WIP Wednesday
From the weaponized awkwardness Chrissy/Jonathan fic:
The Byers boy was in her kitchen again.
“Look,” he said, in the too-soft, halting voice that never failed to make Laura grind her teeth, “I’m glad it’s because I used to go with Nancy. I thought he was just a prick.”
Laura, standing in the hall, pinched the bridge of her nose. She was no Puritan—a teenage boy wasn’t going to talk like a Sunday school teacher—but Jason Carver had never turned the air in her kitchen blue. She supposed Jonathan had never learned any better, growing up in that ramshackle house with a mother who smoked and swore no matter who was watching. Not for the first time, she reminded herself to be understanding.
“He still is,” Chrissy said earnestly. If she was bothered by the language, her voice showed no sign. “He’s being totally immature and unprofessional. I know Nancy thinks so, too.”
“You should have seen her,” Jonathan said, with a short bark of a laugh. “She was so pissed off.”

“Lips of an Angel.” Eddie Munson. *ANGST*
Tumblr media
(not my gif)
Summary: Angst based off the song “Lips of an Angel” by Hinder.
TW: Mentions of cheating throughout, parents fighting, a bit of smut but no true detail.
Word Count: 1.8k
A.N: Bold and italicized words are the song lyrics. Also, Eddie would never but I can’t do anything without thinking of this man so. Also, also, I wrote this in less than 24 hours (Which is unheard of for me), I’m not 100% in love with it, but here it is.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Honey, why you calling me so late? It's kinda hard to talk right now Honey, why you crying, is everything okay? I gotta whisper 'cause I can't be too loud Well, my girl's in the next room
The line kept ringing as the tears kept flowing down her cheeks as she silently cried.
All she needed was to hear Eddie’s voice.
“Hello?” His voice says from the other end.
“Eddie…” She sniffles through his name, clinging to the spiral phone cord.
“Hey, what’s wrong? Are you crying?” His voice was quiet as he spoke, she could hear him shuffling around on the other end.
“My parents… they’re going at it again.” She sobs, wiping the tears from her eyes. “I just need you.”
Eddie’s heart clenched at that phrase, between her sobs and the sadness in her tone. Just as he was going to speak, he could hear Chrissy in the bathroom, getting ready for their date tonight. “I wish I could be there, baby. I just-.” He started.
She knew once he muffled the word “baby” that she was there. “She’s there isn’t she?” The pain more apparent in her voice.
“Y-yeah…” He sighs, lightly banging the back of his head against the wall he was pressed up against.
“What happened to you leaving her? Isn’t that what you promised me?”
“It’s more complicated than that.” Eddie starts, his own heart aching. “You know why I’m with her, and once I’m able to, I’ll go. It’s just not time yet.” He whispered into the phone.
More tears rolled down her cheeks and down her chin. “You’re never going to leave her, are you? It’s been 6 months Eddie. You promised me.” Her voice crumbles at the last sentence, followed by a broken sob.
***
Sometimes I wish she was you I guess we never really moved on
He felt like an ass hole. Mostly because he was.
He was in love with 2 women, one of them for the wrong reasons… and she was the one that was in the next room.
The one that he was going to be making love to by the end of the night, but in reality, he wanted to be with the other.
Eddie was with Chrissy for all the wrong reasons, and he knew that. Her family was nice enough to help his band pay for time in a recording studio so they could record a demo. That had already been done months ago, but for some reason he didn’t have the heart to break it off with Chrissy even though he wanted to be with someone else.
Maybe it was the fact that he and Chrissy had shared trauma they talked about the first night they shared when she came over to his place for a stronger drug than weed. They ended up talking all night and from that night they were inseparable. Chrissy broke up with Jason the next day, and it took everyone at school by surprise that the cheerleader and the freak were an item.
But once Eddie met his other girl a few months later, he knew he was in trouble because he was head over heels in love with someone else.
He met her at a bar where she was a waitress the night he went out to celebrate graduating. They spent all night talking, even though she was supposed to be working.
She took him home that night, and they hooked up all night.
Eddie fell for her right away, he had never felt this way about anyone.
They had the same taste in music, movies, and they were similar personality wise. The only thing that sucked was that she lived far from Hawkins; almost 2 hours away.
It was hard for either of them to see each other on a regular basis, but they did make it work.
Eddie told her he loved her way before he told Chrissy, and part of him felt bad about it. But he couldn’t help the way he felt. They had such a different connection than him and Chrissy.
Many nights that he and Chrissy were in bed together, he pictured his other girl. Flashbacks of their first night together were in his mind while he was with Chrissy, all he saw was someone else’s face. All he wanted was someone else.
One of the nights that Eddie and Chrissy went out on a date, she just so happened to be there, and she saw them together, Chrissy hanging off his arm.
Eddie knew she saw them together, and when he was able to slip away from Chrissy, he did and had to explain everything.
That night he promised to leave Chrissy for her, but here they were 6 months later.
***
It's really good to hear your voice saying my name It sounds so sweet Coming from the lips of an angel Hearing those words, it makes me weak
As angry as Chrissy was that Eddie canceled their date in the midst of her getting ready, he was able to leave. It was a long drive to her place, but he knew he needed to be with her. He wanted to be with his other girl, rather than the girl that was just feet away.
She heard the rapid knocks at her window, and Eddie standing outside of her bedroom window. She practically ran to let him in, waiting for him to climb in.
He didn’t even get a word in before she wrapped her arms around his waist for a hug.  “I’m sorry baby.” He whispers in her ear.
She shakes her head, sniffling against his chest. “It’s okay. I just need you.”
“I’m right here.”
She quickly stretches up on her toes and presses a kiss to his lips, knowing that his body could take away the pain that she was feeling in her heart.
It was quick after they had kissed that they ended up on her bed; lips, hands, and clothes everywhere.
“Eddie, fuck.” She whimpers in his ear as she was coming down from her second orgasm in less than 10 minutes.
Eddie was painfully hard next to her, pressing kisses to her neck. Just hearing her voice was enough to make him rock hard. “Again, say my name again.” He whispers in her ear, going back in with his fingers to play with her just to hear her whimper his name again.
A moan, that neither of them can believe came out of her, fills her room. Her head rolls to the side as she gasps loudly. “E-Eddie! Baby, I can’t again! Eds please.” She begs, trying to run from his touch.
Eddie kisses her mouth hungrily, his other hand gripping her face. “I love you. I love you so much.”
“I love you, Eddie.”
“It’s you, you know that? It’s always going to be you, angel. Only want you.” Eddie continues to whisper in her ear, desperate for her.
***
And I never wanna say goodbye But, girl, you make it hard to be faithful With the lips of an angel
They laid in bed together afterwards, her telling him about the fight her mom and dad were having that night, telling him about all the glass she could hear breaking, all the words they were throwing at each other.
“I don’t want to be around them anymore. I want to get as far away from here as possible.” She sniffles.
“One day. I promise.” Eddie says softly, playing with her fingers.
“There’s still another promise you need to keep.” She says, flipping to her stomach to look at him.
Eddie sighs heavily, reaching into his jacket pocket for his carton of cigarettes and his lighter.
She gets up to give him the ashtray at her bedside table, laying it next to him on the bed.
“I will. It’s just…”
“Do you love her like you love me?” She asks as he trails off with his sentence.
Eddie felt a knot in his stomach at the question, mostly because of the answer. “No, baby.”
“Then why is it so hard? That night, you were the one that said you were going to break up with her because it was a one sided relationship. You said you wanted me. But here I am being the other woman.”
Eddie took a puff from the cigarette, holding the smoke in for a few seconds before he exhaled. “It’s hard because I don’t want to hurt her feelings, okay. I might not love her, but I care about her. I need to find the right time.”
“Eddie, I’m not going to wait forever.” She admits, looking him dead in the eye. “What if Chrissy picks up the phone up one of the times I call and hears me on the phone?” She spits angrily. “I don’t want to fight with you, Eddie. But I need you to know that this can’t last if it’s going to be a secret. What if she finds out?”
Eddie places the half smoked cigarettes in the ashtray, and takes his favorite ring off his pointer finger, sliding it onto her much smaller finger. “This is my promise, that I will end things with Chrissy, and it’ll just be you and I. I’m not going to keep you a secret, I promise.”
“Please. I want to be with you, only you. But I need to be the only one in your life. My father always had other women, I don’t want to be ‘the other woman’.”
Eddie kisses the back of her hand, stroking her knuckles. “You won’t. I promise.”
***
Well, my girl's in the next room Sometimes I wish she was you
It had been 2 months since Eddie had ended things with Chrissy, and it was harder than he thought it was going to be.
He thought that he was only with Chrissy for the money for the band’s demo, but now that she wasn’t around anymore, he missed her. Her cute little smile, her laugh, her presence. He wasn’t expecting to miss her as much as he did.
Eddie was strumming on his guitar on the couch while his girl was making them dinner. He had a clear view of her, and part of him pictured Chrissy being there instead. He couldn’t understand why he was feeling this way when he was with the girl he wanted. He watched with soft eyes as she walked around the kitchen, stirring the contents of the pot on the stove as she hummed along to the song Eddie was playing.
It’s not that he didn’t love her, he did. But for some reason, he secretly wished that Chrissy was here with him.
“Eddie?” Her voice taking him out of his mind. “Are you ready to eat?” She asks with a sweet smile.
He puts his guitar down on the couch and gets up. Once he makes it over to the kitchen he presses a kiss to her temple, wrapping his arm around her waist. “I love you.”
“I love you too, baby.” She smiles up at him, stretching up to kiss his lips.
He does love her.
But maybe he did love Chrissy too after all.
***
Honey, why you calling me so late?
She was in the shower, washing the sex they had just had off her body.
Eddie was in his room, smoking his cigarette while he tried to recover. He exhales a plume of white smoke right as the phone rings next to him. He grabs the receiver and puts it up to his ear. “Hello?”
“Eddie, it’s Chrissy.” Her voice sounded shaky, and hoarse. “I just need you.”
Fire and Ice ~ E.M.
Tumblr media
I saw that @ashwhowrites was looking for this sort of plot so I tried it out.
Tag list: @hypnoticbeing @delishtequila
Pairing: Eddie x Reader
Summary: Asking Eddie out to Prom but it blowing up in our face (Pretty in Pink reference)
Warnings: ANGST (I tried), Fluff, Heartbreak, Self doubt, Talking down
Word Count: 2.6K
Prom season was fast approaching and I wasn’t sure if I was really meant to go to these things. I wasn’t the most popular girl in school but I also had average looks. My best friend was Steve Harrington and would always come over after school.
“So, Y/N have you decided if you’re going to prom or not? You have to ask Eddie! You’ve had a crush on him for over a year and a half. It’s time to claim what’s yours!” Steve said throwing his bag on the floor by the front door.
I laughed while slamming the door shut.
“Eddie Munson? I doubt he’d want to go with me … I mean look at me Steve. I haven’t had a boyfriend yet. I wouldn’t know what to do.” I replied with a sigh.
Steve pulled me into a long hug and slapped the back of my head. He never liked me talking down about myself but it was true. What could I say? I lived across the street from Eddie’s trailer. I heard his van pulling up the drive with the loud ass metal music blasting. Steve shot me a quick look and smirked.
“Steve, go to hell! I’m not going to embarrass myself with Eddie!” I yelled while we were hanging out in my living room.
I stared out the window at Eddie while he was climbing out of his van. Watching him stumble and act frantic made my heart flutter. I could never tell if he was playing or just stupidly high. My heart dropped when I saw Chrissy running around the van from the otherside. She was much prettier and fuck, she was the queen of Hawkins High. Jason and her broke up months ago.
“Seems like you got some competition Y/N. But I have faith, Steve is never wrong!” He whispered, snapping me back to reality.
“Steve, I love you - I really do. But, can you go home now? I’m not feeling that well and I have two exam’s I have to study for.” I pleaded out while picking at the end of my sweater.
He reminded me of Prom once again. In exactly one week, Prom will be here. I took my backpack and dragged myself to my room. I didn’t have much money to spend on a dress even if I did decide to go. I took out my textbooks and began to study for my exams. Hours later, my father knocked on the door holding a surprise.
“Sweetie, I know we don’t have tons of money but when I saw this I knew you needed to have it. I knew you could remaster it in your own way and create something so beautiful. You could even wear it to prom. I know your mother would want you to go. It’s too bad she’s not here anymore. She would have loved helping you plan out everything.” He said pulling at the garment bag.
It definitely was an interesting dress. It was bright pink with hot pink hearts all over it. The material was pretty decent. I stared at it for a few minutes.
“Thanks daddy - I’ll try my best for you. I’ll get it started later on. Dinner is on the stove when you’re ready.” I sighed.
I shoved the dress in my closet and got ready for bed. I dreamt of Eddie that night. We went to prom together and the look on Steve’s face was priceless. I made Eddie the cutest tie out of a spare hellfire shirt that I found. It had a pink hue from the dye. I wanted us to somewhat match. It was tacky but it was the cutest thing. He didn’t seem like the type to like things like that but he did. He was wearing it proudly. I was awoken by my alarm.
I ran in the shower quickly and threw on something that I found at the local thrift store. My stomach was hungry so I made my father and I some breakfast. He was unemployed because of his alcoholism but he tried really hard to keep certain jobs. I left him a cute note on his bedside table and walked out the door. Eddie was also leaving and I started walking towards school. A van honked at me and I jumped. The van rolled its window down. Eddie.
“Hey princess, you need a ride to school? It looks like it’s going to rain soon.” He asked while blowing out smoke.
“I don’t have money to give you for Gas, Eddie. Maybe next time?” I replied not trying to look at him.
He slammed the breaks and I stopped in my tracks. He leaned over the passenger side seat and opened the door.
“Y/N, I don’t need Gas money. You helped me out with finding those records at your store. It’s the least I could do.” He gestured for me to come in.
I sat awkwardly in his van while he drove us to school. Steve was definitely going to roast my ass over this. I slowly tapped my foot on the floor.
“So, Eddie.. We really haven’t chatted much in the past six months. How have you been?” I asked to cut the silence.
“Well princess, you stopped talking to me once you joined the cheerleading squad. But, I’ve been good. Actually, do you know Chrissy well? She’s been a close friend lately. She’s cool if you don’t know her.” He replied rambling on.
My heart sank. Close friends? What could that even mean?
“I only signed up for cheerleading because I was told it looks good on College applications. And, to your answer - no I don’t know Chrissy. I don’t talk to the other girls.” I said harshly, biting my lip.
“Easy tiger! I was only asking!” He said defensively.
The rest of the way to school was kind of quiet. Random sparks of conversation happened here and there. Once he pulled into the parking lot I automatically saw Steve and slid down in the seat.
“Hey Eddie, I was just wondering .. ifyouwantedtogotoprom. It’s okay if you don’t.” I asked rather quickly looking out the window.
It took him longer to respond to that question than any other of my questions.
“I – um — I guess.” He replied.
It wasn’t the best answer but I was happy enough with it. I leaned over and kissed his cheek. I ran out of the van before I could get a reaction. Steve caught me and gave me a surprised look.
“Don’t ask Harrington. It’s a done deal. Prom 1986 here we come!” I told him walking into Hawkins High.
The day went on as usual, I had my science class first and quickly finished the first exam. English went by even quicker. That’s when my nerves started tweaking at me. Walking down the hall I heard whispers about Chrissy and Eddie. Robin came running down the stairs right up to me.
“Y/N! Did you hear? Your boy’s taken. Eddie apparently asked Chrissy to Prom last night with the cutest promposal. Everyone’s talking about it.” She said shaking my shoulders.
I felt my blood go cold, and my vision went a little fuzzy. I couldn’t believe it. Why wouldn’t he tell me that he was already going with someone. Why play with my emotions like that?
“Y/N?” Robin asked, waving her hand infront of my face. “Did you see a ghost?”
“Well… funny you say that Robin. I asked him to Prom this morning. He never mentioned any of it. He gave me an “I guess” answer.” I said struggling to get my words out.
Steve came running from the other direction. He was drenched in sweat but pulled me into a huge hug and started rubbing my back. Tears started to form as we rocked side to side. He pulled me away and wiped the tears from my cheeks. I stumbled away from him and grabbed my things and left school. It took me forever to get home. Out of everything that has happened, I was glad that my father wasn’t home. I laid in my bed for hours and never realized that night fell. My father wasn’t home yet and I eventually sat up. My eyes caught Eddie pulling into his driveway. He didn’t stumble out of his van this time. He lit his cigarette slowly and sat on his front step. It took a while but he got up and made his way over to my house.
I heard him knock and ring the bell a few times. My heart broke and the tears started to form in my eyes again. I slowly made my way to the front door and opened it just a crack. He wouldn’t look up from the ground.
“I came to… apologize about today. I never really intended going to Prom with you. Hell, I didn’t even want to go to Prom at all. You should know that I’m not even into the Cheerleaders. Chrissy, is different from the rest of them. You asking me made everything so much harder for me. It wasn’t your fault - I know.” He started talking and kicking around small pebbles.
“Y/N, Just talk to me already. Please. I know this must hurt you. I hate myself for it.” He added looking up at me now.
“Eddie. Leave me alone. I just need time to myself. There’s absolutely nothing you can do about it now. You broke my heart and all you can do is give me this half ass apology? How could you do this?” I finally replied.
“I’ll leave you alone now.. I just wanted you to hear my apology. You don’t have to accept it. Fuck you don’t have to even look at me anymore. I’ll stay out of your way.” He struggled saying while walking away.
I gently closed the door but in the distance I heard faint sobs before walking back upstairs. My mind was determined to make a great prom dress and go with Steve. I spent hours creating a design that I could love. I spent the next 6 days sewing, cutting and creating everything. It was finally prom night. Steve promised to pick me up by 7 pm. My father was so happy to see what the dress looked like. It brought tears to both our eyes. I stepped outside and walked to the back of the house. My joint that I rolled for this specific night came in handy. I inhaled it slowly and made sure to really enjoy the high that was approaching. Steve slammed his car door and I ran back to the front. He was about to knock on my front door.
“Well, don’t you clean up nice Harrington. Flowers? F-For me? How sweet.” I said walking up to him.
I brought the flowers inside and put them in a nice vase. My father was happy to see that Steve stepped up to the plate and took me. He made us take a few photos. I finally felt pretty in my pink dress. I made it into a heart shaped floor length dress. It was silk with hints of white lace around certain points.
Steve walked me outside and opened the passenger side for me. My eyes looked up and saw Eddie walking out in his suit. I avoided his eye contact. Chrissy wasn’t around but I bet they were meeting up at school. She didn’t realize how poor he was. Steve finally got in the car and took me a different way than I knew.
“Steve where are we goin’ love?” I asked looking confused out the window.
“Well, I like to take the long way to school. I hope you don’t mind.” He added while turning up the radio.
After a while we finally arrived at the school. Everyone was here. I got extremely anxious. Mike and Dustin were infront of us checking in. It seemed like everyone knew what had happened because I felt stares from people I’ve never even talked to. Jason whispered something to his buddies as we walked past getting to the Gym entrance. It was starry night themed. Stars and lights hung from the ceiling. The lighting was just perfect. I looked at all the kids in the gym. Steve and I split up and I headed for the punch bowl. It definitely had some booze in it. I wandered around the Gym just soaking up the so called experience. Steve walked up behind me and gently put his hands on my shoulders and whispered something.
“He didn’t come with Chrissy, Y/N. I heard that it’s been rough for him the past week or so. He’s in here somewhere.”
I turned around in complete shock. I mouthed “Thank you” to Steve and walked away. Eventually I finally saw him. He was sitting by himself at the last table in the back of the Gym. He was drinking from a flask and hasn’t noticed me yet. I slowly walked up to the table.
“Is this seat taken, Eddie?” I asked softly, biting my lip.
“If you want to sit with a Freak like –” He said cutting off. “Y/N. Of course not. You can join me if you’d like. But I don’t know why you would want to.” He said taking another swig.
“I heard that you didn’t come with Chrissy. I wanted to see how you were holding up. Oh, a slow song. I wish I could dance with someone..” I said, sighing while sitting across from him.
He stood up and swayed a bit and walked over to me, sticking out his hand.
“Would you like to dance with me? I’d love to dance with you. I promise.” He asked as he grabbed my hand.
I smiled slightly and stood up. He guided us to the center of the gym and positioned us to dance. He gently put his hands on my hips and I wrapped my arms around his neck. We started swaying and looked at each other in the eye. I stepped closer to him and put my head on his shoulder. He rubbed my sides slowly. I picked up my head and spoke what was on my mind.
“Eddie, I accept your apology. It was just that I liked you so much, I was caught up in my feelings. I wish I told you sooner. Steve tried to help me but I didn’t want his help.” I said, biting my lip again.
“I’ve always liked you. The last few months I thought you were dating Harrington. He came to me a few weeks ago and mentioned some things. It really opened my eyes. The whole thing with Chrissy got out of context. She also used me to get Jason jealous.” He replied, bringing his face closer to mine.
“Well, in that case. I love you Eddie Munson.” I said before gently kissing his lips.
His smile lit up the room. I ran to the table we were sitting at and I grabbed my small bag and took out the tie that I made.
“I made this because I saw it in a dream. It’s a tie made out of one of the hellfire shirts. It was supposed to match my dress but it really doesn’t.” I blurted out to him while he took it from my hands.
“You…You made this for me? This is the best thing I have ever received. I will cherish this forever Y/N. Just like how I’ll always cherish you. Will you be mine?” He said slurring slightly.
“Always and Forever. Eddie Munson.” I replied resting my forhead against his.
I hope it wasn't too bad! I'll take any requests if anyone likes!
Hellcheer week day 1 - D&D
“And why exactly are we still at school on this lovely Thursday afternoon?” Billy asks, lying flat on the hood of the Camaro. It says a lot of how fond he is of Chrissy that they’re still here, a good fifteen minutes after basketball practice has let out. His curls are still damp from the shower, sweaty exercise gear shoved in his bag. It’s warm enough for October, the trees starting to take on shades of amber and gold.
“I’m sorry,” Chrissy says quietly, swinging her legs back and forth. Unlike Billy, her legs barely graze the ground, white sneakers gleaming in the sunlight. “I know you have a date.” Billy twists his head to look at her. She’s sitting upright, tugging the sleeves of her Hawkins Tigers jacket down over her hands, eyes anxiously focused on the far off doors to the school.
“S’alright,” Billy mumbles, because Chrissy never asks him for anything. Their friendship is weird, struck up despite…well, everything. He’s Billy Hargrove, local asshole, and she’s Chrissy Cunningham, high school queen. He’d always kind of seen her around, at games, in her uniform in the hallways, under Jason’s arm at parties. But it wasn’t until she’d broken it off with Jason a few weeks ago that he’d really gotten to know her at all.
Their friendship was sudden and unexpected, with the added joy of placating Neil and irritating the ever-loving shit out of Jason.
One of the other players had taken him aside at Carol’s last party to discreetly tell Billy that dating another player’s ex-girlfriend just isn’t on. Billy had merely grinned and walked away. He couldn’t give a shit about whatever stupid rules everyone else plays by. And even if she cheers when he scores a basket, gets a ride home in the Camaro every Tuesday and Thursday after Cheer practice, and he carries her pink backpack while she hunts for her History textbook in her locker, they’re definitely not a couple.
It suits them both for everyone to think so. But only Billy knows full well that he’s not the one she broke up with Jason for. And no one knows exactly how much Chrissy is not his type.
“I don’t want you to be late,” Chrissy says anxiously. She picks up his left wrist, angling it against the sun so she can see the time on his old watch. Billy lets her, watching the way her mouth purses.
“They’re running late,” Billy says casually, and she flinches.
“Who’s running late?” she asks, as though her voice doesn’t tremble with the lie. Barely a month into their friendship, they have lines that they don’t cross, wounds that aren’t ready to be revealed. They don’t mention the bruises clamped around his wrist like a vice, red fingerprints all in a row. They don’t discuss the way Chrissy pushes her food around on her plate, how she sits in the camaro with him at the quarry, watching the sun dip below the skyline, just so she doesn’t have to go home. He doesn’t bring up the chunky silver ring that she's taken to wearing on her thumb, even though he knows it’s not hers.
They both have secrets. Being aware of this fact doesn’t mean that they’re ready to discuss it.
“Hellfire,” Billy says, turning his face towards the sky. It might be easier if he doesn’t look at her. “It's a bit late for them, isn’t it?”
“I don’t know,” Chrissy says faintly, and Billy smiles.
“They’re usually out by now,” he muses, wondering if he’s going to hell for teasing possibly the only and best friend he’s ever had. But hey, he needs some entertainment if they’re going to sit here waiting for the dorks to come tumbling out of those doors. He knows very little about the D&D club, bits and pieces picked up from the kids. He learns most of it by osmosis from an unwilling Max, who frequently complains about all of her friends being busy. “Unless they’ve got one of those big campaigns going.”
“They don’t,” Chrissy says, without missing a beat and one of her feet smacks into the bumper. Billy hums vaguely and closes his eyes against the sun. Some days he can almost pretend that he’s at the beach, letting the sun beat down on his face. But lately, it’s not too painful to open his eyes and find that he’s in Hawkins instead.
“You know, don’t you?” Chrissy asks hesitantly, and Billy cracks open an eye. Her face is almost adorably vulnerable, the intricacies of her heart cracked open for Billy to see.
She’s like him in all the worst ways. She’ll smother her secrets and insecurities and wounds until they draw blood in her throat like razor blades. She has family and friends and she had Jason and he doubts that she ever told anyone of them about the thoughts that go through her mind, the dark and cracked parts of her.
It’s hard to care about something. It makes you feel raw, picked open by someone else’s love. Billy feels it every time Max falls asleep on his shoulder, when Chrissy climbs on his back after a winning shot, when Steve drops into the passenger seat of the Camaro like he belongs there. After his mom, he learned that people leave. Even if they love you, it doesn’t mean it’s enough to stay.
Chrissy gets what it’s like to have people who love you with conditions. He’d seen that straight away, recognising the cracks and fissures under her skin. How her smile would drop when no one else was looking. Her act is a sweeter one than his but perfection rots just as much as rage.
“I don’t know what you mean,” Billy shrugs easily, just as a crowd of people spill out of the doors onto the tarmac. Billy recognises the kids almost instantly; the dark curls of Mike, Dustin’s baseball cap, Will’s fingers tapping against his sketchbook, Lucas bounding ahead of them all. And even though a good deal of the older members are in Billy’s year, he couldn’t tell you any of their names. They exist in the background, a face in his English class, the flash of a Hellfire t-shirt in the cafeteria.
He sees how Chrissy’s spine straightens, how her eyes brighten. It’s like she’s been flooded with light from within, made possible by this tiny glimpse across a parking lot. He doesn’t know how this happened, what brought the head cheerleader into the same solar system as the dungeon master but he doesn’t question it. Love has made Chrissy sharper, stronger, more colorful, just as it’s softened all of his edges. She’s not afraid to take up more space, take what’s her’s, all the love and adoration that she deserves.
“We can stay longer if you want,” Billy says quietly, and she curls her delicate fingers around his.
“Thanks,” she says, and doesn’t take her eyes off the lone figure in the distance. She won’t go over there, not with the club still milling around, a few cheerleaders still lingering by their cars. It’s enough for her to have this small glimpse, just enough for her to get through to the next day.
“I know you know too,” Billy says, after a beat. It’s a lot, offering his own heart up on a plate, for her to see and judge and measure. But she merely squeezes his wrist tightly.
“I don’t know what you mean,” she lies, an echo of his own words. Content, Billy tips his head back and lies in the sun to wait, letting her drink in the sight of Eddie Munson for just that little bit longer.
This is probably my least favourite thing that I’ve written for Hellcheer week? I’m still not happy with it but I think I’ll write more BFF Billy and Chrissy in the future. If you want to, you can check out them being besties with idiots boyfriends here. I didn’t finish the kink prompt in time but I will and post it after Hellcheer week!
Already in a relationship w/ Chrissy
~♡~♤~♡~♤~♡~♤~♡~♤~♡~♤~♡~♤~♡~♤~♡~♤~♡~
I sat in my final period of the day and thank God it was spring break once this class is over I can't wait to see Chris.
15 minutes pass and the bell rings and immediately grab my black backpack, and pull out my cassette player, and start to listen to the souxie and the banshees cassette, that I got from a friend I made while I was in England. I leave the classroom and start to walk to Chrissy's and I's normally spot, behind the bleachers, on the football field, once I got there, i see someone else was there with chrissy,
Eddie Munson.
"Hey y/n". Chrissy says with excitement walking up to meet me half way, giving me a big hug. Once she let me go she says "You know Eddie right". "Babe I've known Ed since middle school". I say in sweet tone. "After they heard my band at the talent show they came up to me and said 'oh my god that . was . amazing wanna be friends. And I said yeah or something like that". He says in he's normal tone of voice just slightly enthusiastic.
"Hey, don't you have the hellfire club today? right?"I say to eddie "Oh shit,". He says in a whisper "Yeah I do thanks for reminding me". Eddie says, grabbing his leather jacket with the denim jacket on top. "Ed, can we go to your campaign meeting today? please". Chrissy says giving him her 'please say yes' face. "God, you're really twisting my arm here; fine you can join us today but, you have to help if someone dies, ok?" Eddie says, chrissy give me a hug full of excitement. Chrissy has never play D&D a day in her life so she must be ecstatic to play for the first time. "So you and Jason aren't a thing anymore?" Eddie says, me and chrissy were dating for 3 months before she broke it off with him. He took it well minus flipping out on chris and saying stuff like 'you can brake up with me' and slut shaming her even thou she had never dated anyone before him, even if she did date around before jason, she shouldn't be slut shamed. "Yeah I broke up with him 2 weeks ago" chrissy says sounding upset, her face now frowning, her grip on me tightens , it was quite a rough break up but I helped her though it.
I than put my index finger under her chin and gave her a kiss on her nose, she laughs and has her usual cute smile. "Ok let get a movin', I don't want the guys to yell at me for being late". Eddie says, gesturing for us to start walking, we do so. Chrissy holds my hand like her life desires on it "Chris, is something wrong? you can tell me, kay". I say, my brows furrowing with worry. "I'm just stressed because I've been seeing things and it's really scary". Chrissy says, a glent of fear in her eyes " Oh sweetie, do you want to listen to some music? I got your favorite, Lesley Gore, just so you can de-stress". I say in a warm tone.
"Yeah, that'd be nice". She says with a small smile on her face.
I take off my headphones and give her them and the cassette player after I put in the Lesley Gore cassette in it first. "Alright babe, you're go to go now". I say before I give her a kiss and rap my arm around her. She than put on the headphones and start to listen to the music but the music is low so she hear . "Ok, love birds, we're here" Eddie says, a smug look on his face, as he opens the door for us. Both me and chrissy giggle at what he said, we walk in and hear a few gaspes for the guys in there "Hey" is all me and chrissy can say before eddie says "I'm sure you guys are well aware of miss chrissy but I don't know her new romantic interest, I would like you to meet: y/n, a good friend of mine". In some sort of announcer voice. In my head I say "fuck it, I'll play along, it'll be more fun that way". So I do a little bowing motion.
They started to do there D&D thing meanwhile, chrissy is sitting on my lap her head on my shoulder, with her eyes closed, listening to the music. While I pet her back and occasionally kissing her forehead. Every time Eddie looks and us l flip him off and whisper a "fuck off" or stick my tongue out at him. Eventually I hear them cheering and I ask "What happened?" Confused, chrissy at this point has move down to a move comfy spot as I slump in the seat, her head was on my chest as the rest of her was on my stomach and thighs
"Well if you and your girlfriend weren't being all lovey-dovey you would know" says a little girl, I think her name is Erica with so much attitude. I had a face of disgust at her attitude but couldn't be mad for long because Chris started squirming, her face disgruntled, I started to worry. "Chrissy, baby, are you ok ". I say, raising my voice slightly. Chrissy raises her head, looks at me and , opens her eyes " Yeah, I'm fine some people are being loud". She says, her voice raspy with sleep. I let out a sigh of relief and my face relaxes " Ok well, we should go home now our parents are probably starting to worry where we are". I say calmly Chrissy than gets up, I follow suit after her. "Hey, do you guys need ride?" Eddie says with a smug look on his face, the answer is yes, both me and chrissy don't have licenses, my dad usually takes me to school and chrissy's mom brings her here.
"Yes Eddie, we do". I said deadpan. Chrissy clings to my arm, still sleepy, eddie laughs but not loud enough to upset Chrissy
We start to walk to eddie's van chrissy still listening to music and she says quietly "I love you, babes" my cheeks go tomato red, this is the first time she's ever said that I rub her shoulder and say "I love you too".
~♤~♡~♤~♡~♤~♡~♤~♡~♤~♡~♤~♡~♤~♡~♤~♡~♤~
Another a/n: I kinda making this as an early birthday thing for chrissy. I was bored late last night while watching edits of chrissy and eddie. Those were me motivation for this
Feel Good Drag
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Chrissy Cunningham, Eddie Munson x OC (eventually)
Summary:  Natalie and Eddie had been best friends for a few years since she moved to Hawkins. The pair had been inseparable...until Chrissy Cunningham came into the picture.
Trigger Warnings: Suicide attempt, overdose, eventual sexual assault/rape in the next chapter/part.
Notes: I decided not to really describe the OC so the reader can imagine them however they want. The only definite/clear describer (is that a word?) is that it is a she/her OC.
Eddie
Eddie carefully packed away his notes after another successful DND session. He was going to have to put more thought into these games—he was making it too easy. But, if he was being honest, he had a lot on his mind lately, and DND was on his mental back burner.
“What do you call a sleeping bull?” Dustin asked, giddy from defeating one of the main villains from the newest campaign.
“I don’t know; what?” Chrissy asked, genuinely stumped.
“A bulldozer!” Dustin exclaimed, laughing hysterically while the others groaned. Chrissy’s giggle seemed to float on air.
Chrissy.
The last two months had been nothing short of mind-blowing. Eddie knew Chrissy was probably only fooling around with him to get back at Jason “Mega Douche” Carver, but he didn’t care—he would take any chance to be with Chrissy.
The only person missing from this great group of friends was Nat. It had been weeks since she made it to a session. He honestly couldn’t remember a time when she wasn’t around since she moved to town 3-years-ago. He had taken her under his wing on her first day of school and they had been inseparable ever since. Until now, it seemed like.
“Dustin, didn’t you invite Nat tonight?” Eddie asked while packing up his dice.
“I did. She said she would try to make it,” Dustin replied sadly.
Eddie grimaced, guilt gnawing at his gut. He and Nat used to be very close—passing notes in the hallway between classes and spending nearly every night together while she hid from her step-dad—but when Chrissy entered the picture, everything started to change. Soon, she stopped visiting his trailer,  the notes became less frequent, and instead, they barely made eye contact in the hallways. Eddie didn’t think he was that absorbed with Chrissy, but maybe his tunnel vision was worse than he thought.
“I’ll talk to her tomorrow,” Eddie said, more so to himself than to anyone else. He knew he had been a shit friend lately, but he was determined to fix it.
And then, suddenly, Chrissy said, looking up at him with her big doe eyes, “Eddie, are we going back to your place?”
Just like that, Eddie’s guilt vanished. He couldn’t say no to Chrissy.
“Anywhere you want, princess.”
Eddie and Chrissy stumbled into his trailer, leaving a trail of clothes to Eddie's room.
“We can hardly even get through the door,” Chrissy teased, breathless. Eddie chuckled while planting kisses on her neck.
“You could help by not being so gorgeous.” Eddie pushed Chrissy against his bedroom door, reaching behind her to grab the handle and open the door.
“I could say the same to–woah!” Chrissy let you a yelp of surprise as she slipped on something on the floor and fell backward, pulling Eddie down with her. The pair erupted with laughter.
“Sorry,” Eddie wheezed, “The maid took the day off.”
Chrissy laughed so hard she could barely catch her breath. Eddie reached down to grab what they had tripped on and stopped in his tracks.
“What the–” He picked up his lunchbox, now a bit dented, and saw its illegal contents strewn on the floor.
“What’s wrong?”
“Someone’s been in my room,” Eddie replied, scanning the room for anything else out of place. His most prized possession, his guitar, was safely hanging above his dresser, but his dresser drawers were pulled open, and every item tossed around.
“Someone broke in to steal your stash?” Chrissy asked.
“Well, they didn’t take anything… Everything is still here,” Eddie said, picking up baggies off the floor. “Even the money. Everything’s here… hmm, except…”
“Except…”
“I definitely unlocked the door, right?  Eddie made his way to the front door, scooping up his Hellfire shirt and tugging it over his head.
“Yes. You had trouble getting the key into the lock, remember?”
Eddie opened the door and looked down at the flower pot next to the front step. The pot had definitely been moved, which meant someone knew that’s where the spare key was.
That’s when it dawned on him: Nat was the only one who knew where that key was. Before Chrissy, she practically lived at Eddie's to hide from her creepy step-dad. Anxiety bubbled inside Eddie; Nat wouldn’t break into his trailer to steal a bunch of pills, would she?
He needed to know—now. Eddie ran over to the phone and dialed Nat’s number from memory.
Ring, ring, ring…
“Parents are probably passed the fuck out,” Eddie mumbled to himself and dialed again.
Ring, ring, ring…
Eddie clenched his teeth. He dialed Dustin’s number—maybe he would know what was going on.
“Henderson residence, Master Dustin speaking,” Dustin’s bright and cheery voice answered.
“Have you heard from Nat since you got home?” Eddie asked quickly, worry seeping into every word.
“I haven’t; everything okay?”
“I don’t know. Can you see if anyone else has heard from her and meet me over at her place?” he said urgently.
“Yeah, sure, man. Are you okay?”
“Thanks.” Eddie put the phone back down on the receiver, a bit harder than he intended.
“You don’t mind going for a ride, right?” Eddie asked Chrissy, who had been patiently waiting for him.
“No, let's go.” Chrissy nodded and followed Eddie.
 Eddie was thankful it was dark out so Chrissy couldn’t see him white-knuckling the steering wheel. Maybe he was being paranoid. After all, Natalie wasn’t even big on drugs. Sure, they had smoked weed together, but she wouldn’t touch the stronger stuff. Maybe someone got lucky and found the key on their own.
Someone who also knew exactly where he hid his stash?
Eddie got to Nat’s house in record time. The lights were still on in the lower windows, the glow of the TV flickering behind the curtains. Eddie saw that Dustin had beaten them there and was already banging on the front door.
“Pretty sure Creeper Craig is awake. He’s probably just too stoned to figure out how to get up and open the door,” Dustin quipped when he saw Eddie and Chrissy approach.
After another round of angry thumping on the front door, it finally opened.
“It’s about fucking time,” Eddie pushed his way inside, guiding Chrissy in behind him. To Craig, he asked, “Where’s Natalie?”
Craig stared at the trio for a long moment, like he was processing Eddie’s words. “I guess she's up in her room,” he slurred. His eyes found Chrissy and lingered too long on the hemline of her skirt. He licked his lips. “You boys can go up there while this lady and I introduce ourselves.”
“No, thanks,” Eddie and Dustin said in unison.
They made their way up the stairs in front of them, keeping Chrissy closely wedged between them.  The hair on the back of Eddie’s neck stood up. He could count the number of times he had been in this house on only one hand, even after all their years of friendship. And the few times he had been there, he knew he made the right call in practically having Nat live with him for the past couple of years to get away from Craig.  She hated him. Eddie didn’t think he had actually done anything, but the comments Craig had made to Nat made his skin crawl.  Her mother, of course, didn’t believe any of it and allowed the creep to stay.
Once the group reached the landing, they walked to the end of the hall and knocked on the door at the end of it.
“Nat?" Eddie pressed his ear to the door, trying to listen for any noise on the other side. When he didn’t get an answer, he turned the doorknob. The room was dark, but Nat’s record player was on, the needle scratching on a record that needed to be turned over.
“Eddie.” Dustin pointed to the light glowing from under Nat’s bathroom door.
Eddie gave a couple of gentle knocks. “Nat? Are you in there? It’s me and Dustin…”
When he got no response, Eddie gave the door knob a light twist. His heart began to race when he realized it was unlocked.
When he opened the door, it was like the air vanished from his lungs. Eddie thought his brain had stopped working. There was no way he was actually seeing what he was seeing.
“Nat!” Dustin rushed past him, kneeling on the cold tile. He shook the girl who sat slouched on the floor, unmoving. “Oh my god. Nat! Eddie, I think she's dead!” Dustin sobbed, his voice cracking, still shaking Nat, as her head rolled from side to side.
This wasn’t happening. Eddie’s brain buzzed with nothingness.
Eddie kneeled down and pressed two fingers to Nat’s neck. He found a weak pulse—thank god. He needed to wake her up. Eddie grabbed Nat from under her armpits and dragged her to the shower behind them and turned the cold water on. The water sprayed him and Nat mercilessly, but he didn’t care—it was like he couldn’t feel the temperature.
“Dustin, go call 911.” Eddie instructed. He felt surprisingly calm as he continued to shake Nat. She would wake up, he kept telling himself. She had to wake up.
Chrissy stood in the doorway, frozen, tears running down her cheeks. “Oh, my god,” she said over and over.
“Time to wake up!” Eddie splashed cold water on Nat's face. He swatted her gently, but she was stubborn. “Come on Nat, you need to wake up.”
Eddie wrenched her mouth open. He didn’t think twice about sticking two fingers down her throat to get her to vomit. That did the trick.
“That's it,” Eddie encouraged, not even sure if Nat could hear him when she wretched and gagged. “See, you’re okay. You’re okay.”
“They’re on their way.” Dustin ran back into the room to see Nat stirring. “She’s alive?”
“For now,” Chrissy answered quietly.
“She's going to be fine,” Eddie snapped. “She just needs to get this shit out of her stomach, and she is going to be fine.”
Eddie could hear the sirens in the distance. Dustin ran downstairs to meet the ambulance in the driveway and led the EMTs to Eddie and Nat. They very nearly had to pry Nat out of his grip to get her on the stretcher.
"What did she take?" One of the EMTs barked.
"Oxy...Oxycodone." Eddie cursed himself for having it.  His supplier wanted to see how the stuff would sell, but Eddie wasn't crazy about pushing it.
“Do you know how much she took?”
“I–uh–I’m not sure,” Dustin stammered.
Eddie struggled to remember how many pills he had left. “I don’t know."
The trio wordlessly watched as the EMTs worked on Nat. Creeper Craig and Nat's mom were nowhere to be seen. The group followed the EMTs out of the house and watched in silence as they loaded her in the back of the ambulance and sped away, sirens blaring.
Spring Break Of '86 (8)
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson x Reader
Warning(s): Mature; swearing
Summary: Instead of enjoying a lavish spring break with your college friends, you were off running around Hawkins dodging the police with Eddie Munson, your ex.
Word Count: 2.2k
++++
"I'm sorry about Chrissy. She was a very nice girl, and I hope that you can heal from this one day." A scowl fell on his face from the way that you had ignored his initial question. His grip grew tighter, but you only continued to look at him with sympathy.
"I don't want to hear it, especially not from a freak like you!" His words dripped with venom as his free hand clenched and unclenched at his side.
"Now, where's Munson?" You only sighed and reached up, holding his wrist. Your chewed and jagged nails were sharp as they dug into his flesh.
"I don't know where Eddie is. We broke up months ago. Let go of me and finish saying your goodbyes, or we will have a problem." Your nails had finally broken skin as blood began to bead up from the wound. He hissed and ripped his wrist away, only causing more damage to the thin delicate skin.
"Listen, Jason, Eddie might be everything you hate, but he isn't a monster. Think about it, has he ever fought back against his bullies? He's a runner, and most importantly, he would never kill anyone, let alone Chrissy–" You were silenced at the fist that met with your eye. Your vision went blurry as you collapsed on the floor and cradled the side of your face.
"You don't get to say her name! And that fucking freak may not be a monster, but he is a psychopath!" A silent groan slipped past your lips as you slowly tried to stand up again. Blinking a few times, your eyesight was still blurry as the muscle throbbed.
A humorless giggle escaped from your lips as you leaned against the porcelain sink. He took a step closer as his hands were balled in a tight shaky fist. "What's so funny?"
"I just can't believe that you resulted in physically assaulting me in a church of all places. You are going straight to hell!" Another wave of giggles swept passed your lips when you noticed how red his cheeks grew with rage. He snarled and raised his fist as if he was going to hit you again, but the bathroom door slamming open caused him to quickly lower it.
A little girl, no older than six, stood holding a stuffed rabbit and tilted her head at the two of you. "Jason? What's going on?"
"Why aren't you with mom, Lorie?" Jason asked, taking several steps away from you and towards his sister. "She wanted me to come to find you. She said, it's time to go home," she said, her eyes locking on yours. "Who's that?"
"Let's go, Lorie," he said, glaring at you one last time before taking his sister's hand. She looked around her brother to keep looking at you. You smiled and made a silly face which caused a smile to slip on her face as she waved goodbye.
"Hey, Jason?" He paused but refused to turn around to face you. "I owe you one," you promised, watching as he slipped through the door with his sister in tow. You threw your head back and sighed. Standing up to look at your reflection, the skin was tender and would start swelling in no time.
"Ah, shit."
++++
You found yourself trekking into the deep dark forest once again. You failed to get anyone's house phone number earlier that day, and with a lack of transportation, you were forced to surround yourself with the late night darkness of the woods once again.
You were grateful to see the boathouse as you broke through the trees. The day's events were finally catching up with your feet as your legs felt like jelly. Shuffling to the door, you gave a rhythmic knock to one of your favorite songs and waited. There was an eerie silence before the door cracked open.
Eddie looked a little cleaner than he did yesterday meaning he must’ve taken the liberty to shower. He smiled once he caught your eye and opened the door even more. He looked behind you briefly, ensuring you were alone before shutting the door once you were inside.
You quickly made your way to the little boat and slumped down. You raised an eyebrow in question as he stared at you. His gaze was heated and intense as he kept a steady gaze on you.
"What's wrong–?"
"Who did that to you?" Tilting your head, you tried to understand what he was talking about. It only took a few quick steps with his long legs before he was right in front of you. He climbed into the boat carelessly and placed his hands on your cheeks, pulling you closer. His thumb brushed against your cheekbone, which caused you to wince.
The crisp wind had actually cooled the damaged skin to the point that it no longer throbbed, but it was still very delicate and sore to the touch. You had almost forgotten about the swollen skin around your eye if he hadn't pointed it out. "This little thing? It's nothing–"
"Bullshit. What happened?" Sighing through your nose, you flinched again as his finger danced around the edges of the bruise. "Jesus, stop touching it dickhead. It hurts," you scoffed and pried his hand away from your face, caging it into your grip so that he couldn't reach up and touch it again.
“You’re just a fucking baby,” he mocked. The two of you sat staring at one another before bursting into a fit of giggles.
Once upon a time the two of you were best friends and that only grew once you had started dating. It almost felt as if the two of you were back in his room, teasing each other and laughing about nothing important. When the two of you were still happily together, and Eddie wasn’t wanted for murder.
Once the laughter had stopped, his hands began to massage your own in a silent apology as he continued to observe your face. The smile on your faces was soft as you stared at each other in the musty boatshed. There was always something about Eddie that always managed to catch your attention in ways no other person had truly had.
"I just had a little scrabble with this kid at Chrissy's funeral is all. I’ll get him back though," you said thinking about how you’d like to return the favor. Eddie's lips twitched down at the mention of Chrissy's name. His eyes lowered towards your interlocked hands as he could no longer maintain eye contact. You saw the way that his shoulders sagged and how he curled into himself.
"She had a beautiful funeral, Eds. A lot of people showed up to pay their respects." He looked up at you through his eyelashes as a half smile took over his face, not quite meeting the look in his eyes.
"Yeah?"
"Mhm, she made a lot of people happy, and once all this blows over, I'll make sure to take you to see her grave," you promised. He nodded and took a shaky breath, no doubt willing away the tears. You had absentmindedly begun to rub small circles on his hands like he had done for you as he collected himself.
Eddie could play the confident knight or the blubbering fool; however, you could see him underneath all those layers he portrayed to everyone else. He was raw. You could see the things that make him tick, the things that make him break, and everything that could build him up. He was way more transparent than everyone gave him credit for.
Shrugging off your bag, you held it out to Eddie. He shifted closer to the point where your knees touched, his head tilted in curiosity as he grabbed the bag.
He unzipped the zipper, and his eye lit up the contents inside. At the very top was your flask that was a few gulps away from empty, a baggie that held two joints, a book nestled on the side, and the rest was just food you had stolen from your parent's cupboards.
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you," he chanted before kissing the side of the flask. Opening it, he tilted his head back to get a good swig on its contents inside. "Not enough to get drunk, but it should take the edge off of everything," you said, watching the way his Adam's Apple bobbed as he swallowed.
You observed the grin on his face. It was nothing short of contentment as he greedily opened the baggie and pulled out the first joint of the night. You smiled, enjoying his silent cheer of delight as he searched his pockets for a lighter.
"God, you're the best," he mumbled with his lips around the blunt. You only hummed in reply and kicked off your shoes. You laid sideways in the boat and allowed your legs to dangle towards the sides.
He followed your lead and sat hip to hip next to you. He took a few puffs before offering it to you. Plucking it from his fingers, you took a hit and passed it back. The two of you sat silently as you chased the feeling alongside each other.
It wasn't long before the blunt reached its end, despite the tip almost disappearing between his fingers, Eddie attempted to puff away. When he finally snuffed it out, he turned his head to look at you. Smiling, you eventually turned your head towards him to see his face clearly. The lamp flickered as it created shadows along his visage.
His half-lidded eyes studied your face before settling on your lips. He lifted one hand and caressed your cheek as he refused to look away. The tension was pulled tight and only grew tighter as you slowly leaned in. You could feel the invisible snap of the ambiance from the feeling of his bottom lip brushing against your own. You didn't know if you were hearing his heartbeat or your own with how loud the sound was ringing in your ears.
His lips were chapped, but they were still incredibly soft and tentative. You could feel your surroundings float away as your eyes closed, and you succumbed to the feeling of Eddie Munson. He tasted of whisky and weed with the hint of something nostalgic. He groaned at the slight nip to his bottom lip as he pawed at your jacket to bring you closer. As you tilted your head to deepen the kiss, your head bumped the side of the boat.
"Ow," you mumbled, pulling away to cradle your head. He released a soft smile as he reached over to draw you closer. He kissed the injured spot before his lips traveled down to kiss the bruised skin of your eye. You forced yourself not to flinch, seeing as it was a cute moment even though the most minor touches caused it to ache.
"I never wanted to break up with you," Eddie sighed, as his head leveled with your own. Your lips parted as you were about to speak, but he placed his hand over your mouth, knowing a sarcastic comment was on the tip of your tongue. "It's long overdue, but I am sorry. I am so sorry that I let you go. You were the best part of me, of us, and I ruined it all," he said, bringing his palm away from your lips.
He gently thumbed at your bottom lip as he stared deep into your eyes. You felt as if you were melting. You had dreamed of this, of Eddie, and now that it was happening, you were rendered speechless. A part of you wanted to run away, not to confront the situations quite yet, but Eddie had other plans as he continued talking.
 "I was insecure, and I wanted to be the man you needed, but I failed somewhere along the lines." He chuckled humorlessly, withdrawing his slender fingers away from your face.
"I didn't need you to be anyone other than yourself, Eds. I've always needed you to be the way you are, then and now." You cradled his head in your palms and forced him to look at you. A soft smile took over your features as you watched his pupils dilate.
"You wanna know a secret? I have never stopped loving you, Eddie Munson. I went on a few dates, but how could any of them compare to you? We're young, but I've never felt anything more real than what we had." His eyes grew glossy as he studied your face, looking for lies and deceit in your words.
You let out a wet laugh at the dazed look in his eyes. You caved into your desires and leaned again for a quick kiss. And you kept leaning in and out of quick kisses until he finally cracked. He giggled and tried returning the gesture, but his lips refused to uncurl from how large he smiled.
"Do you still love me?" he asked after his little laughing fit. You nodded, "I do, I always will. You wanna know something? I was actually considering becoming a nun if we never ended up back together."
"No shit?" He laughed again as his forehead rested against your own. Laughing you shrugged as you answered him.
"No shit. I was planning to be the new virgin, Mary–"
"You? A virgin? Now that's hilarious!"
Page 4: Candace Cameron Bure came out swinging again against commenters on a holiday pic she posted on Instagram of her and her husband Valeri Bure and kids Natasha and Lev and Maksim and she got a load of snark for the heavily retouched pic
Page 5: Karlie Kloss usually steers clear of dishing on her sister- and brother-in-law Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner but on January 6 Karlie broke her silence after Ivanka tweeted and quickly deleted a post calling a pro-Trump mob storming the U.S. Capitol building American patriots and Karlie begged to differ tweeting that accepting the results of a legitimate democratic election is patriotic and when one Twitter user urged her to tell her brother-in-law and sister-in-law she lamented I’ve tried
* Olivia Jade Giannulli posted a clip of herself dancing maskless at a beach-house party and the New Year’s Day Insta came days after her mom Lori Loughlin was sprung from prison and the clip which featured her toasting with a glass of vino came less than a month after she aired her regrets in an interview -- the party girl feels she’s suffered too from the scandal and she was just letting off steam
* Rege-Jean Page has sent pulses racing with his groundbreaking role as the rakish Duke of Hastings in Bridgerton but it was his reference to James Bond’s legendary martini preference in a tweet that had fans speculating he’s in line to take over from Daniel Craig as the next 007 -- the biracial actor has been vocal about the importance of inclusive casting
Page 6: Jessica Simpson whose own father once bragged about her double Ds is enjoying a very particular benefit of her recent 100-lb slimdown which is she’s gone down two cup sizes and she says she feels more athletic and her body is more in proportion -- in addition to easing back pain she feels a different sort of weight has lifted because all that talk about her breasts made her feel they overshadowed her as a person
* Drew Barrymore is nursing a private pain as her ex-husband Will Kopelman went public with his new love Vogue staffer Alexandra Michler and the two are serious while Drew is still single and she is alone and feeling like the odd man out -- there are times when Drew absolutely regrets divorcing Will especially now that he’s dating again and Drew was holding out hope for a reunion but when she discovered Will was seeing someone new she knew there was a good chance it may not happen and even worse her own attempts at finding romance have fallen flat as she’s tried online dating a few times but had no luck
Page 25: Florence Pugh and Zach Braff had Hollywood abuzz after a pal wished her a happy birthday on social media and cryptically referred to her as FPB -- that extra B caused many to surmise that Florence has quietly exchanged vows with Zach and taken his last name and Florence hasn’t done much to shut down speculation by strategically hiding her ring finger in photos shared on Instagram
* Zoe Kravitz filed for divorce from Karl Glusman after 18 months of marriage because she was fed up with having an MIA husband -- things between the two hit a breaking point after Karl failed to check in with his wife while filming Please Baby Please in Butte, Montana -- Zoe couldn’t take being ignored and when she and Karl finally spoke they had a big fight and she pulled the plug shortly afterwards
