prompt 8, not caring for valentines yet getting dragged on a double date w/ haechan

annas note : thanks for sending in an ask baby girl, hope i did this justice for you🤍 (i am marks girlfriend in this we are on the double date).

you and haechan never really did anything for valentines, both of you either didn’t have the time to or you just felt like it wasn’t anything special to celebrate really— you both showed love like any other day, gifting and whatnot so.. what’s so special?

yet, here you both were, on a double date with mark and his girlfriend. she was sat close, arms linked with his with a smile adorning her face. you and haechan sat down and ordered drinks, having small talk with one another before mark asked if you two had done anything special today.

“not really, we don’t celebrate valentines usually, we do everything couples do on valentines like any other day and hyuck has been busy a lot recently.” you explain, and the face on marks face was something to keep in your memory (you and haechan were definitely going to laugh at it later).

after the meal, once you get back home, you both talk about it and laugh, “i can’t believe it.. he really thinks just this one day is enough to show so much appreciation for your partner? i can’t hold myself back from giving you so much love everyday.”

jisung had spent the whole of january preparing for this day. he had it all planned out: he’ll pick you up and drop you off at your house, spend some time there and then.. pop the question. it didn’t quite end up like that though. he did pick you up, but he didn’t drop you off at your place, it was his house instead. he felt a little awkward, tidying up his room quickly before allowing you inside. once you stepped in, you complimented how neat it was and how it was exactly how you imagined.

wait— you imagined what his room looked like? he blushed and thanked you, telling you to sit anywhere you’d like. “so, you wanted to ask me something didn’t you?” you ask and he turned around, nearly getting whiplash, “so..” he began.

“uh, do you wanna be my valentine? no pressure, though. i mean, a little, because i want you to be-“ you quickly shushed him before he could overthink anymore, “no, no ji. i do want to be your valentine, i’ve been waiting all day for you to ask me that— i thought you never would.” he chuckled and sheepishly rubbed his nape, “i tried to get the right moment and i thought it’d be better here? not really but you know, i’m glad you want to be my valentine.”

at first, he'd pick up the letter out of pure curiosity, not expecting much. but when he realised it was a heartfelt confession addressed to him, his eyes would widen slightly, and a smirk tugged at his lips. he’d read every word carefully, his heart beating just a little faster. it was sweet, deep and very personal. he noticed you had threw it away and decided to carry it with him, slipping it in front of you.

“so.. you weren’t planning on giving this to me, huh?” jeno asked, you look at the letter then him and blush, “oh- um, i thought it was too cheesy. i mean, who writes a love letter explaining their feelings and then asks for you to be their valentine you know? aha..” you ramble on and jeno fought back the urge to shut you up with a kiss.

he enjoyed seeing you so flustered, finding it cute. “i would’ve loved it if you gave it to me, you know? i liked the idea.”

“hey- i said i think i deserve a kiss, not a thank you or anything, seriously babe it’s fine. you deserve all of this and more, i’ll take the kiss.” you chuckle at his words and shake your head, leaning in and giving him a soft peck. “you’re so-“ “so amazing, the best boyfriend anyone could ask for?”

“perhaps you are, c’mere lele..” you mumble as you bring him closer once again.

jeno had the whole day beautifully planned out for you both and you had so much fun with him. you both went to a fancy restaurant, he bought you some beautiful gifts and then, once you were back home and had put everything away, he took you out again. to the beach this time.

you were in a quiet part of it, listening to the waves swish against the shore and the sound of the wind past you both. you held onto jenos hand, smiling softly as you admired his side profile while the sun was setting behind him. “you’re so handsome neno, i’m so happy i’ve spent my past few years with you, you treat me so well.” you mutter out, and he can’t fight the smile that finds his face, turning toward you with a soft look in his eyes.

“i’m glad i chose you, you’re the most beautiful person ive ever came across in my life and i cherish you so much, you know? you mean more to me than words can say and i want to spend the rest of my life with you..” you notice jeno kneeling down onto one knee. you can’t believe it, you gulp and cover your face with your hands, “jeno-“

“shh, i want to spend the rest of my life with you, you mean too much to me and i can’t let you go. i need to have a ring on you, i want to let everyone know you’re mine and i want you to take my last name. i want to take care of you when you get sick, i want to take care of you when we’re in our death beds together.. everything, my dear ynnie.”

you and haechan spent the night walking through your city, quietly holding hands in his jacket pocket. he ran a thumb over it, observing you every now and then. the city lights made you unbelievably more pretty than usual and he couldn’t help but get distracted— yeah, he nearly walked into a pole before you pulled him out the way giggling.

“what’s got you so distracted?” and he just responds with, “you. you’re gorgeous.” you blush and shake your head, “shut up.”

he wouldn't be overly touchy, but as the movie goes on, he'd slowly get more comfortable.

his knee brushes against yours, or he lightly plays with the hem of his hoodie. if he felt bold, he would casually drape his arm on the seat behind you—not fully around you, but close enough that you feel the warmth. you both don’t feel the need to utter any words, his actions already doing enough. you notice him taking small glances your way, chewing at his bottom lip, the gears in his head deciding on what to do next.

you turned to your side and smiled, “focus on the movie- loser.” you mumble softly and he just grinned, “focusing on you is better, no?” and oh god.. him saying that in his soft tone of voice just has you swooning more.

you and yangyang were spending your first ever valentine’s day together, snuggled up under a blanket on the couch after sharing some delicious food. you’re watching a rom com, smiling and laughing at the cheesy scenes before the male turned to you, “do you think first kisses should be like that for valentines?” a teasing lilt in his voice as he gestured to the movies. you tilt your head, “maybe not as dramatic.” you reply.

yangyang hummed in response, eyes dropping to your lips for just a second, “wanna try?” he asked with a hesitant yet hopeful tone, leaning into you. your heart skips a beat and you nod, “yeah..” you whisper out in response. before you can change your mind (like you would), he leaned into even closer and pressed his lips against yours. they linger for just a moment before he’s pulling back, a smirk on them as he looked at you, “think that was better than the movie?”

“we’ll have to try again.” and you were the one to press your lips against his now, deepening it by wrapping an arm around his nape, letting the blanket fall to your laps. the movie was soon forgotten.

you were currently out on the road with johnny, a window rolled down just a bit as you two shared comfortable silence before he spoke up, “you know- i’ve been thinking to myself, and asking so many questions. i don’t know how you’re single.” you turn toward him, brows furrowed in confusion, “huh? really?”

“yeah, it’s just weird how you’re not mine after all these years that we’ve known each other. i mean, i haven’t really shown you how much i like you because that’s on me but i’d like to try with you if you’d like that. i thought.. maybe i should shoot my shot now, it’s just us and it’s valentine’s day tomorrow. you don’t have to accept if it’s too much right now, i know you only wanted to go on a drive with me because you wanted to escape for a bit.” johnny explained, keeping his eye on the road but occasionally glancing over to you to see your reaction.

“johnny, i.. I’ve been wanting to confess to you for ages but you didn’t seem interested in me.” you place a hand on his thigh, smiling softly at him as you admired how good he looked under the passing city lights. johnny had always been so attractive but, something about the way your feelings were raw and opened — being put out finally, made you realise things a bit more. “let’s spend valentines together, i don’t care what we do.”

"did you get stood up?" you hear the familiar voice behind you, turning and seeing doyoung walking toward you. you sigh, you didn't want him to see you like this— especially since you got all dolled up and your date didn't even turn up. lol. "yeah, i did get stood up. what are you doing around here?" you ask him, a little curious as to why he was but he said he had wanted to check up on you and followed you (in a NON stalker way.. he knew the guy would stand you up).

you hum in response, looking away. "i'm headed back-" "let's spend the day together, c'mere." doyoung suggested to you and you just let him grab your arm and take you to wherever his heart desired. first stop, a nice restaurant where he treat you to a candlelit dinner, telling you you can order anything, he doesn't mind paying especially if it's you. "i need to cheer you up after getting stood up so coldly, come on."

but in the end, you did have a great day with doyoung and you're.. kinda glad you got stood up in a way. it showed you that there's definitely another side to him, a softer and more romantic one that you never saw before this. you appreciated it.

you were a bit shy with expressing your feelings out in the open so what better than a love letter to confess to jeno?

you wrote something out and placed it in his bag when he wasn’t looking, smiling at him as he gazed up at you, “you okay?” he asked. he noticed you fidgeting a little, feeling nervous. “um- i placed something in your bag, read it when you’ve got the chance.”

a couple minutes later and jeno is in front of you, leaning over your desk with a raised brow, “you like when i acknowledge your efforts, hm? i’ve always noticed them. you’re always doing the best you can yet you don’t get that in return. i can give it to you though, if you’d let me?” you felt yourself staring at the male, jaw dropping a little, “uh- um, you’re serious?”

“why wouldn’t i be? give me a chance to show you.”

spending the whole day trying to bake a heart-themed cake with renjun would be a mix of chaotic fun, teasing, and stubborn determination.

at first, you'd both be excited, looking up recipes and gathering ingredients, but it wouldn't take long before things started going wrong. maybe the batter ends up too runny, and renjun stares at it like it personally offended him. "this isn't right," he mutters, poking at it with a whisk. when you suggest just adding more flour, he gives you a skeptical look. "that’s how you ruin it even more."

once the cake is finally in the oven, you'd both hover by the glass, watching it rise (or maybe sink in the middle). renjun would pretend to be calm, but he'd keep peeking inside every two minutes, muttering, "It better turn out cute, or I swear-“

but, of course, something goes wrong. you open the oven and see it.. completely blown up. you just laugh and point at it, “what the hell did we make?!”
