Fandom: Wordgirl Relationship: Mr Big x Leslie (Bigslie) Characters: Mr Big, Leslie, Dr Two-Brains, Lady Redundant Woman, Ms Question, Chuck (mentioned), Brent (mentioned) Rating: General Audience Summary: Leslie knows Mr Big better than anyone. Probably more than himself. Every year, by his indirect request, she gets him a gift for Christmas (with the company's card). Every year felt the same. Their work dynamic unchanged. She was nothing more than his assistant. His sidekick. And he wasn't bothered by it, thinking she wouldn't walk away. Until she did. Leslie continued on with her yearly tasks even after coming back. But there was something different this year. And no one was more surprised than her.
Finally, the Bigslie Christmas fic is done. Is the fandom still alive anymore? Who knows, but finally got this out and right on time. Merry Christmas!

I adore Chuck, but it would've been really interesting to have seen Brent lose his cool on his brother. And not just a few complaints or comments either, but a full blown vent, fueled by genuine anger and pain from Chuck's rude behaviour. I would love to see Chuck respond with the same kind of anger, so that the two can finally air out their grievances.
Brent has mentioned that he is *also* jealous of his brother. I wonder if he also feels a sort of resentment towards Chuck, but he's just more civil about it. Perhaps he's far too nice to reveal any deeper feelings of anger or envy towards Chuck, even if that might help them relate and understand each other better.
Or worse, maybe Brent suppresses those bitter feelings, so he feels guilty whenever he interacts with his sibling. That could be why he's so insistent on being Chuck's sidekick or partner in crime, despite the repercussions he could face. That, and wanting to spend time with his brother on Chuck's own terms.
To add on, Brent may be beloved by the public, but as we've seen countless of times with Wordgirl, the public is not very forgiving of mistakes. The guy must feel an immense pressure to keep a positive image, all the while he sees his brother play video games and committing petty crimes. Brent must feel like Chuck has no worries in the world sometimes.
I imagine Chuck sabotaging, insulting, and outright disregarding Brent must hurt a lot too. I can fully see where Chuck is coming from, in feeling pressured to be like his perfect sibling, but I can empathize with Brent too. They both have a toxic dynamic at home with their mom choosing favorites, but coddling Chuck all the while.

my personal least favorite wordgirl episodes (and the reasons why):
high five sandwich: this isn't the worst episode of the show ever but idk i hated how chuck acted in that episode, the writers made him so aggressively stupid and i didn't like how it blended into the story
crime takes a holiday: unpopular opinion maybe but glen furlblam is an egocentric bitch who gloats too much, and poor two brains he didn't deserve it
my dad, my teacher, my dad, my teacher: i don't even know the message that was supposed to be taken from this episode... like even if your parents rat you out in horrendous ways they're doing it because they love you??? poor butcher was getting it horrible from kid potato, plus tim botsford was kind of out of character in a way
chuck with a sidekick of brent: both chuck and brent were acting so hostile towards eachother throughout the episode, brent should've been more considerate of chucks feelings but chuck should've at least tried to talk things out with brent in a better way
say it again eileen: i know eileen is supposed to be an annoying character but come onnn i hated the constant repetition she did everytime becky spoke
id like to hear y'alls least fav episodes if you feel comfy sharing them ofc

the more i watch/think about chuck with a sidekick of brent, the more i realize as an autistic person that chuck was actually right for feeling annoyed with brent
brent was trying to force a schedule onto chuck and ofc that was going to make him uncomfortable if he doesn't like schedules, if brent wanted a schedule he could've made one for himself and that'd be fine imo
then ofc brent came in with his changes and put them all on chuck without asking him first, which would annoy the fuck out of me
although i believe that chuck is unnecessarily aggressive towards brent in the other episodes, i think he was totally justified in this episode and that he had the right to feel angry because of what brent was doing

what's everyone's least favorite wordgirl season?
mine is either season 4 or season 7. aside from "a world without wordgirl" in season 4, nothing else about the season struck me. there are a few episodes I like in it (rat trap, the fill in, mouse brain take over) but other than that it's so.. eh. plus im not really a fan of both regularly timed chuckisodes in season 4, "word hicc-up" was straight up bullying/babying chuck and in "chuck with a sidekick of brent" both chuck and brent were acting like assholes towards eachother
season 7 didn't have a lot to offer either. it's not a bad season but it wad just kind of boring
a few favorite episodes I have from season 7 are "kid math", "beckys baditude", "castle dungeon fortress so", (violet and tj interaction is always welcome bc i see violet as another older sister figure to tj!) and "the power of whamship"
i don't really like "the smile collector" (the smile box was a cute concept but they couldve done so much more with it) and "my dad my teacher my dad my teacher"

what are some wordgirl episodes that are just “eh” to y’all?
some of mine include word hicc-up, all of the pre season 6 chuck and brent episodes (except chuck with a sidekick of brent, i don’t like that one), two brains boogie, the straw that broke two brains back, the smile collecter, highway to havarti, swap meat, and maybeeee house arrest?? (i kind of did like that one because it was funny, but the pacing is a little slow to me)

chuck with a sidekick of brent is probably my least favorite chuck and brent episode honestly
i felt kinda bad for brent bc imagine trying to redeem yourself for your siblings only for them to ridicule you and laugh at your ideas
chuck is obviously one of my favorite characters in the show but sometimes i can't stand the way he is to brent sometimes, like at least brent isn't stuck up and he genuinely loves his brother
i honestly like the later chuck and brent episodes more bc chuck isn't as unnecessarily mean towards brent, like he genuinely wants to hang out with him and he cares for him more
#wordgirl#chuck the evil sandwich making guy#wordgirl chuck#brent the handsome successful everybody loves him sandwich making guy#wordgirl brent#they are both very cool#the tension in the earlier chuck and brent eps is just.... not it for me
