(fanfic asks for the new year)

8. Is there a story idea in your mental vault that you’ve never been brave enough to try writing? Is 2018 the year?

Okay so two things:

1. I’d like to try writing some original fiction that’s like... erotica for women who were big fans of Mercedes Lackey and Tamora Pierce and David Eddings when they were teenagers? It’s been rolling around in my head for a while but I’d like to try actually writing it this year.

2. I haven’t worked on The Start of Something Beautiful in a year and a half. It started out as a fic about how Kent got Kit Purrson, but then it turned into a fic about Kent joining AA and starting to wrestle with his problems, and it got to be more than I could write and I dropped it. I’m writing a fic now that, with Leave Your Lovers Like Campsites, would be a triptych with that fic, so I feel like maybe I’m coming closer to being able to go back to it.

In no particular order: 

- I like my hair colour because I finally let it go back to natural and it turns out its caramel coloured and that’s pretty cool. (although it does make the “blonde brunette or redhead” question weird because the answer is just “yes”)

- I am occasionally courageous, even if this is also usually stressful to me because I don’t let myself plan every possibility in meticulous detail (see: moving to a country I haven’t been to for eight years for a graduate degree) 

- I’m good at managing money

- I like my hands

- I can write good sometimes

What are some of your fav foods?

I usually say nachos, because they’re super quick and convenient for a late-night snack, so I eat them a lot, especially during the summer.  I have an enormous sweet tooth, though, too so like approximately 77% of desserts I am good with.  And I’ve been hardcore craving chicken fried rice lately.

I moved to Ireland two weeks ago! Because nothing says fun like “what could I possibly do to make grad school more emotionally taxing? I know! I’ll do it in a foreign country!” So uh, yeah.
