-2nd person p.o.v-
“surely this isn’t the right address..” you whispered to yourself as you looked at the house in front of you.
it was the house of trauma cleaners.
“su-jin are you sure this is the right house?” you spoke into your phone and she confirmed it.
with a light groan you approached the front door and rung the door bell.
you were then greeted by a girl.
“we aren’t interested in your company or it’s products” she quickly said before trying to slam the door shut but, you quickly used your hand to stop the door from closing.
“is sang-gu in by any chance?” you asked with a small smile and the girl opened the door with wide eyes.
“why? do you know where he’s gone?” she asked but you shook your head.
“sorry, i was told he’d be here” you apologised “by any chance do you know when he’ll be back?”
“no, he’s left and he’s not coming back. by the way who are you? you can’t just show up to a strangers house like this!”
“my name is y/n, i’m a friend of- i mean was a friend of sang-gu. i have some stuff i need to talk to him about which is why im looking for him now”
“good luck with that, the idiot hasn’t shown up for 2 days. seriously he’s supposed to be a guardian but he runs away from home” the girl annoyingly huffed “if you see him, tell him that his nephew geu-ru is worried”
“i see, sorry for disturbing” you then apologised and walked away from the house.
finding sang-gu was going to be harder than expected.
the next morning you got up bright and early to return back to the house you went to yesterday. you wanted to check if maybe there was a slight chance he turned up but, when you saw a young man putting up posters to ask if anyone has seen sang-gu you knew he hadn’t returned.
“excuse me. are you geu-ru?” you asked politely and he turned around and bowed before nodding.
“yes, have you seen my uncle? he’s filthy, loud but a good fighter” geu-ru responded loudly looking at the floor.
“no..but, i’m looking for him too. my name is y/n, do you want a hand putting up the posters?” you sent him a smile and he handed you a couple of them.
“make sure you stick them properly so that they don’t fly away in the wind. like this” geu-ru began to show you and you couldn’t help but smile as he explained how to precisely stick it.
however, it was soon ended short after you felt a hand over your mouth. you were then being dragged into the back on a 8 seater van, they did the same to geu-ru and even though you tried to fight. the men were too strong for you. they were taking you somewhere.
when you arrived to where the men were taking you and geu-ru, it all made sense. it was the people sang-gu used to do fights for.
they locked both you and geu-ru in the fighters ring. a beautiful lady wearing a dress entered and took geu-ru to the side. she took a selfie with him and then the men put geu-ru back in the fighters ring.
“hey! you won’t get away with this!” you yelled at the lady and the men in the room. they all ignored you.
“sang-gu, your uncle will be here” she held the missing sign up to geu-ru.
you sighed, there was no point in you trying to scold the assholes who had kidnapped you. you watched as geu-ru and the lady both chatted to each other. however, their conversation was cut short once a commotion could be heard in the distance.
sang-gu then burst through the door and geu-ru called out to him. the men tried to use force to stop sang-gu him but he fought them with ease. as usual.
“leave him alone” the lady announced and her men stopped trying to fight.
sang-gu ran straight to let geu-ru out.
“geu-ru. are you okay?” he looked over his nephew making sure he wasn’t hurt and then he saw you from the corner of his eye.
he couldn’t believe that you were there in front of him too.
“y/n..” he muttered under his breath slightly stunned before turning to the lady “what the heck is this?”
“uncle don’t be mad, your lady friend isn’t a bad person” geu-ru stopped sang-gu.
that’s when sang-gu decided to sit down and have a conversation with the lady. you stayed with geu-ru and the men as they played cards but, from the corner of your eye you were watching sang-gu. trying your best to keep an eye on him but, your view wasn’t great.
from what you could see it looked like a tense discussion and after 10 minutes sang-gu walked over to the table.
“what are you doing? let’s go home!” he called out to geu-ru before briefly looking at you. you were definitely going to follow them home because you still needed to talk with sang-gu.
the walk home was silent. sang-gu didn’t acknowledge your presence once and you didn’t even know how to start up a conversation with him. when you all arrived back at the original house, the same girl who answered the door in the morning was waiting for both gue-ru and sang-gu.
she snapped and had a go at sang-gu for not being responsible and running away from geu-ru. you couldn’t help but smile at the scene, she really cared about her friend. it was nice. once she had left, sang-gu was about to walk back inside. he was just going to ignore you. however, you knew you needed to talk with him so you stopped him.
“sang-gu!” you said loudly and he paused in his tracks.
he didn’t look at you and just hummed in response. why was he acting so ridiculous?
“this is your first time seeing me in god knows how long and you can’t even look directly at me” you scoffed slightly as you felt yourself begin to get emotional “after the accident-after what happened you…you just left without saying anything to me”
taking a deep breath in you tried to control your emotions.
“i had to move to a different city just to try to forget you. but, you never once left my mind” you continued while your lip began to quicker slightly.
sang-gu sighed loudly before attempting to walk into the house.
you wouldn’t let him get away this time.
immediately, you reached a hand and grabbed his upper arm. he froze in response.
“i know you blame yourself for what happened su-cheol but it doesn’t matter now. mistakes happen and you need to let go of the past. especially, with the mistakes we both made. i want you to be a part of my future” you said and sang-gu finally turned to look at you.
his eyes were glossed over and you raised your hand up to place it on his cheek.
his hand raised to go over yours and he held it there, letting himself be comforted by your presence.
letting himself be vulnerable.
tears threatened to spill from his eyes as he allowed himself to appreciate your presence.
“i’ve made too many mistakes y/n” he eventually breathed out closing his eyes.
“no..you haven’t. sang-gu no matter how many mistakes someone makes, they can always change. you just need to allow yourself to heal from the mistakes. try not to be so hard on yourself” you said in a soft voice to him.
and that’s when something clicked, sang-gu suddenly ripped away from your touch and glared at you.
“you aren’t my girlfriend, you don’t know the real me. we’re practically strangers so just leave” his tone was harsh and you couldn’t believe what he was saying.
“is that really how you feel?” you asked, your tone now cold to match his.
“what do you think?” he scoffed before walking to go inside.
just as he was about to enter the front door you called to him.
“you know? if you keep pushing people away you’ll be alone for the rest of your life. there are people that care and love for you but, you’re too blinded by anger to see it” you told him and it must’ve hit a nerve because he suddenly turned to look at you.
“and you’re one of those people? you didn’t even try to find me when i left and you didn’t even visit me in prison. don’t act like you care. just leave me alone” he spat at you.
even though you wanted to give him the same attitude back you just couldn’t do it. you knew he was only acting like this because of all the hurt he had been through.
“i give up sang-gu. i don’t know what to do to make you realise that i love you. i always have. and i will always continue to no matter what” with that last sentence you held back tears as you turned to walk away.
if not having you around was what sang-gu wanted then you’d give it to him.
you started to walk off, you needed to get out of there as soon as possible before you broke down.
tears slowly began to leave your eyes and you sniffled while wiping them.
suddenly, you felt a hand grab your arm and pull you to turn the other way. you were then met with sang-gu.
he examined your facial expression and before you knew it his lips were connected with yours, his hands moved to cup your face and you melted into the kiss.
after a couple of seconds you pulled away and he then pulled you into a tight hug, he was embracing you like he didn’t want to let you go.
“im sorry for everything, i’ve been an idiot and i’d like to have a future with you if you still want one with me” he whispered and you nodded instantaneously.
“of course, that’s all i ever wanted” you looked up at him as he continued to hug you.
he let out a smile and placed a soft kiss on your forehead.
he wasn’t going to let you go anytime soon.

“you’re all he’s got! you can’t just keep leaving for days at a time. for geu-ru you’re the only family that he has” you exclaimed at sang-gu “i’ll always be there for him but it’s different when it’s family like you”
“hey! old lady, why don’t you just mind your business?” sang-gu fired at you before walking up the stairs into the house and your eyes widened.
“old lady? old lady! hey! you’re literally the same age as me so if im an old lady you’re an old man” you shouted at him as you followed him up the stairs.
“don’t you have someone else to bother? we want to go to sleep” sang-gu turned to you again before slamming the door in your face.
“that asshole” you mumbled under your breath “as if i’ll let him have the chance to sneak out and leave geu-ru again”
you let out a yawn as you forced yourself to stay awake. it was the middle of the night and you felt like falling asleep then and there but, you were determined to keep watch.
“come inside” a voice suddenly said which caused you to jump up.
it was sang-gu.
“oh, how did you know i was here?” you asked him and he sighed.
“are you coming in or not? plus the owl who you love so much from across the road called me, she can see everything you know. you must want people to think im a bad person. they might get the wrong idea if they see you sitting there all night” sang-gu looked at the floor before gesturing for you to hurry in.
you held back a smile as you entered the house. in the living room area, sang-gu had his tent set up and there was snack wrappers and crumbs all over the inside of it.
“gosh! don’t you clean up after yourself? the smell..what even is it” you covered your nose as sang-gu let out a chuckle.
“there’s no need, it’s my man cave” he smirked before climbing inside of the tent and closing it “goodnight”
you let out a scoff as you sat on the floor next to the tent, your eyes scanned the shelves that held pictures of geu-ru and his dad.
tears prickled your eyes as you remembered the good memories that you also shared with them. you worked at the sealife where they used to visit all the time. it’s how you met them, whenever security would try to kick them out you always let them stay extra long because of geu-ru and his love for underwater animals.
after a couple of tears fell you hurriedly wiped them away and sniffled. you had to be strong.
“are you crying?” a voice asked as a pillow hit you.
“no” you quickly answered before throwing the pillow back to sang-gu who was looking at you.
“you were crying. i saw!” he then said and you rolled your eyes.
“so what? what if i was crying? im allowed to cry. im a human with emotions” you fired back and sang-gu awkwardly stared at you.
“i wasn’t saying there’s anything was wrong with you crying..i was just asking” he then gulped.
“yeah, well maybe next time don’t ask”
sang-gu didn’t say a word as he retreated back into his tent.
you sat by the wall in front of his tent and crossed your arms as you leaned against it. it wasn’t the most comfortable but it was the best spot to keep an eye on sang-gu.
you let out a sigh before closing your eyes. you needed some sleep. the distinct sound of sang-gu’ tent immediately made your eyes flick open.
“take this” he held out a pillow for you to take “that wall seems uncomfortable”
you sent him a smile before taking the pillow and using it to cushion your head. a content sigh left your lips as you closed your eyes once more
“‘thank you sang-gu. it’s so kind of you to give me the pillow’ ‘ah you’re welcome dear y/n’..seriously how rude. not even thanking me” sang-gu mumbled and you held back a chuckle.
you wouldn’t admit it but you enjoyed sang-gu’ company.
when morning arrived, you saw his tent still shut and geu-ru sat at the table eating breakfast.
“good morning geu-ru!” you chirped straightening out your clothes as you stood up.
geu-ru turned his head and greeted you quickly before returning to his food.
“gosh, i can’t believe that asshole is still asleep” you muttered to yourself making your way to the bathroom. you needed to freshen yourself up.
you happily swung the door open but was greeted by a naked sang-gu who shrieked while covering himself with a towel.
“fuck! what are you doing?” he yelled and you quickly closed the bathroom door again.
“uncle is in there” geu-ru then said out loud.
you cringed at yourself. you had just walked in on sang-gu naked. without a word you ran out the house and across to na-mu’ place.
she always let you use her bathroom and lent you clothes whenever you needed.
“what do you mean you walked in on him naked?” na-mu gasped as you slipped on a fresh pair of socks.
“i mean what i said. i can’t believe it” you sighed out loud falling onto her bed “i thought he was still in his tent! ah he’s never going to let me live this down”
“unbelievable! really. but hey, you want to be let in on a secret?”
you immediately nodded your head.
“you know how he sometimes sneaks out at night. well one time i saw him get into this beautiful woman’s car. i thought it might be his girlfriend or something but sometimes he comes home with bruises. i decided to follow him once and it turns out he does illegal fights” she explained and your mouth dropped.
————————————————————————————
“god, i can’t believe this pervert is showing her face around here” sang-gu gave you the side eye and you rolled your eyes.
“it’s not like i wanted to see you naked. your body isn’t something i want to stare at!” you shot at him and he scoffed with a chuckle.
“please, you were gawking over how hot my body was. have you seen how strong i am?”sang-gu smirked flexing his muscles as you felt your cheeks get warm.
“whatever” you commented turning away from him.
“geu-ru where are you off to?” you changed the conversation.
“a picnic, i usually go with dad but because dads not here anymore i will go by myself” geu-ru headed towards the front door.
“have fun!” sang-gu enthusiastically ushered geu-ru as he walked out the door.
“you’re unbelievable. you’re his guardian which means you need to watch out for him. go follow him and make sure you don’t get caught!” na-mu forced him out the door as he protested.
once she managed to get him out, she turned to you.
“you like him, don’t you?” she held back a smirk.
“what? of course not.” you immediately answered and she just nodded unconvinced.
“if you say so..i saw how nervous and shy you got when he made that comment about his body. really you and him would make such a cute couple..of course if he wasn’t himself. honestly he’s such a thug!”
you did your best to hide your grin as you began to dust around geu-ru’ house.
you didn’t know when it started but you did have feelings for sang-gu.
before you knew it, it was the evening and the pair returned home. you still wanted to keep an eye out but decided you didn’t need to sleep directly in front of sang-gu’ tent. so, instead you got permission from geu-ru to stay on the sofa, which is what you did.
you didn’t know when but you woke up to the smell of cigarettes. it was a smell that you always hated and you instantly knew sang-gu was up to something.
“why are you-” you began but when you stood up and saw his tent open you got curious.
after searching, you found him in the garage area kneeling down in front of an cabinet open.
you were about tell him off but after you heard sniffles, you knew that he was crying.
“sang-gu?” you asked in a soft voice and he scrambled to his feet shoving a damaged nike box back into the cabinet.
he slammed the doors shut and wiped his face before turning to you.
“what?” he asked, briefly looking at you before trying to walk past. you blocked him from doing so.
“can you stop being annoying and let me go back to sleep in my tent” he looked at the floor as he tried to get past you again.
“you were crying. i just want-” you began but he immediately cut you off.
“just stop! stop acting like you care and just leave me alone” sang-gu raised his voice and you flinched slightly.
“look, just leave me to do my own thing” he sighed taking out a cigarette and lighting it before finally pushing past you to leave.
you let out a loud sigh as you approached the cabinet that was still unlocked.
you debated on whether to snoop around or not. you rested your hand on the handle and considering the options. if whatever was in the cabinet made sang-gu cry then it was too much of an invasion of privacy. instead, hii closed the door properly and turned the key to lock the door before going back up to the sofa.
when you returned sang-gu was already back in his tent but, when you tried to go to sleep you kept tossing and turning. the possibility that sang-gu was still upset wasn’t a pleasant thought because being alone while experiencing something upsetting was never good.
you needed to check up on him and make sure he was okay.
getting up from the sofa you crawled on the floor as quietly as possible until you reached the front of his tent.
“sang-gu” you whispered in the hopes of getting his attention.
no response.
“sang-gu” you whispered louder and you could hear shuffling from within the tent.
a couple of seconds later, he opened it with a raised eyebrow.
“hey, old lady. i told you already. just leave me to do-” he began to say but you cut him off.
“yeah i know, leave you to do your own thing. the thing is though, i need to know are you feeling better at least? i know we aren’t the best of friends but you seemed really upset earlier and as much as i wanted to snoop in the cabinet to see why you were upset. i didn’t, i would never violate your privacy like that. im just going to say one thing though. ok? if you need to talk im here” you got everything off your chest as sang-gu examined your face.
“that’s it” you then awkwardly began to crawl back to the sofa.
“wait” sang-gu’ voice was firm and you gulped before going back into his view.
“yes?”
“come in here” he moved over to one side of his tent and gestured for you to go in.
“me?” you pointed at yourself and then at the tent he was in “in there? with you? but-”
“you said if i need to talk, you’re there. don’t tell me you were lying?” sang-gu teased and you instantly shook your head.
“i wasn’t lying. see? im getting into your tent” you quickly crawled in and sang-gu smiled before closing the entrance to the tent.
he laid down where slept and you sat crossed legs watching what he was doing.
he wasn’t doing anything.
“i thought you wanted to talk?” you poked his arm gently.
“later, im tired and it’s 2 in the morning” he mumbled and patted the space next to him “sleep”
“are you crazy? i can’t sleep in here. it’s too small and if anyone saw-gosh no” you shook your head.
“so what if they saw? we aren’t doing anything weird, just sleeping in the same tent. unless you want to do something weird”
“stop it!” you slapped his arm and he sat up wincing in pain.
“what? i thought- ah nevermind” sang-gu went back to lying down “you can stay up all night. im going to sleep”
you watched as sang-gu curled up in a ball and turned to his side to sleep.
“stop staring” he mumbled into his pillow.
“what else am i supposed to do? i can’t sleep in here” you pouted.
sang-gu huffed before opening his eyes and pulling you next to him. he then repositioned himself so that he had his arms around you. and so that his chin was resting on your choilder. you froze.
“now you can sleep” he smiled and your heart started to beat fast.
you were sleeping next to the guy you had feelings for.
he was practically cuddling you.
“old lady, do i make you nervous? i can feel you’re tense. if you’re uncomfortable i can let go?” he said into your ear and you gulped.
“it’s okay” you answered and he tightened his grip around you.
“im glad”
you couldn’t help the smile that played on your lips and you felt yourself enjoying his touch and company. you were still wide awake and many thoughts filled your head.
“old lady, can i tell you something?” sang-gu’ voice suddenly became a bit more serious and you hummed to let him know you were listening.
“all these years. i’ve been angry at my brother for a broken promise from when i was a kid. a promise he never intended to break. it wasn’t his fault. i’ve hated him ever since he broke his promise and i never wanted to see him again” sang-gu’ voice was quiet “i kept trying to tell myself that i was okay with him being dead and that it didn’t matter that much to me…but, im not okay. it does matter. y/n im not a good person”
suddenly you heard sang-gu burst into tears and he let go of you so, you slowly turned to face him. his face was wet and he tried to hide his face in his hands. your heart broke. you could understand why he felt so guilty but you also wanted him to know that it was all okay.
without hesitation you brought sang-gu’ head to your chest as you held him while he cried.
“you were a child, how could you have known? you know now though isn’t it? so you can try to let go of any pain that you have now. it won’t be easy but you have geu-ru and you have me. we care for you” you told him as he continued to break down in your arms “and how can you say you’re not a good person? you’re taking over geu-ru’ guardianship, your help out with the business and you care for those around you. you may not believe it but, you’re a good person”
sang-gu only nodded as comfort him some more. you ran your fingers through his hair and held him tight.
he never had anyone that he believed cared for him in a long. it felt like a weight had been lifted off of his chest as he slowly began to calm himself down.
once he managed to calm himself down, he looked up at you with a warm.
“thank you” he whispered looking into your eyes as you shook your head.
“don’t thank me-really it’s nothing” you returned the smile and tried to avoid eye contact.
before you knew it, you felt one of his hands on the side of your face and his lips pressed onto yours.
he was kissing you.
it took you a moment but you returned the kiss. you could feel him smile into the kiss and you did the same.
————————————————————————————
“geu-ru do you know where she is?” na-mu asked the boy in front of her.
he shook his head to say now.
“ah, how annoying really. she just disappeared, im going to ask your uncle” na-mu without hesitation went to open the zip of the tent.
“hey! sang-gu uncle, have you seen- AHH” na-mu began but once she got the entrance of the tent open she saw you sleeping peacefully next to sang-gu, she let out a scream.
this caused both you and sang-gu to wake up.
“y/n and sang-gu uncle? you guys…did you?” na-mu but she stopped herself.
“it’s not what it looks like” you tried to explain but sang-gu just mischievously smiled before pulling you in for a kiss.
“it’s exactly what it looks like” he the smirked after pulling away from the kiss “me and the old lady are a couple now”
