YOOOOOO IT’S A BALDI’S BASICS OC
Tumblr media
His name. Is Sam. He goes by Sal as well because his full first name is literally Salmonella. He’s a cafeteria worker.
He’s a very off-putting and creepy guy, but he’s pretty short too since he’s a chinchilla. Sam has beef with the staff (Especially Dr Reflex), and he’s surprisingly a very good cook— But he’d much rather give the staff food poisoning. I imagine if he were in BBIEAL, this would be his mechanic:
He kinda just walks around the school, and will not interact with you until you either go up to him or click on him once he's close enough.
Basically, he will gladly give you some food if you need some. However, there's a risk. You have a 50/50 chance of being given a food that could boost your running speed and stamina, or you'll end up eating something that withers away all of your stamina and makes you slightly slower. Sam is pretty cool with the students, so that’s why if he gives you food poisoning it’s likely very accidental.

Decided to finally get around to making this since @foodielovethealicorn and I randomly were talking about it! This is my Smiling Critters (Poppy Playtime) OC, Chilly Chinchilla! She teaches the importance of taking it easy and to just relax.
Which is ironic coming from a walking ball of anxiety and stress.

Hello,
We're June 29th, this is the world day against pet abandonment.
It's a good day to remind everyone that pet abandonment doesn't concern only cats and dogs, but also exotic pets such as hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, fish, lizards, insects, and many others.
Yes, they are less likely to be abandoned in the wild, but they are often abandoned inside our own houses, in a corner of the room, inside a cage or a fish bowl.
It's time to remind everyone that adopting any kind of pet is a commitment of several years (chinchillas can live as long as a cat or a dog for example). Exotic pets, in particular, need an emotional commitment, yes, but before all a financial commitment for a long time (equipment, food, toys, vet visits...)
Exotic pets are not just pets you put in a small cage and then watch for your own pleasure. Most of them need appropriate equipment, enrichment, playtime outside of the cage, and human contact to be happy. Every day. It doesn't matter if you're in the mood or not, nor if you have excuses.
Exotic pets are also pets that don't like changes in their environment. So yes, you will probably have to find a way to look after them if you go on vacation, or not go on vacation at all. That's life.
Don't forget that exotic animals depend entirely on you for their survival and happiness, especially if they're inside a cage.
It's a commitment.
They only have you, so be up to it.
Thanks for them <3

I let Cube out to play a bit bc he was interested in coming out of his cage. I had to catch him in the end and it's only the second time I've ever picked him up and oh my god it's torture to have such a soft animal. He's so soft. But he doesn't like being held yet. He's very curious but not into the touching from above. We're getting there but just you pick him up and it's all soft no animal. Entirely poof. Holding a cloud. Oh my god.
It's also just so funny to see a chinchilla run around. They're so goofy. But playtime should be limited bc they can overexert and overheat! Since it suddenly got warmer here, Cube was moved to the spare room with the AC for a few days until it cools off again. It'll eventually be his permanent home whenever I can turn it into an office 😵‍💫

oh and So you know how the chinchillas like my dad better than me? He watches them in the bathroom for me while I clean their cage out. Last night, he did that for me. When I came up to get them, they ran as usual because NO WE WANT MORE PLAYTIME. Pashmina’s immediate response was to not only flee from me, but run up his legs and sit on his shoulder for safety! These are HIS chinchillas now.

Elevate Your Chinchilla's Playtime!
Chinchillas are adorable and playful pets that require a variety of toys and accessories to keep them happy and healthy. Here's a list of chinchilla toys and accessories that you might consider:
Chew Toys:
Wooden blocks or sticks: Chinchillas have constantly growing teeth, and chewing on wood helps keep their teeth in check.
Apple or pear wood sticks: Safe and flavorful, these provide entertainment and promote dental health.
Willow balls: These woven balls make excellent toys for chewing and tossing.
Exercise Wheels:
Chinchilla-safe exercise wheels allow your pet to get the necessary physical activity. Make sure the wheel has a solid surface to avoid potential foot injuries.
Dust Bath Container:
Chinchillas require dust baths to maintain their fur's cleanliness and health. Provide a dust bath container with chinchilla-specific dust for them to roll around in.
Hideouts and Hammocks:
Provide hideouts made of safe wood or plastic where your chinchilla can retreat for privacy. Hammocks also offer a cozy space for resting.
Tunnels and Tubes:
Chinchillas love to explore, so tunnels and tubes made of safe materials give them opportunities to exercise and have fun.
Climbing Structures:
Wooden shelves or platforms can be added to the cage to encourage climbing and provide variety in their living space.
Litter Pans and Bedding:
Chinchillas can be litter-trained. Use a suitable litter pan and provide a dust-free bedding material.
Water Bottles:
Attach a water bottle to the cage to ensure your chinchilla has a clean and accessible water source.
Quality Pelleted Food:
Choose a high-quality chinchilla pellet food that provides the necessary nutrients. Avoid mixes with seeds and nuts as they can be high in fat.
Grooming Tools:
A gentle brush designed for chinchilla fur can help keep their coat in good condition.
Temperature-Controlled Environment:
Chinchillas are sensitive to heat, so ensure their living environment is kept cool. Provide shade and avoid placing their cage in direct sunlight.
Interactive Toys:
Toys that dispense treats or require problem-solving can keep your chinchilla mentally stimulated.
Always prioritize safety when choosing toys and accessories for your chinchilla. Avoid items with small parts that could be swallowed, and make sure all materials are non-toxic. Regularly inspect and clean toys to prevent any health issues. Additionally, consult with a veterinarian for specific advice based on your chinchilla's individual needs.

The best flooring for pets
We simply love pets of all kinds. From dogs and cats, through to chinchillas and chipmunks, we like to ensure that people get the best flooring for their home and for their pets.
Here is our guide for different types of flooring for those who have small (or large) four legged friends in their homes:
Hardwood flooring
Whether in the living room or in the kitchen, hardwood flowing is a go-to choice of material for pet owners thanks to its versatility, hardiness, and all-time classic look.
Although owners must be careful with water, the density of the wood means that it is able to resist scratches from paws and nails.
What’s more, hardwood flooring is very easy to sweep and clean, meaning that dander and hairs are easily done away with, which is great, especially if your pet happens to moult quite frequently or in excessive amounts.
Carpet and carpet tiles
Like hardwood flooring, carpets and carpet tiles are great for furry friends in low traffic areas.
With that in mind however, it might be best to avoid carpets with loops, so they are not snagged by your pet’s nails and claws.
Again, like hardwood flooring, you just need to be careful with water damage and stains.
If stains do occur on your carpet as a result of a spillage or accidents, always use cleaning materials approved or recommended by your carpet manufacturer.
Laminate flooring
An excellent choice for kitchens and other areas of the home, laminate flooring is easy to clean and hard to scratch.
This makes the perfect choice of flooring for pet owners, although rugs are always recommended in houses with lots of laminate so that your canine, feline or any other pet, has somewhere comfortable to relax that isn’t furniture-based.
Vinyl tiles
One of the most favoured flooring types for experts, vinyl tiles are resilient, water proof, and are nearly impossible to scratch.
Hairs and dander are also quickly removed with a quick hoover, while spillages and accidents can be quickly cleaned up without any hassle.
What’s more, when it comes to noise, vinyl flooring tends to absorb a lot of sound, which means that when it comes to playtime, the scuttling and clicking of nails and paws against the floor are largely eliminated.
Tips for looking after floors with pets at hand
One of the biggest pieces of advice for looking after your floors with pets is to ensure that their claws are trimmed. This will not only reduce any scratches on the floors, but will also help the animals move around a little easier.
Also, try and make as much use of doormats as you can to ensure that excess dirt and mud is reduced before they enter the interior of the home after being outside.

Burmilla: Personality, Colors, Grooming, Health, Care Special Info
Burmilla is easygoing, affectionate, and social. These cute cats are a cross between chinchilla-colored Persians and Burmese cats, resulting in Burmillas’ outgoing but calm personalities.
The breed is known for its super-soft coat and bright green eyes. Burmillas require only minimal care and get along well with everyone, so they make excellent first pets and family cats.
Burmillas came into existence in the 1980s and are still relatively rare. Due to their rarity and complex four-generation breeding process, Burmilla kittens typically cost between $800–$1,200 from a reputable breeder.
Origin: United Kingdom
Height: 10–12 inches
Weight: 6–13 pounds
Length: Up to 20 inches
Lifespan: 7–12 years
Colors: The coat is dense and short with a pale undercoat and distinctive dark tipping to the ends of the hairs.
Breed Characteristics
The Barmila breed is loving and sweet-natured. He likes attention but not in the sometimes demanding way Burmese. It is relatively calm, although it is generally more playful and whimsical than the Persian. Barilla can also be a bit mischievous and is known as a slightly goofy, almost clown-like character.
Tumblr media
History
Burmila came into being as a result of a happy accident. In 1981, Baroness Miranda von Kirchberg purchased a male Chinchilla Persian named Jimmy Stenquist. Before she had him castrated, he crossed paths with a lilac Burmese female named Bambino Lilac Fabergé.
The mating resulted in four female kittens. All four had short hair and a gorgeous shade of silver. The kittens were so beautiful that subsequent breedings were arranged and a new breed of cat was developed.
The first Burmilla was born in the UK. The breed is gaining popularity but is still relatively rare, especially in the United States.
Appearance
The Burmilla is a muscular yet elegant medium-sized cat with a thick double-layered coat that feels soft and silky. Occasionally, the Barmilla may have a slightly longer coat which is classified as semi-long hair. This is the result of a recessive gene from the chinchilla.
Barillas come in a variety of coat colors and patterns. They are either tipped or shaded. If they have a tipped coat, it means they have a light color covering a silver or golden undercoat. Silver-tipped cats can often appear close to white. Shaded Burmillas have a dark color pattern that appears mainly on their backs and top of their shoulders and on the outside of their legs.
Temperament
Barnala is a gentle, playful, and loyal companion. A cross between the bold, demanding Burmese personality and the quiet, tolerant Persian nature resulted in the sociable and easy-going nature of the Burmilla. These cats are friendly and charming without neediness.
This gregarious race loves human company and family life. Barillas generally get along well with children, other cats, and cat-friendly dogs. Although they are social, this breed enjoys some independence and does not need to be constantly entertained by people or other playmates.
Overall, the Burmilla is a sweet, good-natured pet. These cats love to relax on your lap and maintain excitement for playtime well into adulthood.
“Barilla cats often exhibit kitten-like characteristics even as they mature into adulthood,” says Curt Venator, DVM, Ph.D. and Purina’s Chief Veterinary Officer.
Personality
The Burmilla’s temperament gives you the best of both its parent breeds – the active, mischievous, demanding personality of the Burmese is tempered by the calm, easy-going, loving Chinchilla Persian.
Some have commented on Barmila’s quirky and charming personality. Adventurous and bold as kittens, Burmillas grow into sweet-natured, people-oriented adults. Not as active as the Burmese, the Burmilla is still full of life and enjoys a good game of catnip toy wrestling.
However, their favorite games they share with their human companions. Spinning feathers, laser light toys, round toys to be fetched again and again – these throw Burmilla into a frenzy of joy. A ball of scrap paper will serve just as well if you’re there to share the fun.
Like the Burmese, they are also very curious and intelligent; Anything you have hidden in that locked room or closet is cause for a thorough inspection by the inquisitive Burmilla. This determined breed will find a way into that closed door or closet, especially if they see you wouldn’t have done it instead.
Anything left in the open is also fair game; Don’t expect keys, socks, glass cases, pens, or the contents of your purse to stay where you put them. Small movable objects instantly become toys. Watch out: You can see your Burmillas texting their Burmilla friends.
After a good game, your loyal and loving Burmilla will want to snuggle up in your lap or arms or do some petting, purring, and catnapping on the couch next to you.
Not overly vocal, bar mills have a loud, deep-throated purr that they switch on when you slide your hand down their silky back. Overall, it is Burmilla’s intelligent, loving, attractive personality that wins many fans of the breed.
