[natalie] “ian, I am serious! I understand how you must feel but your brother has a right to be here!”

[ian] “then you obviously don’t understand, nat! goddamn it, he was never supposed to be anywhere near my wife!”

[chelsea under her breath] “he kinda dated her first, so...”

[nathalie] “hush, jeanie!”

[helena and tristan laughing and goofing around] 

[chelsea] “now, would you look at these two!”

[angelina] “I know right, they’re so cute together!” [chuckling]

[chelsea] “girl, how much did you have to drink?!”

[angelina] “hey, I’m just telling you what I’m seeing!”

she wasn’t wrong, chelsea thought. they did make a nice couple, but that sure was the wrong term to use for these two. I mean, it couldn’t be, right...?! helena was with ben now and tristan had his own stuff to sort out with hayley and their baby. but the way they were acting so comfortable around each other... one could almost suspect that there was something more than friendship going on. for her family’s sake, chelsea really hoped that she was wrong...

[chelsea] “yeah, well, that right there’s just trouble waiting to happen...”

now that the kids were upstairs in a deep sleep, the adults (and all those considering themselves to be old enough) had a blast enjoying some more of the beverages and fine wine downstairs. what better feeling than having a cool drink at a nice get-together on a warm summer night 🌙

just two siblings in the pool, doing what they do best: in calvins case annoying the heck out of his twin 💥💦

that’s when chelsea decided to let the whole thing slide once again. there was no use arguing anymore when her sister wasn’t actually willing to listen. she’s had it with the whole topic for a while now, but she cared about melanie and obviously didn’t want her to stay in a relationship that clearly made her miserable. now that she apparently couldn’t even count on her brothers support in the matter anymore, chelsea truly was at a loss.

[natalie to calvin] “you’re awfully quiet in all of this, cal! penny for your thoughts?!”

[calvin sighing] “sorry, mum. it’s just that I honestly don’t think you guys would like to hear what I have to say. see, at this point it’s not so much about me anymore, but about melanies relationship with aaron and their kid.”

[chelsea under her breath] “traitor!”

[melanie frustrated] “see, that’s what I’ve been saying to you guys all along! lucy’s still young and I do not want to put her through the big drama of her parents seperating while she’s that age! there’s gonna be another way to resolve this!”

[chelsea] “right, you keep lying to yourself, melanie! suffering from this toxic dynamic until your girl is eighteen seems like a great plan indeed!”

[sims-creations]

[chelsea critical] “exactly, it’s about both of your well being, sis! I wouldn’t want my kid to grow up in such an enviornment, just saying...”

[nathalie stepping in] “jeanie, please don’t raise your voice at your sister like that! the past two weeks have been hard enough on her as it is!”

[melanie sighing] 

[chelsea] “yeah, that’s what I’m saying, mum! why isn’t anyone doing anything about this! she needs to get away from that abusive bastard!”

[leon] “language, chelsea!”

[chelsea] “it’s bad enough that she’s gotten involved with him in the first place! sleeping with the enemy at its finest, melanie! at least I’m not afraid to speak the truth around here!”

the second lucy had left with bethany to play in the next room, chelsea couldn’t hold back her opinion on the recent developments in her big sisters relationship with her niece’s father...

[chelsea] “and you’re still considering going back to him, mel?!”

[melanie annoyed] “can we please not go down that road right now? you know well enough that I’ve got my girl to think of. it’s not just about what I want!”

[chelsea mouthing] “mum, remind me why you’re doing this?!”

[natalie responding quietly] “we’re family - and family shows up!”

seeing her mother with ian had always been weird for her. it reminded her of the fact that she’d lived a whole other life before chelsea and her siblings were even born - well, besides helena, of course. but in her book, helena has always had some sort of special status in all of this. maybe her mother was right. no matter how messed up things got: in the end it’s these people who get it and still show up for each other. 

[sims-creations]

[chelsea] “oh, come on, that’s really not something to be ashamed about! quite the opposite!”

[roxanne still laughing]

[calvin] “exactly, we all love the idea of you doing drag, josh!”

[joshua annoyed] “doesn’t change the fact that I would’ve liked you to keep that to yourself, dickhead!”

[chelsea] “okay, okay, I practically dragged it out of him, that’s on me.”

[joshua] “whatever...”

instead of apologizing, calvin went on about how crazy it was and that he would’ve never expected joshua to take part of local drag. in that particular moment, he didn’t quite know how to react without hurting his friend’s feelings. however, he told him about his drag-game in private and wasn’t ready to go public with his art. but now that his sister and roxanne knew, it was only a matter of time until he had to tell several other friends about it...

[calvin] “aye, come on, man, I only told them cause I was excited!”

[joshua] “still not cool, dude...”

[roxanne teasing calvin] “how about you try it, too? I bet you’d make a pretty woman!” [laughing]

[calvin] “I know, right?! I’d make a pretty hot drag queen. might even beat your ass in a competition!” 

[chelsea] “I love you, bro, but you’ve got no idea what you’re talking about!” [chuckling]

[joshua slightly pissed off] “yes, thank you, chelsea!”
