"This is a nightmare," Tomoyasu hisses, one hand hovering over your wounded shoulder, the other tugging sharply at his own hair. "You were supposed to let the puppet take care of everything!" He glares at you, almost twitching when you wheeze in pain.

"Was there... as backup..."

"-in case the puppet failed, yes! Obviously, I know that, you idiot!" Tomoyasu's mouth snaps shut and he turns his face away, breathing raggedly. He almost looks like he regrets the insult, but you want to laugh at the thought. You choke instead, back arching in pain, losing time to it - when it eases, Tomoyasu is prepping a med kit to clean you up, all short, sharp motions and clenched teeth.

The delirium of pain is making you imagine things. Tomoyasu snaps on a pair of gloves, breathing out through his nose when he turns to face you, as prepared as he can get.

"This will have to suffice until we can make others arrangements. You will not die on me." He levels another glare at you.

"Almost like... you care.." You breathe, smiling as brightly as you can, which probably isn't the best course of action. He'll remember you antagonizing him later.

"Idiot," he repeats. "Your death would irreparably damage my plans for the future."
