FemFreq Cinemaball 03: It Follows (2014)

Whooooooo.... that was horrifying. Apart from some (2 or 3) cheap-ass jump scares a truly scary horror film that plays on the paranoia.

“It” is something with no consistent shape or form, can look like anyone, but often takes a form of it’s current victim’s person of importance in order to get closer. It never runs or scurries, just walks slowly closer and that shit is the creepiest.

The only way to get rid of It (apparently) is to have sex with someone and then the other person is the new victim. If they die, It goes back in the sex-chain to the person who transmitted it.

An original movie monster, pulls some real life horror images from having an STD I’d think.

Really appreciate that every time It got another victim, it was done knowingly so they could protect/care for the protagonist. Well, from the point on where the protagonist got It, and even the beginning of the film was very... sort of reassuring. Jay’s hook-up didn’t tell about It beforehand, but after transmitting It, made sure she knew what she was dealing with, and what to do. Though I am sure there was about 100 non-creepier ways he could’ve introduced her to It, starting with, I don’t know, not tying her into a chair? Dude...

Anyways. Really creepy, scary, don’t watch too late.
