Now? He was at his own wedding, watching his best friend leaving the venue, with you hot on his heels.

Akaashi awoke with a very sudden start. His mouth was dry and his throat was constricted. He couldn’t feel anything except for the tightness in his chest, and the panting breaths he laboriously took.

As tears rushed to his eyes, he began to tremble at the thought.

Did he really lose you to Bokuto?

With a quavering hand, he reached around next to him, expecting to meet your sleeping figure.

Unfortunately for him, he didn’t.

His eyes widened as he covered his mouth with one hand.

It was actually quite the opposite. You had awoke a little early and was enticed by the rising sun. So, you decided to make a mug of your favorite warm drink and cuddle up next to the window. Fuzzy blanket and yummy drink? Life was good…

Except, a few quiet noises broke your sense of bliss and heightened your sense of urgency. The noises sounded like labored gasps.

With a furrow of your brows, you placed your drink down on the end table and began to walk towards you and Akaashi’s shared bedroom, pushing open the ajar door.

When you opened it, your eyes locked with Keiji’s wide and tear filled ones. He looked like a lost puppy, absolutely terrified.

You immediately rush to his aid “Keiji? Sweetheart??” you close the door behind you for safe keeping. “Can you hear me, honey?”

Akaashi could only reach out for you shakily, still not convinced you were actually there.

You took his hand and immediately felt remorseful at its shakiness. “Hey… are you crying? My love, can you talk to me?”

You took your lover into a tight hug, pulling his head close to your chest. “I’m right here. Please don’t be scared.”

Keiji broke down in your grasp. His cries were loud and desperate, yet laced with as much relief as a man could muster.

He hadn’t lost you.

Thank the gods.

You rocked your lover in your arms, running your fingers through his hair gently. “Everything will be alright, shhhh.”

“T-thought I… thought I lo-ost you.” He managed to whimper out.

“Oh, my darling. It was just a bad dream. I’ll never leave you, ever.” You replied in a sweet whisper.

Akaashi lifted his head to meet your eye, relieved to see you smiling back at him.

When you wiped his tears away, his worst fears were washed away.

You were here in his most vulnerable moment, and that’s enough for him.

Life with Bokuto as your husband means never ever a dull day. Your adventures are endless! Whether it’s new date places, or new foods to try for dinner, the two of you are always ready for a new experience. That being said, your husband is always unpredictable. But today…? The most unpredictable thing he’s ever done!

“Baby?” You ask, hanging your car keys on the coat hook near your front door. “I’m home from work, my love!”

You furrowed your brows and began to set down your belongings on the kitchen counter.

“Sweetheart?” You called.

As another silent moment went by, you decided to investigate your shared home. You began to look in all of the usual spots: under the kitchen table, in the bathtub, in the little nook between your bed and the wall.

Bokuto did like to utilize small spaces in his times of sadness.

Upon noticing he wasn’t in any of the usual places, you took a walk toward your living room.

You stopped dead in your tracks when you hear sniffles and choked sobs coming from the room.

“Baby?!” You exclaim as your feet move between rooms in a hurry.

When you reached the living room, you found your lover curled up under a fluffy blanket. He was… watching a movie?

“What are you even watching??” You asked, picking up the remote and clicking the info button.

Bokuto nodded his head, his flat hair moving along with it.

You returned with a bowl of Bokuto’s favorite chips, two (drink of choice!)s and your pajamas on. You set the bowl and the drinks down on the coffee table and cuddle up next to your lover.

In return, Bokuto lay his head on your lap and stretched out to his full height.

“You’re my new pillow now, Kay?”

You giggled and began to rub your fingers through his tousled hair.

“Of course my dear.”

The two of you sat in comfortable silence, watching Coco and enjoying your snacks.

“Hey babe?” You asked suddenly, taking a sip of your drink.

“Mm?”

“You totally cried over a kids movie.”

“(Y/NNNN)! Don’t bully me! It was so sad!” He whined as he put on a pouty face.

With a few clicks of the remote, the Tv had changed from playing Coco, to playing the Iron Giant.
