Proverbs 31: An Impossible Standard Contributors Talbot School of Theology at Biola University Nell Sunukjian Many women, and men, too, avoid studying Proverbs 31:10-31 because they think it presents an unrealistic and unattainable standard for women. I can’t tell you how many articles I have read that describe this lady as ‘superwoman’ and, therefore, not applicable for the average female But would God really put a job description in His Word if it were unattainable? Surely our knowledge of Him says the description of the woman of noble character was placed in the Scriptures to encourage us, male and female. It’s for our edification; there is much we can learn from it about becoming wise women. Proverbs is a textbook on wise living. The phrase “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” is found 14 times in Proverbs and notably, the book closes with a flesh-and-blood example of one whose whole life has been given to the pursuit of wisdom—the Proverbs 31 woman. She demonstrates in daily life that wisdom is not an esoteric idea dispensed to learners; it is living in wise ways, living in harmony with God’s creation and His laws. Wisdom is right living, good decisions, and honorable choices. The poem opens with the idea that a wise woman—one who fears the Lord—is valuable, though quite rare. And she is worth the search! For when found, she will be of the highest personal character and fiscally responsible. She is described in verse 10 as being of “noble character” and “worth far more than rubies.” Verses 11-12 speak of her financial savvy. Her husband has “full confidence” in her and “lacks nothing of value.” Those are monetary words. And so are these: “she brings him good, not harm.” She not only guards the family assets; she also brings in a significant amount of income. She’s a moneymaker! The first major section of the poem, verses 13-19, delineates how hard this woman works to provide for her family and to earn income. It’s arranged in a chiastic structure, with ideas leading up to the main idea and then backing away with parallel ideas. Kinda like the way my sister and I communicate. Persecution arise against the believer for one main reason, that is, to get the Word of God out of the individual, as soon as it's received, so that the word does not bear root. However, we have the sole responsibility to protect that seed which is the Word of God, because it contain in it, life. That's why the devil is against the Word bearing root. Matthew 7:24-25 says, "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock." The rain of life will come against everyone, floods and winds (notice they are plural) will also beat hard against you (you are the house). The question is, on what are you built? On a rock? Which is the Word of God, or on a sand? Which is some other source. Will you still be standing after the rain, floods and winds beat hard on you? What determines the answer is the foundation upon which you stand. I pray that, the grace of God will keep you standing, so as to obtain the price and be victorious till the end, in Jesus name! 'Persona 5' Sales News: Worldwide Release Brings Shipment Record to 1.5 Million

“Persona 5” developer Atlus announced that they have already shipped 1.5 million copies of the game just a couple of days after its worldwide release.

The said game had been released in September 2016 in Japan while its worldwide launch happened just last April 4. “Persona 5” is a role-playing, social simulation game that revolves around characters attending the fictional Shujin Academy.

These characters will later on realize the “Persona powers” they have and will be obliged to act on it and become vigilantes. Their main goal is to remove evil motives from people’s hearts. They will also need to tackle supernatural beings that try to jeopardize their mission.

Last April 6, or about two days since the worldwide release, the Japanese website of Atlus posted an official statement to announce that the game has sold an accumulative 1.5 million copies already.

The developer acknowledged that the game had already been patronized so well since the Japan launch. However, the shipment to other regions of the globe clearly made it possible for them to reach the said figure.

By the end of the statement, Atlus thanked all the gamers who supported “Persona 5,” and in return, they promised to continuously work on expanding the franchise. The company also promised players that a concert will take place at the Yokohama Arena on August 2.

Meanwhile, just like other games, “Persona 5” has been the subject of many leaks and spoilers. Since the game is much of a story-driven type, that does not sit well with the developers. Although they probably want every player to explore and uncover the narrative, the widespread emergence of plot leaks and spoilers tend to tamper with that experience.

With that, Atlus was obliged to take action and sent a stern warning to players who keep on streaming plot spoilers without consideration to the many people still exploring the game.

“Simply put, we don’t want the experience to be spoiled for people who haven’t played the game. Our fans have waited years for the game to come out and we really want to make sure they can experience it fully as a totally new adventure,” Atlus explained in a recent blog post on its website.

On the same blog post, Atlus set clear guidelines on what is okay to post about the game and what is not. And for players who not adhere to those, the developers have a warning: “If you decide to stream past 7/7 (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT DOING THIS, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED), you do so at the risk of being issued a content ID claim or worse, a channel strike/account suspension.” Source: christianpost

Last year on my birthday I got gifts but i got one gift that outbeat them all, A Bible Journal. My aunt is into Bible journaling and she thought it would be a good idea to get me one and she was right! I've been in love with this for a long while and still am because it's God's words and i can journal right next to it without writing on His precious words, it's the best. I have been growing more knowledge of the word of God and for that the thanks goes to the Holy Spirit because He's the main one whose helping me to grow more in knowledge and He's also helping me to gain more wisdom. I truly do thank Him, I thank God for a lot, I thank Him most of all for His words and for His presence. to know that God actively helps us to understand His word is amazing and what's more amazing is that whenever you read the Bible He's present! I can't explain to you how awesome that is!
