Why must there BE a bad guy in the situation with Chimney, Maddie and Buck? There doesn’t always have to be a bad guy. Buck is loyal to his sister, she begged him not to tell Chimney but to check on him, and he did. Eddie said it, he was always going to fail. It’s an impossible situation for all of them and it’s really not on any of them. Buck saw how out of his mind with worry and grief Chimney was and didn’t tell him that Maddie was okay for eight days. Maddie is so far into her postpartum depression, and is out there with literally no one, believing her daughter is not safe with her. Buck was stuck between being loyal to his sister and watching his friend suffering. Chimney was literally out of his mind with worry, so much so he thought Doug wasn’t actually dead and that he had her. He was not okay and in the hear of such an emotionally charged moment, he snapped.

There is no bad guy, just an impossibly hard situation and three people stuck in the middle of it.

Violence is never the answer, no, but it’s still an impulsive answer and Chimney was hurt. Plus, Buck’s a big boy, he can handle a punch to the face. He’s not going to keel over and die because of it. Emotions running high leads us to do things we don’t mean to do.

For the last fucking time, Buck being my favorite does not automatically mean I have to treat him like a child and defend literally everything that happens to Buck because ‘he’s fragile’. It’s not justified but it’s understandable and even Buck knows that. He said it himself. He’s not on his death bed just from a right hook thrown in an emotionally charged moment.

And please, get the fuck out of here if you’re going to keep throwing around the word abuse for things that don’t qualify. I’m so fucking tired of that narrative, the one that anyone who isn’t Buck is abusive. Just please, fuck right off.
