Boy Next World; One

Short Summary • Phugan is just your confused kid with a guardian angel and colorful underwear for specific days of the week. These underwear have to be worn on their particular day or his whole day will be ruined; actually quite literally. We see the aftermath of Phu not wearing his orange underwear on the correct day, leading to a couple of mishaps. Phugan forgets his wallet, is late for his pop quiz, actually fails the quiz because he's late, and has someone he has never met show up at his door. Did he mention the guy also knows everything about him and claims they're dating?

Pairing(s) thus far • Cirrus x Phugan (Boss Chaikamon & Noeul Nuttarat)

Thoughts • It's interesting that the only thing particularly different between Cirrus' world and Phugan's world is that they're not dating; at least thus far. It would be so funny to see Cirrus come to Phugan's world and realize that everything he knew about his lover in his world was completely different from his lover in Phugan's world. I'm also curious if the accident that led Cirrus to the hospital was some sort of a transition point as we have yet to find out how he changed to an alternate world.

Phugan is also quite quirky. How many guardian angels do you know that control so much of your life? Why are there rules and how can the guardian angel get sick and disappear? I wonder how long it will take for Phu to fall for Cir. Phu doesn't really seem interested in getting close to him currently.

Boy Next World; Two

Short Summary • Phu is curious how similar he is to the Phu from Cir's world. Cirrus tells Phu about how they first met, in his world, which involves cup-phones. The event did happen in Phu's world, but the ending did not lead to Cir and Phu getting to know each other. Phu cannot help but take care of Cir after their promise and realize just how close the two of them live. "You can pat my head anytime you want" turns into much more as Cir cannot resist Phu's cuteness. Jin also seems to know more than he lets on.

Pairing(s) thus far • Cirrus x Phugan (Boss Chaikamon & Noeul Nuttarat)

Thoughts • It's interesting to see how confused Phu is over the whole situation that he's even having inner debates outwardly in the middle of the sitting area where other students are watching him. How much does Jin know that he's warning Cir to tell Phu the truth, but also encouraging Phu to notice Cir more? The fact that Phu is already falling for Cir, despite knowing that there's some other version of himself that Cir is actually in love with, just goes to show how much Cir truly loves the Phu from his world that he remembers everything about him.

Also, is it possible Cirrus is not from a parallel world and is just using this as a way to get closer to Phu because he failed to talk to him initially during their cup-phone moment?

Boy Next World; Five

Short Summary • Phu seems to be forgetting his plan just to be a stand-in for Cir's Phugan until Cir returns to his world as he seems to be forgetting to keep his feelings in check. Maybe that's for the better as it seems Cir made up the other world just to get closer to Phugan (but Cir's weird dreams seem to contradict that). Cir seems to be the only one that knows Jin can read minds; a fact that becomes apparent when Cir crashes the friends' lunch date.

Pairing(s) thus far • Cirrus x Phugan (Boss Chaikamon & Noeul Nuttarat), Jin x Wim (Fourth Kashane & Donut Suppawit)

Thoughts • Cir admitting to a sleeping Phu that he made up the whole other world was interesting. I kind of wondered if it was a ruse to get closer to Phugan, but I didn't actually think that was the case. The recurring dream Cirrus keeps having of an alternate version of himself is a bit concerning. He does recognize it as a dream, but dreams are very powerful so we will see how long he believes that.

Now, how will Cir reconcile the fact that the Phu he loves is not in another world, but the one he lives in?

Boy Next World; Four

Short Summary • Phu offers to be the Phu from Cir's world replacement since he knows Cir cannot live without Phu. Cir takes Phu home when he gets wet from the rain and cannot seem to help himself from wanting to kiss Phu (who doesn't stop him). Phu even gets to see first-hand how possessive Cir is of him by scaring away all of Phu's friends when he arrives to take a sick Phu home. Their journey home gets interrupted by Cir's mother requesting him to return home. It isn't until Phu is very sick that he asks for Cir to come to him and that he misses Cir.

Pairing(s) thus far • Cirrus x Phugan (Boss Chaikamon & Noeul Nuttarat)

Thoughts • I'm confused by Cir's mom wanting to control him and the hate she has towards Cir's father. Why would Phu be a tool for Cir's dad to control him? Poor Phu is just an oblivious and goofy boy that Cir wants to take care of. The preview showed the part I was interested in seeing in the next episode! Evil Cir v "Good" Cir. I'm curious to see how that scene plays out because it should be very telling of who Cirrus really is and if this parallel world truly exists.

Boy Next World; Six

Short Summary • Cir’s mother sends someone to pay off Phu so that he will break up with Cir. This is also when Phu meets Ozone, Cirrus’ brother, who lives with their father and acts as an informant between their father and Cir. Phugan finds out how Cir traded his life’s freedom to have the freedom he does during university away from his mother; not to mention the details of when the brothers were younger.

Pairing(s) thus far • Cirrus x Phugan (Boss Chaikamon & Noeul Nuttarat), Jin x Wim (Fourth Kashane & Donut Suppawit)

Thoughts • When Cir said he was from a parallel world, he didn’t mean literally. He meant from a place where he couldn’t touch Phugan because he knew once he graduated from university that his life was no longer his own due to the deal he made with his mother. Even when Ozone and Wim tell Cir that he can fight his mother so he doesn’t have to go through with the deal, Cir refuses. Maybe he’s worried that his mother will do something to Phu as she has already had someone approach Phu without Cir’s knowing. It seems that Cir is happy with Phu, but there’s always the knowledge in the back of his mind that he’s going to lose Phu eventually.

Also! We get to see Tong playing as Thorn again ☺️ I was surprised they hadn’t cast a different actor, but I’m all for it.
