Eric Whitacre

   This morning I happened to look up a version of Eric Whitacre's "Cloudburst," conducted by Whitacre himself at a TED conference.

And it completely blew my mind.

    Music used to mean absolutely everything to me. It was my reason for breathing at one point. I would actually watch conductors exams on YouTube. This is where a graduate student is leading a choir in some piece and being graded on his/her conducting skills.

  The chords, the harmonies, the dissonance......I can't believe I've stopped listening for this long. I felt a passion today that I completely forgot I had. This passion was started at Alaska All State Choir with Eric Whitacre's, " A Boy and a Girl," and I can easily say his compositions are what made me fall for choral music. Evidently, his compositions are what have kept this passion, too.

So....Thank you Eric Whitacre.
