Thanks for opening your ask box! I'll be writing a fic for you :) Just a couple of quick questions - I tend to write mythology/daemon/fantasy-esque type aus, and I was wondering what your opinion was on that? I can write just straight star wars universe if you'd prefer. I'd also like to give your preferred characterisation of younger!Chirrut a go, but if you could give me annnnny more info/ideas I'd appreciate it cause I'm a bit stumped :)
omg! Hello Anon, and THANK YOU for taking up my silly lil requests XD
I would be very happy to read ChiBa in the flavour you do best and are most comfortable with. Another prompt within your preferred AU, w/c you can totally drop or take, but i’ll mention anyway: I drew some daemon!AU for the two here (http://kannibal.tumblr.com/post/160004561144/moon-energy-for-writing-into-the-night-sun-energy#notes) and here (http://kannibal.tumblr.com/post/159670698489/baze-chirrut-daemon-au-based-on-jiang-wens-and) where Chirrut’s daemon is a frisky bunny/ hare and Baze’s is a tiger (both based on the actors’ Chinese zodiac animals). I have literally no concept besides that, so if it tickles your fancy, have at it! :)My younger!Chirrut believes he needs to prove things to the world, to the Force, that enlightenment is something like a game—be good at this, excel in that, and you’ll be better, you’ll get to the Force, “the Force will be with you.” He covers his fear of failure up with pranks and impish tricks, which become his signature in the younger years, and keep him youthful despite the wisdom he’s learnt later on. I draw this out mostly from younger Donnie Yen’s character, AND that exchange in the book where Chirrut goes “Where is your place” and “you never really lose it”, speaking like someone who once held everything—every victory, every inch earned—close, before he DID ‘lose’ it, only to realise what he thought he’d lost wasn’t what he did, adn it made him stronger. But if this shackles you, go with what is more flexible for you, Anon! :) I’m sure a Chirrut muse lives in your headspace, and I’m sure he’s not too different from mine, if at all (just exaggerating some features), so go for it!And again: Thank you!!
