place and requires a lot of effort and access to the right guidance and updated study material, but the global recognition and the avenues of opportunities that arrive with it make all the hard work worth it.
Although CISSP never releases the results, analytics reveals only 35-40% people are able to clear the exam
The reason is that CISSP is designed in a way to test deep technical knowledge in not one but 8 domains ranging from deep knowledge of cybersecurity to managerial abilities.
And though self-study is usually the best practice, CISSP certification would require you to seek help from a certified trainer with good industry exposure and experience as the syllabus is revised extensively every year. If you are working and a dedicated classroom course isn't viable for you because of time constraints, look for a certified training center that provides live online class and complete access to the dashboard for self-study.
I am breaking down in steps how to clear the exam in your first attempt
Eligibility check
Since the exam is focussed more towards experienced and practicing cybersecurity professionals, be sure to check if you fulfill the criteria (to check eligibility visit the link at the end of the answer)
2. Preparation plan.
Plan your efforts in advance and give direction to your efforts. Get a healthy knowledge of syllabus and latest revisions, exam patterns and latest inclusions, be aware of the latest change of rules and regulations.
3. Focus and make a study routine that best suits your daily time table
Since the passing marks are quite high, you will need a routine where you allocate time daily for the studies, it doesn't have to be full 2-3 hour study session as all of the people applying are usually working, you will do fine with 1 hour every day, remember consistency is the key here
4. Choosing the right source of information and guidance
Your efforts should be price and focussed as time is money and you cannot waste much of it, I will advise you to enroll yourself with a training center with good experience as they will be well versed with trends and better at predicting upcoming updates and changes in the exam patterns and syllabus. This way you can save a generous amount of time and leave it all on your trainer and direct all your efforts on studies only.

Being in the industry and being acquainted with some of their trainers, mercury solutions are pretty good at training CISSP aspirants. The institute is certified by (ISC)² which is the certification authority that conducts CISSP. The impressive academic record history, industry leaders as trainers and big 19 years experience makes mercury solutions a very viable option. They also provide virtual live classes along with recorded classes for those who cannot enroll for classroom courses and it might come out as helpful for you.
You should visit their website to get a quote and to check eligibility and latest updated syllabus.
