playing multiple death games for the foreseeable future wasn’t in nezumi’s plans for this year, but there’s not a whole lot she can do about it. so long as it kept her head above water and un-hollowed by a sky laser, she’d attach herself to whoever was winning the games or do whatever it took to win others.

now if only she could stay awake, and maybe find a new pair of glasses before anyone figures out she couldn’t see as far as she could throw a stone.

Dissolving Classroom ("Chizumi in Love) // Junji Ito

Junji Ito brain rot where Tomie, Pretty Boy, Chizumi, and Souichi all play Minecraft together. They have a server and built their houses, villages, etc.

Souichi being a try hard, staying up until 4 a.m, trying to learn red stone but ends up forgetting everything when he wakes up.

Chizumi who loves to collect loot from mobs. She definitely has a farming area.

Tomie is the best builder out of all of them. She built herself a castle and everything has little details everywhere.

Pretty Boy organizes their minigames. Those lucky/unlucky block game, obbys, bedwars, etc.

What if they had like a channel or something?

Scratch that. Tomie, a popular twitch streamer, randomly does a live that isn’t scheduled (which is out of the norm on her channel) and tons of people pop in and see Souichi being chased by creepers, Chizumi trying to the kill said mobs, and PB, in the distance, pointing an arrow at Tomie herself.

I need to draw a comic of this. BAD. Popularmmos is my childhood and that channel gave me huge inspo. Most likely will try an animatic with some clips from that channel.

Bonus:

Kouichi, Sayuri, and Souichi made a YouTube channel when they were like really young. They uploaded them going into the forest, pranking their parents, and Souichi chasing them with the Michael Myers theme song in the background, armed with kiddy scissors.

They eventually forget about the channel. They had all forgotten the password along with the email attached to it so now it’s just in the past.

Until years later and one night where Souichi is bored with a ruined sleep schedule, stays up at 3 a.m randomly, and tries to guess the emails and passwords to their childhood YouTube channel.

He gets it right after trial and error, and nearly jolts up. He texts Sayuri:

“U awake?”

And she responds:

“Yeah whats up”

He sends her a picture of the unlocked channel and can hear her loud ass gasp from his room.

They spam Kouichi’s notifications until he wakes up. Being mostly asleep, he can barely read, but after rubbing his eyes a few times he reads the words on the screenshot Souichi sent.

“No way”

It’s 11 a.m and their parents can’t understand why their kids are randomly getting along so well and recording themselves baking a cake with nothing to celebrate.

The little channel those three made blew up a bit over the years that went inactive. Some comments under their early videos were:

“Where are they now??”

“They were my childhood”

Turns out when the three of them were given unlimited wifi access, other kids had the same thing.

Anyway this is just an AU that I shall beta name: “if Souichi had a somewhat normal life”

Why? Because he deserves to experience the little things either friends and family. No matter how annoying that stinker is.

The more I think about It, the More I think dissolving classroom Is actually pretty good because the main characters are so interesting.

This post will be long, me rumbling about junji ito characters again, what a Surprise. Uuuuh.... Spoiler for dissolving classroom i guess.

I should re-read It. But the fact we don't have the full picture of the Azawa siblings Is so interesting. Yuuma: Lies a lot, he always put on a facade and we cannot trust NOTHING about what he says. But also, he seems that part of his facade Is actually true. It almost like he's putting himself in a deeper hole and doesn't know how to get out + sometimes his fake apologise do get mixed in his genuine One (aka: with Chizumi in love because he still seems apologetic to the kid and during the last chapter where he hides his parent heads. In that chapter he also start to cry and he had absolutely no reason to faking his apology, even Chizumi Is confuse and doesn't act smug until the final interview).

AND THIS IS SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING THAN A GUY WHO JUST PRETENDS ALL THE TIME!

Talking about Chizumi, she also really interesting, because we don't know what her deal Is. We get 3 different story from Yuuma on why Chizumi Is the way that she is... And they all contradict with each others. But also, I don't think we can take Chizumi words as gospel. This because Chizumi Is still Little kid, She probably makes a lot of assumption and she also doesn't seem to have a full picture of the situation, She Is pulled along with her brother. She surely more reliable on informations because she always speak what She thinks, but we still need to take her words with a grain of salt.

Can we also talk about the unclear opinion these two have of One another? At times they seem to hate One another, Chizumi calls his brother rotten and make his life harder while Yuuma literally try to kill her once. But also, sometimes they care for one another? In Chizumi in love She say: "if you make him melt, I'll hate you forever" and Yuuma stop to apologise, so in some weird way he doesn't want to be hated by her sister.

Also this???? They Stick with One another through thick and thin. And the question that Chizumi makes here Is not mocking or anything, Is a genuine question made by a kid that find herself in an uncorfortable situation. They care for each others in a fucked up weird way, and not always they aknowlege this.

And, at least for me, KEIKO! KEIKO IS REALLY INTERESSTING AND I LIKE HER CHARACTER!! Unfortunatly we don't see much about her, but from what i gather and from my personal interpretation, she's kinda the opposite of Yuuma.

She's confrontational, She's interested in making connection with the siblings, She's stubborn and She has a lot of courage! Even after the first chapter She confronts Yuuma eye to Eye and yeah, of course She Is scared, but She still confront him.

LIKE THIS IS SO COOL?? Keiko actively backing Yuuma in a corner! And yeah, It's also thanks to the news if Yuuma find himself in this situation, but if Keiko didn't survive and didn't help the news this wouldn't happen. And She does this while her brain Is partially melted. And if wasn't for the interference from THE DEVIL FROM BIBLE, She would have won.

Also, these sequence of panels are so Fire. The way She trys to stop him physically? The way Yuuma looks in Surprise? The way Keiko gets up from the wheelchair? This Is One of my favorite scenes in the whole manga.

THIS SO COOL, AND DISSOLVING CLASSROOM IS SO COOL!!! And here's the thing. This Is my interpretation of these characters, we know so little of the background of these characters that maybe my interpretation Is completely different from other people.

JUNJI ITO MANGA!!!

All of the horror manga I have are made by Junji Ito. I admire his works because his stories mostly involve body horror and surreal horror.

This list is a little bit different from the previous two. I couldn't find any favorite characters in some of the books, so I'll list my favorite stories instead!

Tomie

This is the first horror manga I've ever read, and it's beautifully morbid. The titular antagonist is irredeemable in every way, and I especially like how she can mutate her body and make clones of herself. She also appears in Shiver, which is the next book on this list.

Favorite Stories: Mansion, Hair, and Babysitter

This anthology was really fun to read! Each of the stories are memorable in their own ways, and I loved how some of them had surreal elements mixed in to make the horror more unique.

I gotta love the morbid humor in this one. It never fails to horrify me and make me laugh at the same time! It even includes a bonus story at the end of the book!

Favorite Character: Chizumi Azawa

Junji Ito is one of the people who made me love J-Horror, and he's a very talented writer too.

junji ito made such a good villain in yuuma tho b/c that kids powers arent based in his own transformation into the physically grotesque but the visuals of the horror he creates juxtaposed against his benign character design. just the idea of a man who causes people to melt if he apologizes to them is fantastic. and he obviously Knows he has this affect but he cant/wont stop himself? theres no stereotypical sociopath language/aesthetic even tho he is a serial killer with intent. also he still loves his demon little sister and will do many questionable things for her? good shit. also the chapter where we learn he keeps bringing his parents back to life knowing his power will kill them. is it a contnous revenge fantasy against his abusers? is it genuine love for his parents despite their abuse and fruitless desperation b/c he can’t control his compulsive destruction? hm
