She finds the dvd in one of her old coffin cases, mixed in with past fliers for shows and a bunch of notebooks with lyrics written in them, both hers and Ricky’s handwriting all mixed together in something so chaotic it could only make sense to them at the time. The disc itself would be out of place, if not for the writing scrawled across it in handwriting that is obviously not hers. According to the date on it, it’s been twelve years. Not that she could forget. She turns the case over in her hands, sees a polaroid stuck inside it. The image is still as clear as day; the top of her head, the bottom half of Brandan’s face. Chris supposes that the picture was the before and whatever is on the disc is the after. And then everything that came after the disc, well, she doesn’t like to think about that as much.
