Hi there. Hello. I’ve never done a fic rec before, but I’ve found myself taking a little stroll (deep dig) into my fic memory lately. This post is the magnificent result. Many of my faves disappeared together with 1DFF but there’s more than plenty left.

I know there’s a lot of amazing stuff being written and posted right now, but I’ve put together more of a throwback to all my favourite fics from the past.

Oh do I HAVE Harry fic recs!!! 

Nom De Plume by: @stylesprimes - Cecilia is a best-selling author, but writes under a pseudonym to keep her identity hidden, and eventually gets tangled up with Harry Styles. I consider this a CLASSIC Harry fic & it’s what made my fall in love with angst!! It’s so well written, the plot is so creative, and since 2015, I’ve read it at least three times a year / whenever I get in a writing funk bc it really inspires me!!! (this fic is literally literature)

Salute by @bioluminescentwriting​ - It’s a Spy!Au…And this fic…Let me tell you…You’ll have such an appreciation for planning fics after you read this bc everything in this is immaculate. This is by FAR my favorite thing ever written by anyone. You won’t be able to put it down, you’ll feel all the nostalgia of 2015, and you’ll fall in love with Piper & Harry. I can literally recite this fic forwards and backwards and I STILL cry every time I read the last chapter 

Forever Hold Your Peace by @cheesewithchips - FAKE! DATING!!!! AU!!!!!! Birdy’s ex and Harry’s ex are getting married so they start “dating” in hopes of making their ex’s jealous and ruining the engagement. ALSO another fic I consider to be a CLASSIC and it’s really really fun!!! 

Ungodly Hour 1 // Ungodly Hour 2 by: @harrystylescherry - l have absolutely no words to describe how AMAZING both parts are!! Very much a slow burn but trust me it is SO worth it 12/10 recommend (I’m still not recovered from the second part sdlkjf)

Cause Nothing Feels Like Home I, II, III by @harryforvogue - This fic absolutely ruined me in the BEST possible way oh my god. So Harry & his wife, Safiyya, go to marriage counseling and it’s just…it shattered my heart but pieced it back together to where I was content (I think I’ve read this fic 5 times sljfdf)

Falling by @harryforvogue - “the break up fic” plain and simple, and I’m a sucker for angst and this just really hit the spot in every way 39847/10 rec

All The Things I Didn’t Say by @finelinesupremacy - Angst!!! With letter writing!!! I don’t want to say too much in fear of spoiling the plot, but it’s SO amazingly written with not much dialogue so you really feel the emotions!! I will say, my heart was very happy at the end

Those are my go to Harry fics & ones that I love with my whole heart!! Ahh!! (Please read Nom De Plume it's literally life changing)

1. If you weren’t doing what you’re doing now, what would you be doing instead?

To quote a particularly curmudgeonly Irish, I’d probably still be making a living “looking good in my underwear” if I never got into acting.

2. If you could change one thing you did or didn’t say in the past, what would it be?

So much. There’s so much I wish I hadn’t put out there because once it’s out, it’s just out, you know. So many Twitter feuds and shouting matches could’ve been avoided if I had learned to keep my mouth shut a little. Well, maybe just one Twitter particular feud and shouting matches with one person. But I don’t really regret said Twitter feud and shouting match to be honest, so I don’t know.

3. What’s one personal secret you haven’t told a soul?

Taking my own advice from the previous question, I think I’m gonna pass on this one.

4. If your mum texted you right now, how would that make you feel?

Guilt probably. I missed out on another Cheng Beng thanks to this pandemic. Also if she’s texting me it means she’s worried and I should really get better at keeping her updated. Don’t come at me—these Chinese tiger mums are hard to please!

5. Have you pictured your future? If so, what does it look like?

Yes. It looks a lot like being outside again. And people not being complete shitheads. And that’s the tea.

6. What is your Zodiac sign and do you agree with it?

I don’t think I buy into the whole Zodiac thing.

I mean I’m so bored in this pandemic I’m doing a Ask Me Anything on Instagram. Pretty self-explanatory, yeah?

8. Who’s the most important person to you?

My mum and my step dad, I guess. The crew over at show, we’re pretty tight. My lovely manager Sienna, yeah, I see you lurking! My dickhead friends over at Marauders I guess. *whispers* Maybe a certain Irishman would make the cut too, but don’t tell him that, his head’s big enough already. I know it says person but I really can’t narrow it down—I’m like the girl that gets her award’s acceptance speech cut off because she rambles on.

9. What are your interests and hobbies?

I’ve been bingeing a lot of true crime documentaries lately. Did you know that only about one of six serial killers are women? That sounds like sexism to me, what do you think?

10. Have you ever been in love? Why/Why not?

Well if it is written in the stars then so it shall come to pass.

what fic/s are you currently reading? 

so at the moment, i’m reading some fics about a tv show i watch called skam. it’s a norwegian show, and it has a bunch of remakes around the world, and i’m really loving the french remake fics, so i’ve been reading a lot of those!

who are your favourite fic authors? why? 

my favorite would probably be @cheesewithchips because her writing is just crazy good. back in the day, i use to love that fic about harry called dark. he was a boxer in it, and it had after vibes but it was before after was a thing. and granted, it was pretty problematic, BUT i loved the way the author wrote it. i can’t even remember her name or url, but she’s definitely one of my faves. (also you and eriza @booksncoffee are definitely up there for me as well!)

what is your favourite genre to read?

i really like au fics! granted, i read ou fics as well, but i prefer au and i’m not sure why. i’m also a sucker for the classics like enemies to lovers and all of those cliches lol

if you could see any two fic authors collab, who would you want it to be?

i honestly haven’t thought about collabs too much tbh. i feel like if anything (not too be selfish) i’d love to do a collab with another author! 

what makes you decide to read a certain fic?

omg i love this question! i’m honestly going to sound so annoying here, but grammar is everything for me when i’m reading a fic–which is probably so ridiculous because english is really hard language and the grammar is crazy, but i’m just a stickler for good grammar lol!

if you could pick any three ofc’s to be in the same room, who would you choose? 

probably birdy from forever hold your peace and suzy from oxford commas. (i also would LOVE to be in the same room as my thea because i just love her so much)

have you ever predicted anything in a fic that came true? 

not really! i’m usually pretty good at that with tv shows, but with fics, i’m always pleasantly surprised when something happens.

why did you make your URL cheesewithchips? i've always been curious!

well on 1DFF my username was chipsandcheese because of the song one night by ed sheeran where he says ‘so she buys me chips and cheese, and i tell her that i love her and she’s all i need’ but when i tried to make chipsandcheese my url on here someone had already taken it, and someone had already taken cheeseandchips. so i had to settle on cheesewithchips!
