Incumbent will direct, coordinate, plan, and organize information security activities throughout the state of South Carolina. Will be responsible for managing the development, implementation, and monitoring of the state's enterprise information security program to ensure the availability, integrity, and confidentiality or the information owned, controlled, processed by, or otherwise entrusted to the State of South Carolina. Will work with the Department of Administration Executive Director and other executive level staff to establish and implement information security strategies, priorities, and directives in a manner that is both consistent with the priorities and vision of state executive and legislative leadership and reflective of the needs and concerns of agency customers. Minimum and Additional Requirements:A bachelor's degree and at least ten (10) years of experience in information security, including application security, business continuity planning, data protection, intrusion detection vulnerability management, network security, data center security, auditing, and risk management, as well as contract or vendor negotiations, with six (6) years in management, including information security planning, scheduling, assignment, or monitoring of staff, budget and resources. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must be eligible to obtain and retain a Secret or higher security clearance from appropriate federal authorities. Incumbent may be required to work during emergency or hazardous weather situations.Must have strong working knowledge of government and regulatory agencies' laws and regulations from a security and audit perspective. Applicants indicating college credit or degree(s) on the application will be required to bring a copy of college transcript to the interview. A copy of the transcript may also be uploaded as an attachment to the application, if required by the hiring department or if desired by the applicant. Please note that some areas of the Department may require an official, certified copy of the transcript prior to hiring or within a specific timeframe required by that area, after hiring. Failure to produce an official, certified transcript may result in not being hired or termination. Preferred Qualifications:A master's degree in business administration, public administration, information security, or a related area is preferred.
