Durante  20 años, ChristopherAnderson se convirtió en uno de los mejores fotógrafos de guerra del mundo, al mismo nivel que otros grandes del género.

Anderson tenía especial afinidad con el fotógrafo Tim Hetherington. Eran de la misma edad, cubrían las mismas guerras y ambos empezaban a sentirse incómodos con la ética y la forma en que hacían los reportajes de guerra.

Hetherington murió en Libia en 2011 al ser alcanzado por la metralla de un mortero disparado por las tropas leales al coronel Gadafi en Misrata. Anderson quedó devastado al tiempo que veía crecer rápidamente a Atlas, su hijo.

Las responsabilidades de la paternidad y el dolor de perder a un amigo en un acto de violencia sin sentido llevaron a Anderson a dejar la fotografía de guerra. Dio carpetazo al fotógrafo que había sido hasta entonces y volvió su cámara hacia Atlas.

El libro: ‘Son’ (Hijo) es una carta de amor a Atlas, que tenía cinco años cuando se publicó el libro; a Marion, la madre de Atlas; y al padre de Anderson, Lynn, que en ese momento estaba luchando contra un cáncer.

Aunque el propio Anderson apenas aparece, el libro también es un autorretrato: una crónica de un hombre que construyó una identidad en torno a la fotografía de guerra para acabar encontrándose a sí mismo en su papel de padre, esposo e hijo.

Todo lo que había fotografiado hasta ese momento fue solo una preparación hacer estas fotos. Me di cuenta de que el gesto más pequeño de mi hijo, en los momentos de mayor tranquilidad y silencio, tenía más poder que cualquier cosa que hubiera presenciado antes.

Christopher Anderson first gained recognition for his pictures in 1999 when he boarded a small wooden boat with Haitian refugees trying to sail to America. The boat, named the "Believe In God", sank in the Caribbean. In 2000 the images from that journey received the Robert Capa Gold Medal. Anderson's early work from conflict zones such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and Israel/ Palestine earned international acclaim and awards such as two World Press Photo Awards and Magazine Photographer of the Year. In 2004, Anderson began traveling to Venezuela to document the country under the presidency of Hugo Chávez. The resulting book, Capitolio (RM 2009) was named one of the best photographic books of 2010 at the Kassels book Festival in Germany. In 2011, Anderson made Capitolio into an app for iPhone and iPad, the first photographic book to be made into an application for such devices. His current work crosses genres, from documentary to art to portraiture of celebrities (such as Lady Gaga) and fashion. Anderson was one of the early members of the VII Photo Agency that was formed by photographers James Nachtwey and Antonín Kratochvíl in 2001.He resigned from the agency in 2004 and joined Magnum Photos in 2005. Christopher Anderson Photography // A Fall Fashion Portfolio 

Anderson’s ‘A Fall Fashion’ portfolio was published in the New York Magazine’s August 2013 issue.

This is a fashion image, meant for commercial use.

The production of the image I feel would mean the use of a fast shutter speed in order to capture the models hair mid air and the smoky effect across the image.

I find this photograph very interesting because of the colours used, I think Anderson has used coloured lights to create this effect, to merge from one colour to the other. Lighting highlights the models jacket but also the volume of her hair making her the focal point with the contrast of colour. The warm colours link with his theme of Fall Fashion. The positioning of the model allows room for extra visuals to come through from the left which seems to add almost a mysterious atmosphere to the image. Also creating the extra visuals I feel has made the image much more exciting. The use of the colour red creates a bold statement. It creates a very serious tone. With the dark background Anderson has allowed the model to stand out in the foreground of the image.

travailler. Plus c'est strict, mieux c'est. Fixez-vous un délai (une semaine, un mois, peu importe) pendant lequel vous travaillerez uniquement de cette manière. Arrivé à la fin de la période, répétez la tâche en créant une nouvelle liste de paramètres complètement différents.
