Loewe Sun ‘Loewe' released its Fall 2019 ‘Publication’ on July 3, 2019 starring Chinese supermodel Fei Fei Sun. The limited edition hardcover release features photography by Fumiko Imano. The new Women's Fall/Winter 2019 Publication features Sun photographed in Paris' ‘Maison de l’UNESCO' in looks from the collection styled by Benjamin Bruno. The photographs show her playfully engaging in a serene ‘living’ still life, posing with exotic floral arrangements by house florist Amy Humphrey and joined by photographer Fumiko Imano and her digital doppelgänger. Imano is a London, Paris and Hitachi-based artist and photographer is known for her signature cut & paste collage self-portraits, which depict her in double with an “imaginary twin.” The photos are whimsical yet elegant, understated not oversaturated. The wardrobe sticks to subtle blacks and whites, but the real exploration lies in texture and material, with Sun enveloped in a black headscarf, a pearl-encrusted jacket and a shimmery metallic midi skirt. The Fall 2019 collection emphasises a strong silhouette, which Sun epitomises in bold cat-eye and neutral lip. Loewe Sun Since taking the helm of 'Loewe' in 2014, Jonathan Anderson has immortalised each of his collections in limited edition hardback form with art direction by ‘M/M Paris’. For FW19, his collection of elegantly refined silhouettes is seen through the irreverent and playful lens of Japanese photographer Fumiko Imano, whose doppelgänger idiom has worked so well for the brand in previous collaborations. Shot largely in monochrome the palette and sparse setting echoes that of 'Loewe’s' Fall show in which models walked across modest black tiles inside an equally un-fussy white box. Here too, the collection is allowed to speak for itself with muted background noise. Chinese super model Fei Fei Sun brings the collection to life alongside a simple, yet continually evolving, flower arrangement (by house florist Amy Humphrey) while Fumiko Imano adopts the dual role of subject and artist, appearing alongside her fictional ‘twin’ in a selection of mischievous poses. Styled by Benjamin Bruno and shot within the bureaucratic setting of Paris’ ‘Maison de l’UNESCO’ (where Imano has previously played havoc alongside Liya Kebede and Saskia de Brauw, mock sword fighting with baguettes) the series features a number of key looks from the Fall collection, with plenty of lace, statement outerwear and a flapper-style headpiece. Loewe Sun The latest instalment of ‘Loewe’s’ limited-edition ‘Publication’ series sees the Spanish house, helmed by Jonathan Anderson, collaborate once again with rising Japanese photographer, Fumiko Imano. Imano is known for her images which feature her imagined “twin” in various playful poses. The pared-down images, creative directed by Anderson and styled by Benjamin Bruno, feature Chinese model Fei Fei Sun posing alongside idiosyncratic flower arrangements (by house florist Amy Humphrey). Imano also places herself within the images; she is pictured peeking from behind a white curtain, carefully readjusting the flower pots, or posing alongside her imaginary twin. Photographed in a bright, enclosed space within Paris’ ‘Maison de l’UNESCO’ the images offer a boxed-in look at the latest offering from 'Loewe': a clinched checkerboard blazer, slick fur-trimmed coats and a standout pearl-encrusted jacket appear alongside the Spanish house’s popular leather goods. The book will be available in editions of 1,200 – the same number since 2014 when Anderson first began creating these seasonal hardcover publications. Photographer Imano made mention of her peculiar digital doppelgänger too. “To cheer myself up, I started to create pictures with the twins with scissors and glue.
