#chelicerae are like jaws of a spider btw

did anyone else have to check the transcripts to figure out how to spell chelicerae

some questions about swooce: does she use her mouth exclusively for eating? and what are the blue spots on her face? i cant tell if they are extra eyes or something else. i love her btw, she’s adorable :’)

Yeah, her mouth is for eating only! Her species’ distant ancestors actually had big twin claws similar to the jaw-like chelicerae on camel spiders, which were ultimately incorporated into the skull 

The blue spots are her gape! The color comes from her copper-based blood and the larger they are the more sexy they look to her species... they actually swell up quite a bit when aroused, but become paler and shrink when frightened.
