To piggyback on this, you don't need to marry everyone off. If you want someone to be single they can be, you the player are the only one forcing characters together.

"Some of the kid characters are fun, but Awakefates' structural obsession with 'literally everyone must marry and breed' was weird at the time and hasn't gotten less weird."

IMHO it was justified in Awakening since it was planned to be the last game. But there really was no excuse for it in Fates, it was just piggybacking on what Awakening did in a way that made zero sense.
