Welcome to our first video in 2024, where we dive into a compelling case study on how industrial symbiosis accelerates carbon neutrality through regional cooperation. In this video, we explore the intersection of sustainability and interdisciplinary leadership, highlighting the urgent need to achieve internationally agreed sustainability goals like the Paris Agreement and UN Sustainable Development Goals. At Global Empowerment Leadership, we take pride in presenting our highly anticipated 2024 newsletter series. Last year, we delved into pressing sustainability challenges, such as green growth, climate action, and empowerment through education. This year, our focus shifts towards circular economy strategies—a realm of innovative, cross-sector solutions that hold immense promise for global sustainability. The circular economy represents a systemic shift away from the traditional 'take-make-waste' linear model towards an industrial system designed to be restorative and regenerative. By optimizing resource use through techniques like reuse, repair, refurbishment, remanufacturing, and recycling, the circular economy aims to decouple economic activity from finite resource consumption and minimize waste generation. This holistic and multidimensional approach offers opportunities across industries and communities to eliminate waste and foster environmental stewardship. Throughout our 2024 newsletters, we will delve into major themes such as urban industrial symbiosis, sustainable minerals and materials management, and circular business model innovation. We are excited to present cutting-edge case studies and research that will assist industry, government, and civil society in their journey towards a truly regenerative and inclusive economy. We encourage you to share your perspectives on social media using the hashtag #CircularEconomyLeadership to facilitate ongoing conversations throughout the year. Thank you @rejewelcollective ♻️ Excited to be a Rejewel Collective Member Reposted from @rejewelcollective : USA :| Folks the USA are showing up! Meet Luz of @stellalucchi_ based in Queens, New York. Luz is our third USA based Collective member and we're thrilled to have her on board here. Luz shares our vision for waste reduction within the jewellery industry and has been upcycling old pieces since she founded her business in 2012. Her pieces are bold and distinctive in style and we're in love with her work and her ethos - swipe to admire the beauty ⬅️ Here's a little more about @stellalucchi_ - "Stella Lucchi was founded in 2012, by jewelry designer Luz Barbosa. The line began as a simple outlet for emotional expression at a difficult time in her life, which grew into expanded creations meant to affirm the inner warrior and goddess in every woman. Each piece is a reflection of another place and time, a direct homage to the women of strength who have come before us all today. Stella Lucchi is mainly comprised of old, unused, and broken jewelry that is rescued, re-purposed, and re-imagined into existence. Ensuring that these pieces do not end up in the landfills. Everything is handmade by Luz. Most are one-of-a-kind pieces. In this therapeutic process of upcycling jewelry Luz was able to self-reflect and practice gratitude for existing possessions. Like a time capsule, each piece/part of our old jewelry tells a story and is a glimpse into one's life. Stella Lucchi believes that we can uncover renewed beauty in our existing jewels by upcycling them. Our upcycling actions; heightens our compassion for the environment and reinforces mindful living." #rejewelcollective #stellalucchi #jewelleryupcyclingservice #upcycledjewellery #upcycledjewelry #jewelrydesigner #jewellerdesigner #reworkedjewellery #reworkedjewelry #sustainablesolutions #waronwaste #changemakers #sustainablejewelry #circularbusinessmodel #circulardesign #circularjewelry #indiemaker #indiedesign #indiejewelry #positivebrands #impactdrivenbusiness #greenbrands #jewelry #upcycledstyle #upcycledbling #slowjewelry #collaborationovercompetition #strongertogether (at Queens, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCeKUwmp8dD/?igshid=1870e1i4p7l6g

I just joined the @rejewelcollective and I'm so excited about this partnership! ♻️ Reposted from @rejewelcollective : ABOUT US :| We are the ReJewel Collective, founded in 2019 with the original upcycling service being launched way back in 2008. We are a collaborative effort of independent international designer, makers and artists upcycling broken fast fashion jewellery. Our prime directive is waste reduction within the fashion industry, specifically fashion jewellery. Our platform provides a space to showcase the voices within the jewellery industry working towards a waste free future by replacing out dated linear business, with circular business models. Our vision is to be the largest international collective of designer makers reducing waste within the fashion jewellery industry - providing numerous places around the world for members of the public to send their broken jewellery for upcycling - our jewellery upcycling service is available in England, New Zealand, Scotland, Australia, Russia, France and USA (USA currently covers 3 states). Until now the waste produced by fashion jewellery has gone ignored, we're here to change that. The ReJewel Collective is open to any independent designer/maker/artists to join, we are seeing steady growth within our Collective and aim to be a Global Movement. We're working hard to get our new website launched, so close! Where you'll be able to meet our Collective members, view their work and contact your most local maker to send in your jewellery for upcycle. Want to join our Collective? Hit the link in our bio. Got some jewellery you'd like upcycled?
