One time secular artiste turned gospel singer, Chidinma Ekile, has shared the encounter that led her to abandoning worldly music and shows. In a recent interview, Ms Ekile said, “I had always known that someday I would do gospel music, because it is something I have had interest in for a long time. I became a chorister at a young age, so I have been involved with gospel music for a long time. I did not know when exactly it would happen, but I knew would definitely happen. The experience has been absolutely beautiful. Initially, I was skeptical about the experience I would have, but being here right now, I don’t think I would want to have it another way. I have always known that I am a covenant child. My gift is primarily for God’s glory, and I have always wanted to work for Him. I was just waiting for the right time, and I think that time is now. I had my convictions. I actually had a personal encounter with Jesus. I had always known about Jesus, but I experienced him myself, so it became a matter of a personal experience and conviction.” Asked the reaction of her family and other loved ones when she decided to switch to gospel music, she said’ “My family has always wanted me to do this. They are very excited, and I have enjoyed the full support of everyone.” Some people are of the opinion that one can’t have as huge a fan base as a gospel singer unlike as a secular artiste. La chanteuse Chidinma Ekile, qui est récemment passée de la musique profane à la musique gospel, a raconté comment elle a été convaincue de se lancer dans le changement.

S'ouvrant sur la transition, Chidinma Ekile a révélé dans une conversation qu'elle avait fait une retraite pendant 3 mois, prié et jeûné au sommet d'une montagne pour entendre Dieu.

Selon elle, elle a fait une pause dans les médias sociaux et tout, juste pour être avec Dieu seul.

"Tout le voyage n'a pas été facile, alors que pendant la retraite, c'était beaucoup de travail, à un moment donné, j'étais fatigué et je voulais m'enfuir, c'était écrasant, l'exercice spirituel m'a fait réaliser qu'il était temps parce que je n'avais pas Je ne veux pas le faire sans Dieu.

"Je n'avais pas de téléphone avec moi à cette période, je monterai au sommet de la montagne en priant et à l'un de ces moments, je me suis fatigué et j'ai commencé à entendre des voix et celle qui était claire pour moi à l'époque était celle qui m'a dit de sauter de la falaise au milieu de la nuit, je me suis rapproché de plus en plus de la falaise, j'ai cru que j'allais sauter mais il y avait quelque chose qui me retenait… J'ai déjà tendu les bras pour sauter, mais je puis j'ai senti une barricade qui naturellement n'était pas là… ce sont quelques-unes des rencontres qui m'ont fait savoir qu'il était temps »

Sur la raison pour laquelle elle s'est immédiatement plongée dans la musique profane après avoir remporté l'émission de téléréalité du projet, Chidinma a déclaré: «Après le concours, j'étais toujours à l'église mais je devais faire de la musique profane pour prendre soin de ma famille et d'autres choses et je voulais aussi soyez pleinement convaincu et dit par Dieu de bouger. Il s'agit de Dieu et non plus de moi, je prie maintenant pour chaque mouvement, pas, je laisse tout diriger.

Sur sa relation avec certains de ses collègues, fans de l'industrie de la musique, Chidinma a déclaré: "Lors de la transition, je ne me souciais pas de perdre mes fans de musique laïques, je m'en fichais.
