Chi.: Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite / Orb: On the Movements of the Earth
I swear, this show is going to inspire me to go stargazing for real. Well, if only there was a good spot near where I live I might.

I've been working on a romance comics about a Kipchak warrior and a Kievan Rus princess, and it's as tacky as it sounds like

Orb: On The Movements Of The Earth
Tumblr media
I cannot stress enough how anyone with even little wonder about the cosmos needs to watch/read this.
I'm filled with awe and gratefulness and frustration and hope and rage and love and joy about the knowledge we have today and the leaps and bounds we've made in our understanding of the universe as a species.

THESE PARALLELS
Rafal:

Glass:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Inspiration was for Rafał what hope was for Glass and vice versa. However, at the same time it was something completely different.
Rafal did not necessarily need hope, because he had plenty of it. A bright future awaited him, considering his intellect and diligence. It was not hope that he needed, but inspiration, which made him give up his plans for a safe and successful life. Something that would allow him to look at everything from a different perspective. Thanks to it, he decided to take a risk and dare to look at the sky, to study it thoroughly. Inspiration that he wanted to pass on.
Glass, on the other hand, had nothing left, because he had lost everything. He did not see a future ahead of him, he wanted to end his own life. He needed hope that would keep him alive. And that is what sky gave him. His nightly observation of the sky aroused something in him that he wanted to pass on.
They both had different experiences, they were at different stages of life, were of a different age and had different needs. But they both were fascinated by the starry sky and the desire to discover the secrets of the universe so much that they were willing to inflame this desire in others, even at the cost of their own lives.
Inspiration changed Rafal.
Hope changed Grass.
And both wanted to pass on those changes, through inspiration and hope.
