【Solved】Consider this initial-rate data at a certain temperature for the reaction described by
Question: Consider this initial-rate data at a certain temperature for the reaction described by N2O3(g. -> NO(g. + NO2(g. N2O3 (M) = .1 (initial rate= .66) = .2 (initial rate= 1.32) = .3 (initial rate= 1.98) find k ?
Answer:
N2O3(g)→NO(g)+NO2(g)
[N2O3] Initial Rate 0.1 M r(t)=0.66 M/s 0.2 M r(t)=1.32 M/s 0.3 M r(t)=1.98 M/s
We can have the relationship:
([N2O3]/[N2O3]0)^m=r(t)/r0(t) However, ([N2O3]/[N2O3]0) = 2
Also, we assume m=1 which is the order of the reaction.
Thus, the relationship is simplified to,
r(t)/r0(t) = 2
r(t)=k[N2O3]
0.66 M/s=k×0.1 M
k=6.6 s−1

Chemical Reaction
Chemical reaction
Chemical reactions occur when certain chemicals are altered to another substance. Chemical reactions are expressed in chemical formulas. Let’s look at the simple chemical reaction, methane combustion. In this reaction, methane is combined with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide; in the air, it also generates carbon dioxide and water vapor. The reaction is expressed in the following chemical formula, which means that you need to balance the chemistry equation. It’s the law! Matter cannot be produced or destroyed by a chemical reaction. This is the law of protecting mass in each chemical reaction, the same mass of matter must be in the product as it is already in a reagent. A balanced chemical equation shows that the mass is stored in a chemical reaction.
The most important part of a chemical reaction is to understand the reagents and products. For this reason, the best explanation of the reaction is to write an equation for a response. The chemical reaction equation provides a balance of chemicals and products, while the equilibrium formula illustrates the relationship between compounds and products. Normally, the amount of energy used in a reactions is given. The quantitative aspects of a chemical reaction are known as the reactive stoichiometry. The chemical reactions equation really represents a change in matter. For many reactions, you can write the equation for general reaction. Common sense, for instance, says that when sugars are fully oxidized carbon dioxide and water is the last product. Oxidation reactions are the same as combustion reactions.
A chemical reaction is a process that is usually characterized by a chemical change in which the starting materials are different from the products. Chemical reactions tend to involve the motion of electrons, leading to the formation and breaking of chemical bonds. There are several different types of chemical reactions and more than one way of classifying them.

Chemical Reactions
Chemical reaction, a process in which one or more substances, the reactants, are converted to one or more different substances, the products. Substances are either chemical elements or compounds. A chemical reaction rearranges the constituent atoms of the reactants to create different substances as products.
Chemical reactions are an integral part of technology, of culture, and indeed of life itself. Burning fuels, smelting iron, making glass and pottery, brewing beer, and making wine and cheese are among many examples of activities incorporating chemical reactions that have been known and used for thousands of years. Chemical reactions abound in the geology of Earth, in the atmosphere and oceans, and in a vast array of complicated processes that occur in all living systems.
Chemical reactions must be distinguished from physical changes. Physical changes include changes of state, such as ice melting to water and water evaporating to vapour. If a physical change occurs, the physical properties of a substance will change, but its chemical identity will remain the same. No matter what its physical state, water (H2O) is the same compound, with each molecule composed of two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen. However, if water, as ice, liquid, or vapour, encounters sodium metal (Na), the atoms will be redistributed to give the new substances molecular hydrogen (H2) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH). By this, we know that a chemical change or reaction has occurred.
The concept of a chemical reaction dates back about 250 years. It had its origins in early experiments that classified substances as elements and compounds and in theories that explained these processes. Development of the concept of a chemical reaction had a primary role in defining the science of chemistry as it is known today.
The first substantive studies in this area were on gases. The identification of oxygen in the 18th century by Swedish chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele and English clergyman Joseph Priestley had particular significance. The influence of French chemist Antoine-Laurent Lavoisier was especially notable, in that his insights confirmed the importance of quantitative measurements of chemical processes. In his book Traité élémentaire de chimie, Lavoisier identified 33 “elements”—substances not broken down into simpler entities. Among his many discoveries, Lavoisier accurately measured the weight gained when elements were oxidized, and he ascribed the result to the combining of the element with oxygen. The concept of chemical reactions involving the combination of elements clearly emerged from his writing, and his approach led others to pursue experimental chemistry as a quantitative science.
The other occurrence of historical significance concerning chemical reactions was the development of atomic theory. For this, much credit goes to English chemist John Dalton, who postulated his atomic theory early in the 19th century. Dalton maintained that matter is composed of small, indivisible particles, that the particles, or atoms, of each element were unique, and that chemical reactions were involved in rearranging atoms to form new substances. This view of chemical reactions accurately defines the current subject. Dalton’s theory provided a basis for understanding the results of earlier experimentalists, including the law of conservation of matter which states that matter is neither created nor destroyed, and the law of constant composition which states that all samples of a substance have identical elemental compositions.

🔴Spider Silk has long held the record for being the strongest biomaterial on Earth -- but that just changed. Scientists at KTH Royal Institute Of Technology (Daniel Soderberg) used wooden nanofiberes to create a new biomaterial that is even stronger than spider silk. Researchers "densified" wood to turn an already strud material into a superwood that is as strong as a steel. This material is made from cellulose nanofibres that are sourced from wood and plant body having tensile stiffness of 86 gigapascals (GPa) and a tensile strength of 1.57 GPa. This biodegradable material is stronger than steel and can stretch upto 20 times its unaltered size without losing its strength. 🔸️Around 5th Millenium BC. Iran may have been the first civilization to make Bronze. Bronze was harder and more durable for making tools and weapons than copper and stone. Bronze exibits low friction against other metals. Unlike steel, striking bronze against a hard surface won't genrate sparks. This makes bronze useful as a metal used around flammable or explosive materials. ♦Mustard gas, also known as DICHLORODIETHYL SULFIDE or Bis(2-chloroethyl) sulfide was discovered in 1822 by Cesar- Mansuete Despretz, who described the reaction between sulphur dichloride and ethylene, but never mentioned any irritating symptoms or properties of the product. ♦ It is Cytotoxic and was widely used as a chemical warfare agent during World War I and Iran- Iraq conflict. It smells like garlic, onions and is a powerful irritant and blistering agent that damages the skin, eyes and respiratory tract. It can be readily decontaminated through reaction with Chloramine - T. ♦Related chemical compounds with similiar chemical structure and similiar properties form a class of compounds known collectively as sulfur mustards or mustard agents. Pure sulfur mustards are colourless, viscous liquids at room temperatures so it is technically not a gas. ♦Mustard gas is involved in various synthesis and reactions in chemistry. Chemistry involved in Pepper Spray 👀 🔶To prepare a pepper spray from hot pepper, chemists finely grind up a whole bunch of peppers from the Capsicum family. To extract the capsaicin from the fine powder Ethanol is genrally used. Once the capsaicin has been extracted, most of the ethanol is evaporated off, leaving behind a sticky oily residue, more formally known as oleoresin capsicum. This residue is mixed with propylene glycol and water. The propylene glycol causes the capsaicin to form little droplets that mix throughout the water, making a capsaicin/water emulsion. Think of it like an oil and vinegar salad dressing -- except with smaller droplets designed to inflict pain. It’s then packaged into a spray can with a propellant and boom--pepper spray. 🔶Polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) ▶For nearly about 80 years our lives have been everyday improved by this resin called Polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE. PTFE was Discovered completly by accident on 6th April 1938 by Dr. Roy Plunkett and two other dupont chemists.The story began when Dr. Roy J. Plunkett was working with gases related to refrigerants. After checking a frozen, compressed sample of tetrafluoroethylene, he and his associates made an unexpected discovery: The sample had polymerized spontaneously into a white, waxy solid to form polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). PTFE is inert to virtually all chemicals and considered the most slippery material in existence, making it one of the most valuable, versatile technologies invented. Apart from its usage as non stick coating in bakeware it is also used in many industries—aerospace, communications, electronics, industrial processes, and architecture. 🔶Ballistic composite materials are used in a wide variety of Armour applications, including Military and law inforcement vests, helmets and vehicle armour as it contains high strength fibres. 🔶Ballistic materials are usually rigid, but may be supple. They may be complex such as Kevlar, UHMWPE(ultra high molecular weight polythene), Lexan or Carbon filter composite materials or they may be basic or simple such as Steel or Titanium. 🔶For past few decades, para- aramid fibres and UHMWPEs have been the standard bearers in ballastic textiles. But the changing nature of warfare and the need to increase mobility while improving protection are challenging for the industry to step up pace of innovation. Much research is needed to create lighter weight fabrics that do better job at blocking damage from high power rifles, IED fragments etc. 🔶In aerospace applications, ballistic materials protect the body of the space craft Or Aircraft Or external objects when it is flying at high velocity. Fluorescent Nylon-6,6 Synthesis. Hexamethylene Diamine reacts with Adipic acid to form Nylon-6,6. Both compounds have a 6 unit long carbon backbone hence named Nylon -6,6. The reactants are dissolved in solvents of different polarity among which a small film of nylon forms. The film can be pulled as shown- leaving room for more Nylon- 6,6 to form. The fluoroscence come from fluoroscein which has been added to one of the reactants. 🎥- Nilered . ⏩Self-healing materials are artificial or synthetically-created substances that have the built-in ability to automatically repair damages to themselves without any external diagnosis of the problem or human intervention. Generally, materials will degrade over time due to fatigue, environmental conditions, or damage incurred during operation. ⏩Cracks and other types of damage on a microscopic level have been shown to change thermal, electrical, and acoustical properties of materials, and the propagation of cracks can lead to eventual failure of the material. In general, cracks are hard to detect at an early stage, and manual intervention is required for periodic inspections and repairs. In contrast, self-healing materials counter degradation through the initiation of a repair mechanism that responds to the micro-damage. ⏩The most common types of self-healing materials are polymers or elastomers for example: Poly( urea- urethane), Vitrimers.
