“Christine saw a rabbit on Maple street.” Cas said.

“A rabbit?”

“She thought it noteworthy enough to radio in about it.” 

Dean snorted a laugh. “Yeah, that tracks.” 

“Otherwise quiet. Garth is scheduled to radio in around eight, I figure one of us will want to be there for that.” 

“Yeah, why don’t you take it.” 

“We’re asking for three?”

Dean frowned. “The Clarks have been here for a while.” 

“Traveling with an infant complicates things.” 

“Yeah.” Dean said, rubbing his chin. “You know what, ask Garth if he can take four more. Let him know about the kids’ ages.”

“You want to move a group that big?”

Dean hesitated. “No. But we can spare enough manpower for two trips. We’ll take Dave and the Millers together and take the Clarks the day after. No, wait…” Dean thought for a moment. “Two days after. Tuesdays and Thursdays Frank is on patrol out on I-35. He’ll keep clear and we won’t be bothered.” 

“Alright.”

For a sweet and fruity breakfast treat, try these tasty apple pancakes.

Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 2 tablespoons sugar. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon cinnamon. 1/2 cup milk. 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce. 1 egg. 1 apple, peeled, cored, and diced. Butter or oil for cooking.

Instructions: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, applesauce, and egg. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the diced apple pieces. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and add a small amount of butter or oil to coat the surface. Pour 1/4 cup of the pancake batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown. Serve the apple pancakes hot with maple syrup or your favorite toppings.

Blackberries and green tea give this vegan pudding its antioxidant-rich flavor, and the earthiness of green tea gives it a nice balance. Creamy almond milk and healthy chia seeds hold it all together.

Ingredients: 1 cup blackberries. 2 tbsp chia seeds. 1 green tea bag. 1 cup almond milk. 1 tbsp maple syrup.

Instructions: Make green tea with one cup of hot water, then let it cool down. Blend almond milk and blackberries together in a blender until the mixture is smooth. Put the blended blackberries, brewed green tea, and maple syrup in a bowl. Add the chia seeds and mix them in. Make sure to stir the ingredients together well. Put the bowl in the fridge for at least two hours or overnight with the lid on top to let the chia seeds expand and make a pudding-like consistency. If you want, you can add more blackberries to the top after serving it cold.
