Y'all need to stop being so fucking mad at Teru for calling Kou weak- like seriously do y'all really think Teru meant it? Seriously look at him-

Do y'all not know how to read face expressions?? Ya we can't really see all his face here but still- he didn't want to say it he would never wanna say or do something that would hurt Kou on purpose. And personally I don't think he meant it. Why? Because of this

I want you to pay attention to who he's with for a second. It's Akane. And ya Teru could be lying but he's with Akane. Him and Akane are ALWAYS honest with each other even if it's just to piss each other off. Even Akane thinks they should go get Kou and even asks why they aren't going to get him.

Akane points out that this is the RED HOUSE- and he seems like he thinks Teru is kinda crazy for trusting his brother to be ok in a place like that. But even tho Teru is probably worried sick he trusts Kou to be ok in the red house. Teru isn't the kind of person to say what he feels he always puts it into his actions more then his words but the times he does say something about how he feels I highly doubt he's lying. Especially around Akane. If he was worried and really did think Kou was weak he would have agreed with Akane and go get him. But he didn't go save Kou. And he was right. Kou did just fine in the red house on his own.

My joke teruaoi translation from chp79 for @kawa-chan, they 100% aren’t saying this but I believe teru is talking about how Aoi is actually needed for a dream he has and Akane is thinking he wants to marry her in the future. Don’t quote me on this, I don’t know a single Japanese character~

In this chp (I think it was chp79?- ) Akane asked Teru why they weren't going to get Kou in The Red House (he even pointed out that The Red House is extremely dangerous-) and then Teru says ' if I know Kou he'll be fine. He is my brother after all. ' if Teru's lying then I'm calling bullshit- in this Teru's with Akane there ALWAYS honest with each other ALWAYS. So if Teru really did think Kou was weak he would have agreed with him. BUT HE DIDN'T!- he said he would be just fine and as long as Nene was with him she would to!- this is THE FUCKING RED HOUSE!- And Teru trusts Kou to be ok!?- i- and don't get me started on his face in that panel- Teru really does trust Kou and he was absolutely right. Kou fucking BOSSED IT IN THERE!- really thinking about it Teru isn't even that bad- like AT ALL- and I hate how easley people turn on him- because oh no!- he said something you didn't like! Welp time to say his character is going downhill and he's horrible- :> seriously wtf?!- but ooof course Hanako is given a MILLION chances- smh

Sorry this is a long reply- I always get excited when I see people FINALLY understanding Teru's character and actually seeing the bad things Hanako has done- thank you for your beautiful thoughts ^^

I thik the reson why most people get teru caracter wrong is because, to do it you need to look the story from a diferent perspective (and the hanako stand will never do thta)

Teru isn't bad and it's not only because of the " he is doing his job" is alos because evry single thisg he has done is to protect his brother. He tsue him and his power but he won't put him in unsesarly bad situation.

And abot the " he try to exorcist hanako and since he is the protagonist and just a baybe" it bad 🥺🥺🥺

Hanako given a second chance and the supervision of kou. But then bamm hanako gets crazy and kill a girl

Pluse the " you are weak" part , he then said thta he Envy that! Amd yes he may get a extreme at thta part but it not bad to bet your brother to have a normal life?

I agree. People are WAY to hard on Teru all because he tries to get in between HanaNene because that's ALL people care about. And when it comes to Teru calling Kou weak I don't personally think he meant it and chp79 explains why I think so perfectly (go reread it )

Teru isn't good he's SO morally gray and all he wants to do is protect the people he cares about and all Hanako has LITERALLY done is hurt the people he cares about so of COURSE he's gonna try and exorcise Hanako. People need to stfu and actually pay attention to what they're reading.

Ok so I might get attacked for this because I guess people aren't aloud to say mean things about Kou but it has to be said. So I'll do it.

Kou backstabbed Teru. Here's why and how.

To understand why I think Kou backstabbed Teru in chp87/85 we have to talk about some other things first. An analysis if you will.

1. What is there relationship like? And how it lead to chp87.

Kou and Teru are close tho they were closer when they were little but Teru has always built a wall between them from a VERY young age. Kou respects Teru to much to push the boundaries Teru has set since they were little. (I don't think Kou is scared of Teru like a lot of people think. If Kou was scared of authority he wouldn't go against Teru the way he does) they don't strike me as the share everything with each other siblings so they are close on a ground level. But past that not so much. Even tho I think Kou gets PLENTY of love at home ( Teru has shown to be very affectionate with his siblings and since Teru is busy a lot of the time probably. Kou and Tiara probably spend a lot of time together) being shown affection is different from feeling like you can talk to someone ( even tho I think Teru would love nothing more then for Kou to be honest and open with him Kou feels the wall Teru built is to thick because Kou doesn't feel like it's fair if he can feel like he can talk about his feelings but Teru doesn't) so when Nene and Hanako come into the picture Kou suddenly has these people that are willing to talk to him and willing to listen to him talk to.

2. Chp10/9

When it comes to this chp I don't count this in my argument. In these chps Kou is being confronted with the thought that maybe not all supernaturals are evil like Teru said. He's confused and it shows. Kou basically broke down to Teru saying how he doesn't feel like it's right and that he needs some time to figure it out.

And Teru gave Kou that time. Even tho Teru didn't agree he didn't shut him up. He listened and seemed like he was surprised and hurt even. not by Kou. but by the fact he had no idea he made Kou feel this way.

Teru doesn't even seem mad at ALL even tho Kou basically slammed him into the ground. He looks more worried then anything. These chps had really good character development for both of them later on.

3. The Red House. A trust that wasn't mutual.

Ok ok- I've talked about this SO much but I won't stop because this was HUGE for Teru's character development- in chp79 Teru and Akane are at the shrine well Kou and Nene are in The Red House. Teru finds out that Kou is in The Red House after the phone call. After their done in the shrine Akane asks Teru if there going to go get Kou ( saying how it's dangerous and that him and Nene could die in there) but instead of agreeing with Akane he tells him otherwise.

If Teru trusted Kou to be ok in a place like that well having Akane tell him otherwise is a HUGE step in his character.

Teru trusted him in a dangerous place even tho Akane thought they should go get them. He trusts Kou to keep Nene and himself safe in The Red House. But I guess that wasn't enough for Kou. Even tho Kou got a chance to prove himself in The Red House. Kou BOSSED it in there because Teru trusted him. If Teru really did think Kou was weak and didn't trust him he would have agreed with Akane but he didn't. It's just sad how the Trust Teru had in Kou was repaid with betrayal.

4. How chps 87 and 10 are different.

There is a HUGE difference between these chps. The situation is WAY different to. In chps 9 through 10 Kou is confused about how he wants to handle supernaturals as a hole. He needed time to figure it out and got that time but with a warning from Teru if he got in the way again he wouldn't let it go under the rug. In chps 85 and 87 the situation is WAY different. By now Kou has decided that not all supernaturals are evil (false btw) and said he would be on Nene's side no matter what ( I hated that sentence smh) and clearly decided to do what he did in chp87. He chose to side with Nene in turn siding and helping Hanako in the process. This is a VERY different situation from chps 9 and 10.

5. How he backstabbed Teru.

Welp we finally getting to the point of this post ^^ so with all of this said and even giving y'all insight on how I came to this conclusion you see where I'm coming from right? Kou 100% backstabbed Teru. and Teru was clearly hurt. Kou decided to side with Nene and Hanako and hurt Teru in the process. And Teru DIDN'T deserve it. Teru has pushed Kou away because he wanted to keep Kou away from the exorcist life. And Kou seems aware of this.

But despite this Teru has NEVER done this shit to Kou-

Kou feeling useless and like no one trusts him is not Teru's fault. Teru would NEVER want to make Kou feel that way and the fact that y'all really think he would is just proof that all y'all care about is the main three. All Teru did was try and keep Kou away from him so he doesn't have to go through the shit he did the fact that Kou felt miserable and useless Teru would NEVER do on purpose. Why do you think Teru seems always surprised to hear Kou saying that's how he feels? Because Teru never meant to make him feel like that.

I'm gonna make a part 2 because I still have reference panels for this and I'm running out of images I can put in the post also it's getting really long so I'll make a fallow up post later this weekend ^^ I hope I don't get attacked to badly for this but I'm sick of this being swept under the rug. All I see is poor Kou this poor Kou that- I'm sick of it. So if no one will call Kou out on his bullshit fine! I will.

Lol tho seriously I hope y'all like this analysis so far. I haven't made one this long in awhile so I hope y'all enjoy it even if you don't agree ^^ see y'all in part two! - sincerely a Teru stan who's still crying over them- TwT

OKAY IT’S MY TURN TO ASK SOMETHING

what are your thoughts on chapter 79? personally it’s my favourite chapter lol

Hmmmmmm an interesting chp to ask about. Lol I reread the chp so my mind is fresh for this.

I could touch on some things in this chp-

Well the head priest is an ass and I can't help but think Teru would burn the priests in a haert beat lol

This chp basically confirms that Teru's over worked and is probably made to do extra because the head priest avoids it like the plague- it also tells us Teru has in fact sacrificed his childhood to keep people safe and clearly doesn't seem happy about it.

I feel like Teru doesn't seem happy with his life when he talks about it...it seems like he thinks his life is more of a chore then a life.

This is also one of the reasons I hate when people say Teru's a heartless and uncaring ass- he literally said he sacrificed his childhood and any chance of it to PROTECT people?-

Anyway-

This is also the chp I constantly talk about because this chp showed beautiful character development for Teru when it comes to Kou.

In chp10 and 9 he was calling Kou naive. Saying how he shouldn't need to worry about this. To Kou it sounded like he was saying he was to stupid to understand. And it somewhat came off that way.

But in chp79 Teru's doing nothing but trusting Kou. Well you read my post so you probably get the jiff of it-

But you probably want me to talk about Terukane ya?-

Well in this chp....when Teru said he wanted Aoi to come back- and Akane asked if he liked her and Teru just looked at him....was probably the gayest thing I've ever read....

But not even from a shipping standpoint it makes ZERO sense for Teru to like Aoi-

Like fr it doesn't feel right. He barley knows Aoi at ALL and they barely interact. Why her when Akane's right there and makes more sense?- also he's NEVER looked at Aoi like this and I bet 20 bucks on it.

He fr looks like he's gonna cry- tho I wouldn't blame him. It probably sucks having one sided love not only that but have that person be in love with someone else and talk about it......ALL👏THE👏DAMN👏TIME👏

But Teru wasn't the only one acting interesting this chp-

Akane was to.

I feel like respect was written ALL over Akane in this chp.

Akane was ready to defend Teru because what the head priest was doing was unfair to Teru. Akane was so ready even tho he had no right to insert himself into this but he was willing. He was VERY willing.

He was even taking notes?-

Akane genuinely respects Teru and respects his intellect. He's genuinely listening to Teru break down and doesn't have a problem it seems with it.

This chp also had interesting character development for Akane because he shows genuine concern for Kou and whether he's ok in such a dangerous place.

It's so interesting because he's only really given a shit about Aoi and if she's ok- seeing him have genuine concern for someone else especially someone like Kou is definitely some character development.

He even somewhat asks Teru more about his feelings when Teru's haven't a break down?

Also him imagining Teru being a good husband to Aoi is also character development on how he sees Teru.

Ummmm- I'm not sure what else to add-

This chp felt pretty straight forward so I was only led to believe you wanted my Terukane thoughts lol
