Thinking of deities in terms of like celebrities or folks such as politicians in positions of power, makes them feel more somehow personal and easy to accept, then the detached, generic idea of overwhelming presence and authority with blind belief in their ability.
It makes it more easy to find some resemblance than to ask me to just follow.
But even still, the skeptical side of me still is there, Iooking at you all who just jump in wholeheartedly without any doubts and questioning, at these deities who seem to call to you.
Don't get me wrong. I believe deities exist.
I just personally struggle with the worship of said deities.
I work with my deities instead.
I'm a devotee of Cernunnos. He is and was the main deity who got me grounded and kept me tied in to my craft.
I am working with Loki and I love the duality of everything he is both chaotic and patiently eager to teach, while also soothing and serious.
Both have very different feels and we have set boundaries. I love that.
I would be open to hearing if this triggers anyone's else's thoughts if you come across this post!
Mostly just wanted these out of my own for now.

When Era rescues a dragon egg from being crushed, she is soon faced with a choice. - To hand it over to the men who wish to destroy the nesting eggs or to face the wrath of the very grown dragons who have come to reclaim those who survived. - When she refuses both sides, she is at the mercy of her now unwilling hosts, who gather the remaining eggs along with the human girl and flee into the seeming sanctuary of dragon territory during a war between both kinds. Only the tiny nestling, hatched of the egg she bears, a water dragon with a kind heart named Keir, and a mysterious fire dragon named Creed, stand between her and the fury of the dragons who harbor her.

Spending time with a Deity
we might:
invite that deity to our ritual and celebrations
meditate and ask for that deity to help us learn about them
work on a creative project that helps us learn and dedicate the time to said deity
do something that honors our deity [ examples: an offering, a prayer, putting our time and energy into a cause near and dear to the deity's heart]
use specific ritual practices that offer more choices
But, also importantly, we may simply talk to that deity, and share our day with them. We might start with a quiet hello in the morning and a prayer for the day. We might be open to their presence in our lives and even the day and might see it in small ways. We might end the day with a prayer or thanks. We might do a divination reading or meditation. a chance to hear what they might want with us.
Will we have earth shaking moments every day? Nope. No more than your friendships or your romantic relationships do. You may have some great moments and some not so happy ones. But you'll have alot of day to day living.

The Little Book of Witchcraft
The book on [ Goodreads ] originally by: Astrid Carvel
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Photos are of my personal copy of the, hardcover edition, physical print.
It is a very well-decorated and gorgeously illustrated book. I love that it's a hardcover edition, the cover is lovely, and it even comes with an attached, silver ribbon bookmark. While the book is very beginner friendly and easily readable, it is very much told from a Wiccan perspective and informational viewpoint.
Please note, it doesn't directly disclose that or differentiate between what is and what isn't Wicca and Witchcraft. Wicca is a religion. Witchcraft is very much not. It often uses them interchangeably, but it is a good book if you're able to discern the differences, contains some good basics for helping you dip your toes into example correspondences, and it's easy to read as well as to understand.
I do not recommend this for those new to the craft or just starting out.
