Teaser Visual for "Chiruran Shinsengumi Requiem" Stage Play Revealed

To promote advance entries for the tickets started on its official website yesterday, the official Twitter of the upcoming stage play adaptation of Eiji Hashimoto (art) and Shinya Umemura (story)'s Chiruran Shinsengumi Requiem jidaigeki manga posted a teaser visual featuring its two main cast, 29-year-old Toru Iwaoka and 26-year-old Souta Hanamura, both are member of dance vocal unit Da-iCE. Their characters in the play have not been announced yet.

  The manga series featuring the members of Shinsengumi, a special police force organized by the Tokugawa Bakufu in the end of Japan's Bakumatsu period, in the 1860s, has been serialized in Tokuma Shoten's Monthly Comic Zenon since its October 2012 issue and currently 17 tankobon volumes are available in Japan. The stage play is directed by Shunichi Okamura (Samurai 7, Azumi) and is scheduled to be performed at Morinomiya Piloti Hall in Osaka from April 7 to 10, then at The Galaxy Thater in Tokyo from April 20 to 30.

    Manga "Chiruran Shinsengumi Requiem" tankobon 1st and 17th volume covers

       The manga illustrator has also serialized its comedy spin-off series Chiruran 1/2 that also features

the Shinsengumi members, but telling their daily life in deformed style on the same magazine since

May 2016. And its TV anime adaptation has been aired in Japan since last month and is currently

available to Crunchyroll members worldwide except for Asia.
