Im now at my late 30's wondering if i took the best choices... Seeing these beach hunks while im balding with a dad bod, i wish i could go back in time and be like them when i was in my early 20's
Do you remember when you were 19 and decided not to start an apprenticeship at the bank straight after graduating? Instead, you decided to travel the world for a while… That was almost 20 years ago. Today, you would probably be a great Instagram or TikTok influencer. Back then, you wrote a blog. A pretty unsuccessful one. But at least your parents always knew where you were. And every now and then you were invited to give a talk about your travels.
Your dad bod is getting flatter. Harder. You suddenly feel… Somehow much fitter…
You visited this amazing beach when you were 21. Where the waves were supposed to be the best. But you weren't even a surfer back then. And you were actually on your way home because you were running out of money and you had promised your parents that you would start university the next semester. Damn it. The first time a wave knocked you off your board and you swallowed a liter of seawater, it was all over for you.
Your hair gets fuller. And longer… With blonde streaks… Your skin takes on a healthy glow.
You had the beach stall with the surfboard rental for almost ten years. Sometimes it went well, sometimes it went badly. You never amassed any wealth. But you wrote two very successful books… And you never needed a lot of money. And when you had enough of the beach and of surfer dudes who spent more time with their cell phones than with their boards, you sold your place and went back home from one day to the next. You hadn't seen your parents for almost eight years.
Your apartment becomes a cheap hotel room. Your belongings fit into a large backpack. There might be one or two gray hairs in your beard. But otherwise you look ten years younger. Tattoos appear on your skin.
You've tried to start an online travel agency. For surfer trips. It was reasonably successful, your parents were proud of you. But you didn't have any fun. Discussions with banks and investors were a horror for you. When the first opportunity arose to start your own business, you jumped at it. The process took almost half a year. But now you're free again. Not a rich man, but a wealthy one. And free as a bird.
The sun feels good on your skin. You want to go back to the sea. You miss the noise of the roaring waves and the smell of salt on your skin. Everything you own is in your rucksack. Do you have your own car? What for? Someone will give you a lift. It usually doesn't take long. And if you're lucky, the driver will be just as hot as you are.

Mike the Surfer Boy 🏄🏻♂️🌊
Surfer Boy plays a massive role in season 4, and I believe that it's all about authenticity. As we see with Argyle and Argyle 2.0, surfer boys are unique individuals. They dress how they want to and they don't try to be anyone they're not. We're also told that everything is made fresh at Surfer Boy (except for the pineapple that comes from a can… lol), nothing is artificial or fake. When Mike shows up in California in his iconic outfit, it’s clear that he’s trying to be someone else. He’s being phoney. His shirt says “Surf,” and it’s got little surf boards and hang loose symbols, the whole works, but he’s more of a boy surfer than a true “Surfer Boy”. More Pacific Ocean than authentic “Ocean Pacific,” if you know what I’m saying. Mike is trying to convince everyone that he’s someone that he’s not, that this is who he truly is. See, his shirt says surf. That makes him a surfer boy right?
Wrong.
You can’t just say you’re a surfer boy, you gotta act like one. You gotta be authentic. That’s why Argyle, who is a real surfer boy, calls him out immediately for being a “shitty knock off”. He’s being a knock off surfer boy. He’s not being himself AT ALL. This is also shown through the color of his clothing. Orange and purple is definitely not his normal color palette, which is confirmed by the costume designer.
His outfit also lacks any of the fun and originality of a true Surfer Boy outfit. Just look at his outfit compared to Argyle’s.
Argyle's is bright and unique. It's a reflection of how authentic and unapologetically himself he is. It makes the blandness of Mike's outfit all the more obvious. Just like Mike, his outfit is toned down - muted. It's void of any spunk or originality. His internal struggle to suppress who is is bleeding into his clothing choices.
2 days after the airport fiasco, El is gone and Mike is dressing a lot more like himself. He’s also BEING more himself. He starts to open up to Will again in Jonathan’s room and it becomes clear that these two are rapidly finding their way back to each other. Right after this conversation, Mike and Will ask the agents to order them pizza so they can get a cheap ride back to Hawkins. Mike and Will go downstairs together, of course, and Will holds up the surfer boy pizza flyer that boldly (and kinda hilariously) states “Delivered… HOT to your door” and “30 minutes or less”.
And guess who shows up at Will's door a little under 30 minutes later? Mike lol. And he delivers Will exactly what he wants as he recreates the best thing he’s ever done and reaffirms to Will that he is still very much committed to their relationship and wants to be back by his side moving forward, no matter what happens.
We're even reminded that this is all connected to surfer boy pizza when they get interrupted and Mike says "That was fast," to which Will responds, "30 minutes or less."
Through the next few episodes, there are several scenes, shots, and details that further associate Mike with surfer boy. The most obvious is probably the fact that Mike is often placed in front of the “Surfer” written on the back window of the pizza van, as well as the “Surfer Boy” that’s on the doors. I've added just a few examples below.
We also have the frog riding a surfboard on the van’s dash, which is probably a reference to Mike’s unfortunate nickname “frog face” (☹️).
Finally, and this might be delusional, Mike almost looks like he’s surfing when he closes the van doors, which we’re shown him doing twice. I could only find a clip of the first time, which is unfortunate cause the second time at the gas station, you also see that Mike switches places with Will so that he can get in the van first. Just a cute detail. It also looks a lot more like surfing than in the example that I've attached below but oh well.
They finally make it to Surfer Boy Pizza in episode 9 and Argyle interrupts El and Mike's conversation, dropping the pizza in front of them and telling Mike, “Surf's up, Romeo”. Once again referring to him as a surfer boy. We then get the incredible fruity pizza scene and the iconic “try before you deny” line. In order for Mike to finally be a true surfer boy, he needs to ride the waves, and for Mike, those waves are fruity. Argyle and El just want Mike to be himself. It’s time for him to be authentic and accept himself for who he is. We know that he wants this as well given what he says after trying the pineapple pizza.
"No, you're right. It's good."
Of course, Will kinda goes and makes this a bit challenging when he unknowingly tries to force Mike in the complete opposite direction, but it’s clear by the end of the season that Mike is way more himself. He’s finally got the “good threads” as Argyle says. He's no longer trying to hide behind some elaborate facade. He's a lot less of a boy surfer, and a lot more of a surfer boy.
I think the whole idea of surfer boy is especially cute cause it’s a bit of a callback to Lucas and Max in season 2. On Halloween, Lucas and Dustin are doing surfer impressions to make Max laugh. Lucas then brings this back later when he tells Max that she’s “cool and different” and “totally tubular” when they have their heart to heart on the bus. It’s a sweet moment and connects also to the whole idea of being different, and how that is not something that is inherently negative. Just Like Lucas and Max, Mike loves Will because he’s different, not in spite of it. The return of surfing references could be a coincidence, but the fact that they used the same song ("On the Bus") that played during that Max and Lucas scene for Mike and Will’s season 4 bedroom conversation, makes me think that all of this is connected.
Overall, the Surfer Boy motif is all about Mike's journey towards self-acceptance and being his true, authentic self, and he's definitely making progress!
Sorry this was so long! I hope this makes sense.
Let me know your thoughts 😄

I realized i haven’t been giving any GunplUpdates to the, like, 3 people that care, so I’ll just do a quick review of the nine kits I’ve built since the Zeong
Real Grade Sazabi
Probably one of the best RG kits I’ve built so far, at least in recent memory. It’s big, it’s articulate, it’s detailed, I love it!
High Grade Gundam NT-1, AKA Gundam Alex
This one was certainly an older kit. It builds the same as any other HG RX clone, and absolutely needs panel lining with all the molded details (good thing I picked up a pen recently). However, despite all its limitations, the HG Gundam Alex turned out better than I expected, and poses quite nicely!
I’m not at all biased because we have the same name :P
High Grade Mobile Doll May (Gundam Base Color)
This is probably my first official step into the Mecha Masume genre of model kits, but not my first girlpla (I’ve built the Figure Rise Sulleta Mercury the Artery Gear Fusion Guard Spider Feidy kit [highly recommend] before either of them). I doubt I‘ll end up buying anything more scandalous than this, I really don’t care for the half naked robot girls of Frame Arm Girls or Megami Device.
That all being said, this was a really fun kit! It was my first run with waterslide decals, and I think they turned out… mostly ok. The articulation is really good, the sculpting is well detailed (especially in the areas meant for other fans) and I just like kits that come with stands.
I will say, i do not and will not understand the appeal of battle stilettos (it’s hard to see in the pic but her feet are basically pointed straight down in the heels she’s wearing)
Sakura’s Edge
Another of my few non Bandai kits, Sakura comes from the Armored Puppet line of kits from Number 57. It’s another 1/24th scale kit, which means she is very very smol. Her most stand out feature is her third giant buster-arm, capable of wielding a sword twice her height. The bright pink, gold, and white go really well together, and she just looks really nice! Unfortunately her armor is more of an afterthought from the creators, as some parts need to be filed and trimmed excessively to get them to fit (I was in a VC with a friend, he can testify I was almost brought down by the shoes), and other parts just sit loose, ready to pop right off after the slightest tap, touch, or pinch.
30 Minute Missions Spinatia (Commando Type)
This kit was my intro to 30MM and I wish I bought more of them sooner! It was a cheap impulse purchase from a “local” hobby store I was checking out and it was a really enjoyable experience! It was simple and relatively fast (I failed the mission, it took me an hour), but using all the extra parts and mixing and matching equipment was so fun to play around with and experiment with what looks cool, something I hope to see more of as I build more Hexa Gear kits. In the meantime though, I have a 30 Minute Custom to plan >:3c
Transparent SD Gundam and Char’s Zaku II
I dont own many SD kits, and I think these are some more I’ll snag more of as I shop around. They’re simple and cute! They’re both Cross Silhouettes, but only the Zaku came with the CS frame, so the Gundam is just really squat and even more chibi in comparison. Overall not much to write home about, but still fun!
High Grade Gundam Maxter
The only red white and blue I’ll ever stand for
That being said, this was a really great kit! It’s a shame it’s P-Bandai limited, along with Gundam Rose. It absolutely needs panel lining for its literal abs of steel and face, but it still looks quite nice. It’s very articulate and it was hard to pick just one photo that truly sums up the insanity of Gundam Maxter, perfectly captured in gunpla form. It comes with everything seen in the picture, along with its flying surfboard shield, guns, and an effect part for its bursting machinegun punch. It is such a great kit, and comes with enough ham to justify its $30 price tag, despite the fact that Maxter is in fact very small.
High Grade Messer F-01
I love The messer’s design. It feels like a true successor to the Zaku series of suits. I know canonically it’s built off of the Sazabi, but it’s design is 100% Zaku. It’s got that respirator like mouthpiece, and the spiky asymmetric shoulder armor. Is just so cool! And did I mention this things size yet? It, like it’s predecessor are big boys, snd both stand almost as tall as many master grade gunpla in my collection. Overall an amazing kit!

Hey, it's Kai again. I have a fun question to share with you. Don't worry, if you have played PS2 Treasure Planet before or not that's okay because this question will be fun for you to wrap your head around. What will be the gameplay like if Trunks from Dragon Ball GT is playable in PS2 Treasure Planet? Now i'd imagine Trunks being playable can be OP as fuck, like he has ki flight and several other abilities. If he is playable in this game in a balanced (yet still OP) way, Trunks would have a larger HP pool (Comparing Jim's HP: 4 [5 if he collects 30 blue orbs]) would be 5 but unlike Jim's playstyle he would be a bit different. First of all, Trunks can collect blue orbs to regain his Ki meter (I imagine his Ki meter would appear right next to his HP colored coded Yellow). Ki can be used to fly for a limited duration, fire of blasts of ki, and do other things like Ki dashing. In the game Jim has morph, right? The same can be said with Trunks has Giru to accompany him with. Giru can be useful for some things like with powerups, storing green energies (Giru can carry up to 5 and if you die half of the green energies won't reset twice per level), and even show you where is the next black star dragon ball in the level. Trunks can swim in certain levels, mainly the TP levels where some of the harder platforming comes into effect. He can even dive underwater to find secrets such as hidden black star dragon balls or green energies. He also has a breath meter that lasts for a good three minutes before losing HP rather than just a cheap death. However he has some flaws, for one he can't do a double jump. Only a high jump, secondly he can't sneak away to avoid detection, and thirdly he can't go super saiyan nah i'm joking he can go super saiyan if his Ki meter is full. But that's the third flaw, once you activate super saiyan you only got about a minute before you revert. It acts like a temporary boost to all stats, your HP doubles, everything gets doubled except for the time limit.
Pretty useful ability during boss fights against the spider psycho boss and a few others. Trunks has a melee 3-hit combo and airborne slam move, but also he can attack in the water (but there's almost no need to except for a few enemies). However, Trunks has a useful guard move that if an enemy hits him while guarding he can counterattack with a teleport kick move or a retaliation ki blast if the enemy uses ranged attacks.
Now i wonder if Trunks can ride the solar surfboard? Well yeah, but as a silly easter egg you get by collecting the four black star dragon ball at Crecentia: Nightside without getting spotted once as Trunks. Would be a pretty fun way to make Trunks do the solar surfing levels with Jim following him. (Btw, i haven't played this game so i only watched a longplay of it)
harness i was looking for my best (air quote)dead(air quote) trunks pic to emphasize how dead this shit has me because i’m a FRAUD who hasn’t played the treasure planet game in like 10,000 years since my ps2 disappeared off the face of the earth my mom probably sold it right under my nose when i got my xbox 360
I WISH I HAD THE ABILITY TO COMMENT ON THIS… alas i do not. out of curiosity did you just search up treasure planet ps2 gameplay in youtube to find that video? i’ve been dodging doing that because i wanted to save up to buy a ps2 (or ps3) so i can replay all my ps2 games starting with treasure planet but your ask has tempted me to do otherwise so i can follow-up on this 😭
#YOU WROTE SO MUCH AND I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT TO SAY BC I HAVENT PLAYED THE GAME SINCE 😭#i didn’t wanna spoil my future replay of it by watching a play through 🙏🏼💔#selfkaiharness#hell pig answered

Unable to sleep, Joel and I get out of the warm tent and decide to wander the darkness. On our way down the creepy boardwalk, we tepidly dodge blades of grass, having been traumatized from the earlier tick running up my leg. We make our way to the beach and it is empty, dark, and ominous but lit by a full starry sky. We chat and stargaze.
Poor Dylan is fully sick now and can't be getting the best sleep. He borrows one of Joel's eye masks. Allen is also not 100% and craves the AC of the van and hotel. The day's low is 28C. The tent is warm and uncomfortable.
In the morning, Joel and I awaken by the light and sneak out of the tent again, letting the others continue sleeping. We walk to the ocean more and wade into the water. After some convincing, Joel joins me in jumping into the ocean and we enjoy the renvigoration of the waves that remind us of West Edmonton Mall Water Park. The beach is beautiful and empty of the off road trucks that saturated it the day prior.
Assembling ourselves, we mosie to the ferry terminal to Ocracoke Island. We scrounge for coffee, which Joel finds via a vending machine, and meander the nearby shops. We talk relationships on the ferry while dodging sea spit and watch the seagulls ride the air flow above the ferry. Allen zonks out and snoozes in the van. The group decides they don't really want to camp another day in the incessant heat, and Joel books a spur of the moment hotel in Jacksonville, NC.
Orcacoke is an interesting island. All the locals drive golf carts around which we evny in the hot sun. Most buildings are on stilts or owned by rental companies. Seeking food, we stop at Smacnallys for fish sandwiches and plates of shrimp. We do a bit of shopping in the sunny heat and Joel is unfortunately scammed a tip at a local ice cream shop. Joel gives them a calm but firm piece of his mind, and after 15 minutrs of walking, we see a $1.30 reimbursement show up on his email.
After checking out the local lghthouse, we retreat into the van. Dylan, Joel, and I are sunburnt. The group starts to slow down. Waiting around the next ferry terminal, we explore the local fauna and restrooms. Joel entertains me with facts on the meaning of the word "Horizontal and puns like "Imma lichen this bench". Dylan becomes addicted to trader Joe's Licorice.
Arriving back at the mainland, the sun is setting. Our GPS starts going wonky so we have to disconnect and Joel navigates verbally. The surfboard on top of the Jeep in front of us almost flies off and someone is lighting off fireworks near the glass station. We are eager to get to our hotel, but still are over an hour away.
Picking up aloe vera at a massive Walmart, Dylan and Allen are pretty much spent. The mood is low but functional, and we are forced to the drive through of a Wendy's once we realize their doors are not open. Watching cockroaches outside, the staff inform us they are out of chicken and we pivot to beef. Allen is zonked and sleeping again (Sleepytime Tylenol coming in clutch) and the rest of us swap work stories having perked up with food.
The hotel is cheap but cool ❄️. Joel, Blake, and I inspect what appears to be pubes on a bedroom door. I discover that I have left my stinky shoes in my suitcase the entire day seasoning in the hot van, and my clothes smell like ass. Blake and Joel sip beers. Time for bed.

BIOGRAPHY
INVINCIBLE -
It was the word that often came to mind whenever the name Amanda Chey Johnson rolled off your tongue. Age seven, naïve as ever, she climbed the highest tree in her neighborhood’s park out of sheer stubbornness of proving herself to her brothers. The fall, however, could’ve been deadly – should’ve been deadly as she tumbled to the ground head first. Two broken bones and a measly headache. Age sixteen, deciding to ignore the endless warnings of the weather, she took off to surf rocky waves alone. The gulf opened up, swallowed her whole and her lungs filled with water. She flat lined in the ambulance. Dead for a total of ten seconds, her heart kicked in as sea water spewed from her lips. Alive and well. She spent her youth cheating death one miraculous time after another. Was she just lucky? Most likely, but those around her deemed her invincible.
But, she never once felt that way. For someone who constantly cheated death, it happened to be the only thing she truly wanted. At the age of eighteen, she inevitably decided to take her own life - but to her dismay, she awoke in a hospital with a beating heart in her chest.
The girl spent her childhood with salt in her hair and toes in the sand of small town Port Aransas, Texas. Though she had her loving father, mother, and three reckless brothers, Chey was plagued with something no one could ever understand – depression. With all her spunk and confidence on the outside, it was hard for others to see anything other than invincibility. Depression had been in her blood for as long as she could remember – no circumstance ever made her this way, and perhaps that’s why the people around her always wrote off her illness as a cry for help or desperate need of attention.
She lived her life with a smile stitched on her lips around the friends she considered merely strangers. As she grew, she resulted to regularly visiting a therapist, taking medication, and forcing herself to find escapes in everyday life. Film, music, surfing – these were the things that reminded her she was alive. No, it was never the near death experiences that made her appreciate what she had, but just the simple things.
However, after her failed attempt at suicide, something finally began to settle within her. Maybe… just maybe, she was meant to be alive. Taking the easy way out had never been a method she preferred, so why start now? The pain and love of her family had come to light after that day, and she realized what she was originally willing to throw away. Her family was every bit of who she was, and without them, she’d be better off dead than alive. So, for them, she pushed herself after high school came to a bittersweet end and decided to change the vicious state of her mind. Of course, this doesn’t mean her depression would ever fully go away – but it was a start.
She received a scholarship to study film at UCLA and she took this opportunity to invite some change into her life and move to California for a clean slate. All of her life she was convinced she was an atomic bomb, something only negative that would eventually detonate and obliterate all those around her into bits. It wasn’t until she took a leap of faith by leaving the only place she has known as home to realize she was an atomic bomb – but in a completely different sense. She was powerful, bright, and came into this new life like an explosion. It was then she knew that she had to keep fighting.
After college – and being the queen of any and every drinking game – Chey truly found herself. No one sees the reserved girl with a broken smile, but a boisterous woman full of life and free-spirit. Her horizons opened, even job opportunities came easier. She landed a PA position at a production studio that later helped her career in film. Now she works as an assistant director (and aspiring director) for television series and feature films. Chey became something new entirely, became the person she was destined to be. With her father’s sailor’s mouth and her brothers’ alcohol tolerance, she’s rather awkward, clumsy, and a little inappropriate at times – yet, deep down, she was still the girl from Texas with a lot of heart.
Maybe everyone was right when they said Amanda Chey Johnson was made for big things. Maybe her mother was right all those nights she reminded her daughter to never let her fear decide her fate. Despite what life brings her, nothing will stop her from becoming who she’s meant to be.
EXTRA INFO
Her whole family, and those closest to her, tend to call her “Mandy”. She is a woman of many names - Amanda, Chey, Mandy, Manda… Most know her simply by Chey. Her whole family have ‘C’ names, and though her mother originally named her Amanda to break away from that annoying trend, they ultimately ended up calling her by her middle name.
Chey used to date the lead singer of a band that has gotten recent fame. Back when they were dating, he actually used her to gain some access to put his music in some of the films she worked on. What she refuses to believe is that he genuinely fell in love with her after, but she could care less. He made her feel like a fool, and for that, she continues hating him. If anyone mentions his band or he comes on the radio, it takes everything within her to not smash something.
She mostly works on independent films and some major motion pictures. The type of films she creates are similar to the following: Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, Lady Bird, Drinking Buddies, Blue Valentine, Sleeping With Other People, Little Miss Sunshine, Comet, Whip It, 20th Century Women - to name a few!
A part of Chey contemplates one day leaving the film life behind to open up a brewery, potentially with her brothers. She’s family oriented at her core and often misses when life was less busy.
She has extreme confidence when it comes to her abilities in her career and skills. However, when it comes to the world of romance, she is full of doubt. One too many bad experiences has scorn her for good and she fully believes that a happy ending is not in her future.
#stats: chey#about: chey#finally updated her stats after having the same stats pic for almost 10 years lol

Tyler and Esme have never really dated, which is weird, I know LOL. But for them, as an old married couple (lol) their idea of a 'perfect' date would be at the restaurant they love in Cooktown, right on the water. So a great meal, a nice stroll afterwards, coffee and dessert somewhere before heading on. They're very 'simple' people these two lol
Well, as boring as it is, definitely, they'd both say it was the other's eyes that they love the most and were first attracted to. After that, Tyler would say her freckles and her smile, Esme would say his hands and forearms.
Esme would say his compassion (yeah, he's a mercenary, but he's got a lot of 'good' in him) and how he's a 'big man with an even bigger heart'. And that he's protective and makes her feel safe and secure. Tyler I think would say how bright and bubbly she is. How she gives everyone a chance when she meets them. Like him, for example. She saw more to him than anyone else ever did.
These two are opposites in many ways. Let's start the most obvious, their physical differences. Tyler is 'freakishly tall' (as she she calls it) and built like a brick shit house and she's 'freakishly tiny' and barely weighs a hundred pounds soaking wet. He's a grump first thing in the morning, she's very bright and chatty and talks his ear off while he drinks his coffee lol. Esme is very much an extrovert and Tyler is very....well...Tyler LOL. She's a social butterfly and he prefers to stick to a small group of friends and colleagues. He likes that when they go places, he can just stand around and she can do all the talking lol. But somehow, they 'work'.
There's not much they don't come to some common ground on. But the biggest disagreement they have stems from when he had to choose either her life or that of their unborn child and he chose her. Esme felt he should have picked the baby. It remains the one thing they will never agree on: she says if a situation like that arises, to always pick the child. He says no way. That he will always choose her.
Let's face it, he's never going to get the chance to borrow something of hers. LOL. That girl can wear clothes from the junior department. Esme however, is notorious for 'borrowing' from his side of the closet. T-shirts, dress shirts, hoodies, sweaters, ball caps.
This is kind of a hard one. Hmmm. I think the ocean would be what reminds of Esme of Tyler. The sound of the waves, the smell of the salty air. For him, I think it would be smell of coconut or honey. As he associates those with her scent.
Esme is incredibly sentimental, as she's the more sensitive one. He purchased a bracelet for her in Dhaka (just a cheap thing, three different colours of leather braided together) as a 'peace offering' after they'd gotten into a little disagreement and he tried to 'choke her out' and they had some crazy, angry sex (their first time together). She refuses to get rid of that bracelet. It's a mess. He's fixed it several times and always just tells her to get rid of it. It wasn't expensive, important, etc. But she refuses. Tyler gets sentimental over things she gives him for his 'collections'. Watches, surfboards. The kids once made him a jar filled with sand and shells and beach glass from the beach at their place when he was in the hospital for a prolonged period of time.
Nope. They can't. They find it impossible. They HAVE to be touching in some way. Even if it's just the side of their legs pressed against each other. Or if sitting across from one another, their toes touching under the table.
These two love animals. In the main series, they have two dogs, several goats, several chickens, three pot bellied pigs, a turtle, hamsters, guinea pigs, a bearded dragon, and two horses

King Of My Heart
I'm perfectly fine, I live on my own
I made up my mind, I'm better off bein' alone
We met a few weeks ago
Now you try on callin' me, baby, like tryin' on clothes
There is nothing better than laying on the beach with a book in hand breathing in the salt air. Its the first day off I have had in a while and I thought that it couldn’t get better than this. Then I saw him.
Walking out of the water, surfboard in hand. He is quite literally the most beautiful man in the world. I pull my sunglasses down on my face and when his eyes meet mine I know I'm a goner.

“Cmon babyyy” JJ whines from the car “we gotta go meet the pogues”
I hop in the truck and smile at his words. We have been going out for a few weeks now and he keeps calling me baby like it is the most normal thing in the world.

Salute to me, I'm your American Queen
And you move to me like I'm a Motown beat
And we rule the kingdom inside my room
'Cause all the boys and their expensive cars
With their Range Rovers and their Jaguars
Never took me quite where you do
Growing up in the kook life you get sucked into the realm of money and status, but none of that matters here. I have never been happier spending my days in the marsh with my friends, drinking cheap beer and smoking JJ’s cousin's weed. Who needs the kook life when you can live like a pogue. If there is anything that JJ has taught me its the joy of living the simple life.

Late in the night, the city's asleep
Your love is a secret I'm hoping, dreaming, dying to keep
Change my priorities
The taste of your lips is my idea of luxury
He knocks on my window like he does almost every night. Next thing I know I’m being pulled out of the window and dragged to the twinkie. We drive around the cut listening to Taylor Swift on full blast, until it starts to pour. JJ pulls over and we end up dancing in the middle of the street in the pouring rain.

And all at once, you are the one I have been waiting for
King of my heart, body and soul, ooh whoa
And all at once, you're all I want, I'll never let you go
King of my heart (my heart), body and soul, ooh whoa
Its the last night of summer vacation and me and JJ are dancing around the fire. He spins me around and pulls me close to his body. King of my heart playing quietly in the background. I look up into his ocean blues eyes and thats the moment I realize the truth.
He smiles “whatcha thinking about love”
“You’re the king of my heart Jay” I tell him and his lips meet mine with such passion.
“Then you’re my queen darling”

The Gap Years part 5
The road trip kids wake up on the first real day of their adventure. Plans are considered, elf society is rightfully mocked, but mostly I just infodump. :)
i am beating back the cringe emotions with a stick. this is the cringe website. let me post about my homegrown blorbos, brain.
June 11th 2019
Lakeport, California
The realization of where he is and what is going on hits Brian in waves.
He’s a good sleeper (he travels enough that he has to be), but this doesn’t seem to be his room. Brian lifts his head and his chest hurts, and it’s not a falling off of a dirt bike/surfboard into a tree/sandbar at a frighteningly fast velocity type of hurt either. He winces, and his arm hits something else.
Ah. The second realization. He’s sharing a bed. Contrary to popular belief, he does not do this very often. Light is already pouring in through the curtains, so it doesn’t take Brian long to realize that the other person is Clay. He still looks asleep. That makes sense. Brian has always been an early riser. He sits up in bed and looks around. Cheap curtains, beige walls, a blurry photo of a lake? They must be in a motel. Yes. He’s just graduated high school and now he’s going on a road trip with his friends. Brian swings his feet onto the ground and stands. He walks to the bathroom, but sees something else on the ground between the two twin beds. A pile of clothes? He approaches. It’s a person under a blanket. That’s when he remembers the magic, the sword slash, and the blood that might still be under his fingernails because he refused to spend half an hour washing it off like Lady Macbeth. The person on the floor is a prince. Brian is responsible for his safety and by extension the fate of the world. How the hell did he get here? (He enthusiastically volunteered, that’s how.)
Over the next few minutes, Brian cautiously wakes up both of his friends. They have some things to discuss that they don’t want Marin to overhear. They move to the other side of the small room and gather in an awkward huddle.
“We are harboring an alien prince,” Clay types out onto his cell phone. He guessed that elves had very good hearing, and convinced everyone else to do the same. “We need some plan for if he turns on us. He can control our minds”.
They’d asked Marin last night if there was any visible sign that someone had been charmed. He said yes, but only if the charmed person was aware of it, which never happened unless the attacker was overconfident or rushing. Not very reassuring.
“Like what? There’s very little we can do about that”. Sierra replies. She is typing on that infamous computer, and doing it very quickly.
“Maybe we agree to talk to each other and call out weird stuff? S, we've already been doing that“. The girl nods. Clay was taking forever to type anyway.
Brian understands. He's the only one who's trusted Marin at all. “So the plan is to be skeptical of everything”.
“That way we'll be aware of anything that is changed”. Clay wears glasses that are a little too big and stubbornly refuses to do anything with his long brown hair. He looks perfectly ordinary, a bit disheveled, and it’s entirely on purpose. He puts the phone down and starts speaking. Apparently, this bit isn’t classified. “What do we know so far?”
Among other things, they know that Prince Marin Sondaica is 86 years old, stuck in between physical adulthood at 81 and full social adulthood at 108. (Just like how they’re all old enough to vote and drive but not drink or be considered separate from their parents). The elf world is parallel to theirs, with the capital existing in the same place as San Francisco. It’s a single global dictatorship with two associations of noble families fighting for control. Marin's family was reasonable enough, but Gens Mercuralis did a coup and is trying to take over the world. They should have a year or two until elves become common knowledge and the status quo collapses.
Then Sierra adds what she knows from years of university lab internships and overheard conversations. If you see a flash of color, especially green, prepare to run or fight or die. Magic is enough like radiation that a modified geiger counter can tell you if danger is near. Elves seem to avoid fighting underground. They’re very careful to not get caught on camera.
Brian turns his head and sees a cat’s eye glow in the dark. Their new friend is awake. Sierra and Clay seem to think there isn’t anything special about Marin, but he knows better. Brian is very familiar with how people move, and Marin is just a bit too quick. More than that, he moves very quietly. It reminds him of how he’s heard friends talk about parkour (land quietly, work with your body, reduce the impact on your joints), and he wonders again just how fragile elves are.
The prince approaches the group and they talk. They need a plan to stay alive, and they’re kind of a mess. Marin explains that they shouldn’t be attacked unless they are either alone, or somewhere elves can plan an ambush and keep things secret. It’s counterintuitive, but they need a human shield. Marin also has some ideas about elven settlements in the human world that might be sympathetic to them. Elves who love wild humanity will probably oppose the new government’s plan. Unfortunately, that means that Ishtar has probably sent soldiers to subdue them. Every visit will be a gamble. They might find allies, but they could also very easily get killed. Maybe it would be better if they traveled on their own for a bit.
...
So they get in the car and drive again. They eat breakfast at the most crowded place they can find and drive towards a hardware store where Sierra can buy a geiger counter. They come up with a system. Brian drives, Clay rides shotgun with the concussion rifle under his seat, Sierra googles things and tinkers with the geiger counter, and Marin tries his best to cast a more permanent illusion over the car. They listen to music from whatever radio stations they’re driving by, pester Marin with questions about his past, and plot a jagged course up California.
“Who else was in the human world when the coup happened? If you can switch between worlds so easily, there must have been some other people who got away”. Brian is a student of history. He knows a bit about how coups go, but mostly he's just curious about the magical society next door.
Marin stares out the window at miles and miles of farmland. “I can’t be sure. Genus Sondaica had over twenty people in it before the coup, and four of them were about my age. Those are the ones that were most likely to escape. We’re old enough to defend ourselves, but not influential enough to be primary targets”. His voice is very level. “But our genus also has allies. Each of those has even more people, but there’s no way of knowing who’s… left.”
A few seconds pass before Sierra speaks. “Yeah, but who was here before the coup? You didn’t know anything had happened, remember? You just brainwashed us for fun. Who else would do that?”
“The only one I'm certain of is Zerada Adust, my betrothed”.
Woah. Hold on a second. Brian knows that the elves have a hereditary noble class, but his betrothed? “You're betrothed to someone?”
“Ah. That’s not a Western concept anymore, is it? Most of the high nobility are betrothed to someone. It is important for keeping the nobility strong”.
Brian blinks. “Arranging marriages to try and keep an elite class 'strong' has caused some pretty big problems on earth”. Like, the fall of several dynasties.
Sierra rolls her eyes. "Marin, if you're using how messed up your society is to avoid talking about your girlfriend, it's working".
He looks around at the car. “Magical power is mostly genetic,” he adds as if that makes the statement more acceptable instead of less.
“And that's eugenics. That is also not good. Clay, are you still in favor of the elves taking over the world?” Brian adds. He does not know what to do with this information.
She laughs. “And they’re a monarchy too, remember that?”
“I was under a lot of stress!” Clay replies. "Between that and proposing a quest, I think what I said was a lot more normal".
Brian laughs to clear the air, but it sounds fake. Despite his family history, He doesn't believe in taking the easy way out. There's nothing wrong with choosing to stay and fight. They can't afford to be fighting now though, so he lets the conversation continue and keeps his eyes on the road.

A New Start: A Billy Hargrove Story
Nov.12, 1984: one week after the showdown at The Byers House
Billy Hargrove sat in his blue Camaro and finished his sandwich.
His stuff covered the backseat as well as the trunk.
His dad had kicked him to the curb when he heard what happened. Thankfully Billy had some money tucked away and got a room at a cheap but crappy hotel right outside town.
The plan was to come into town, get some fuel for the road and then head back to California. His friend said he could crash there and had a job lined up for him at a local resort as a lifeguard.
Billy loved the water since he was young, especially on a surfboard but his dad didn't care for him to be happy, ever and neither did his stepmom or sister either for that matter.
Throwing the sandwich wrapper in the little garbage can on the passenger side Billy started up the Camaro.
Just as he flipped off the little town in front of him he saw a familiar face starting to cross a street across from him.
It was Lucas Sinclair, his sister's boyfriend. He was with some younger girl who must be his younger sister.
He switched the car off so he wasn't seen and watched as the two stepped out into the street without even looking because they were arguing about something.
The sound of the engine roaring at top speed caught his attention and he looked over. The car was hurdling toward the two and he knew that the dumbass driver wasn't paying attention and neither were the two kids crossing the damn road.
The clock was ticking and Billy had two choices here, let Lucas and the kid get hit and more than likely killed or save their asses even though he knew they wouldn't save his back.
The screeching of tires and screaming caught the attention of all the other people out and about.
The driver of the car swore as sirens wailed. He was completely wasted and just hit a couple of kids. He was going to be jailed for life.
Sheriff Hopper arrived. “Hey man I didn't see them I'm so sorry” the man started pleading. “See who?” Hopper asked with a growl. “The two kids I hit in the crosswalk. Man, their blood is all over my windshield” the guy said, staring at his car. Hopper growled smelling the alcohol on him and from the blood, there was little chance the people he hit were alive.
Hopper cuffed the driver pushing him down into the police car and then slowly walked around to the front of the vehicle.
He was shocked by what he saw. Billy Hargrove was laying on the ground face first with Lucas and Erica Sinclair tucked into his body.
The kids had scrapes and were scared but they would be alright. Billy, on the other hand, Hopper saw no hope for.
Helping Lucas and Erica up after the EMTs got Billy on a gurney and covered so they couldn't see the full extent of his injuries, Hopper hugged them both.
“Let's get you two home shall we” Hopper said after both had been bandaged and given concussion tests. “Is that guy ok?” Erica asked, trying not to cry.
“Billy is probably not going to make it sweetie. I honestly don't know if he was alive when they took him” Hopper answered softly and that made Erica's tears finally flow.
“You ok Lucas?” Hopper asked the quiet kid next to Erica. Lucas just nodded but his eyes never left the gurney with the lifeless body of Billy Hargrove on it.
Nov.15, 1984: One week before Thanksgiving
Billy was still alive to the shock of the doctors but on life support. His spinal cord was busted and there was little hope for him to walk.
The brain damage was another issue. He allowed the car to hit him from behind and so the impact was great.
If he lives he probably won't be able to speak well or take care of himself. He will have to be in a care home since his parents have disowned him.
Lucas placed the flower vase next to Billy's bed as he listened to the doctors explain again to his mom they had little hope.
But Lucas knew differently. If anyone could overcome this it was Billy. He had to for the girl he loved so much, Billy had to get better for her, for Max.
Max barely left his hospital room. She held his hand and talked to him and cried and Lucas hated seeing that.
“Time to go” Lucas’s mom called and the two kids headed out. Sue went in and brushed the hair off Billy's face as she said a prayer. Kissing his forehead, Sue followed the kids out.
Nov.19, 1984: Three days before Thanksgiving
Billy opened his eyes slowly; it was the only part of his body that didn't hurt. He tried to look around but the brace on his neck wouldn't let him.
He tried to talk but the tubing attached to his mouth and face wouldn't allow that either.
He couldn't feel his arms and legs and panic started to set in. He tried to remember what happened but couldn't.
He felt the tears before he knew he was crying but didn't care. He was alone, in pain, and dying.
Closing his eyes he fell back into a deep sleep.
6 pm
Billy woke up again but this time he could move his neck a little. The room was faintly lighted and quiet except for the machines.
“I'm doomed to be alone” Billy thought as he remembered what happened. “At least if I die I might get to skip hell” he thought as he drifted back into what he thought would be eternal rest
Nov.22, 1984: Thanksgiving Day
That evening Billy was on his way back from physical therapy. He was glad no one could see him so beaten and destroyed. He walked a little on his own then fell.
He couldn't feed himself very well and his speech was greatly slurred. They had also shown him pamphlets of some of the group homes he might end up in.
He was in hell. He didn't even have to die. He fucked up and this was his eternal punishment.
The only thing he had to look forward to was whatever crap ass Thanksgiving wannabe meal the doctor would help him eat.
As he got closer he heard the sound of voices in his room. He thought he recognized some but others he didn't.
It wasn't until he heard the one voice he didn't want to, Max’s, that he tried to get up and get out.
“Billy how was therapy,” Max asked through tears while the doctor made sure he didn't leave the wheelchair. “Don't try to get up or move Billy” came an unrecognizable voice but he couldn't see who it was.
Suddenly he felt a hand in his. He couldn't mistake that hand for anyone else’s, it was Max.
“I'm so sorry Billy. I was so mad when I found out dad kicked you out and then I heard you were fighting for your life and they didn't seem to care but I do” Max said checking in tears.
Billy squeezed her hand. He didn't want to her to hear his slurred speech so he didn't talk but he could do that.
“Billy, I'm Sue Sinclair and I want to thank you for saving my children. I know that things have been tense between you and my son but I truly believe deep in your heart you're not a bad person” Sue said, placing a hand on his chest.
He heard his father's voice calling him a sissy but he didn't care and allowed himself to cry. He cried hard. Sue wrapped her arms around him and whispered “your no longer alone”.
“Thaan yoou,” Billy said allowing himself to show his weakness. Max wrapped her arms around him and said through her tears “We are going to live at the Sinclairs and they are going to make you better”.
Billy nodded and when he didn't think he could be any more surprised, Harrington brought over a plate of real turkey with all the trimmings.
“Eat up Hargrove, you owe me a rematch so you need your strength” Steve said with a smirk and went back to his plate.
“I could beat yoou in this cchaair Harrington” Billy said slyly and everyone laughed.
Lucas came over and put his hand out and said “let's make a truce. You stop hating on me because of my race and I will work on understanding the shit you were put through”.
Billy nodded and shook his hand and gently but firmly pulled him close and said “I am glad yoou and yoourr sister are ok but if yoou hurt Max in anyway I will kkil you and it won't be rrace related”.
Lucas nodded half scared and half happy. He hugged Billy and to his surprise Billy hugged him back.
The rest of the night was just everyone enjoying life. Billy let Max help him eat and was finally learning it was ok to need help.
Dec.15, 1984: Snowball Dance
Billy watched as his sister and Lucas shared their first dance and to his dismay their first kiss. He was happy for her.
He was still in the damn wheelchair and he still needed help with a lot of simple things but he was getting there.
He hoped by Christmas he would be on his feet and by summer he could help out at Hawkins pool as a lifeguard.
Feeling someone behind him he looked up and saw Patrick from the basketball team. He was a couple years below him but they hit it off and even with his father's taunts in his ears he was proud to be open with him.
Patrick kissed him and they watched the kids dance and enjoy themselves together.

BIOGRAPHY
[tw: mentions of depression & suicide]
INVINCIBLE -
It was the word that often came to mind whenever the name Amanda Chey Johnson rolled off your tongue. Age seven, naïve as ever, she climbed the highest tree in her neighborhood’s park out of sheer stubbornness of proving herself to her brothers. The fall, however, couldve been deadly – should’ve been deadly as she tumbled to the ground head first.
EXTRA INFO
Her whole family, and those closest to her, tend to call her "Mandy". She is a woman of many names - Amanda, Chey, Mandy, Manda... Most know her simply by Chey. Her whole family have 'C' names, and though her mother originally named her Amanda to break away from that annoying trend, they ultimately ended up calling her by her middle name.
(connection taken by: xavier matthews)
She's family oriented at her core and often misses when life was less busy.
She has extreme confidence when it comes to her abilities in her career and skills. However, when it comes to the world of romance, she is full of doubt. One too many bad experiences has scorn her for good and she fully believes that a happy ending is not in her future.

full name. gage thatcher
age. 29
residential area. x
hometown. siesta key, florida
occupation. handyman for siesta repairs
faceclaim. cam gigandet
glazed eyes, unorganized apartment, beer and cigarettes, broken surfboards, saltwater, skating through life, wasted potential, long naps, late night bonfires, cracked iphone screen, being a shell of who you really are, always wanting more, clenched fists, fighting outside bars, mugshots, black eyes, bloody lips, avoiding family reunions, wetsuits, spiked coffee, one-night stands.
HISTORY
gage was raised in siesta key but his family didn’t have all the bells and whistles most families did. he was the one with the outdated iphone and knockoffs, the kid who couldn’t concentrate in class or pass a test without cheating. his confidence was blown from an early age and no matter how much time he spent trying to build it up, he always failed.
surfing was something he was good at. once he caught onto it, he excelled and it made him feel like he had something special to hold onto. he didn’t feel like a complete failure when he was in the water, ripping waves better than anyone else. but it was his temper that held him back from being scouted during competitions. he didn’t have much sportsmanship and would get into fights when he thought someone was disrespecting him.
because of his overall attitude, he wound up with a bad crowd and got into partying and drugs. he was kicked out of his house at 15 and sought affection through one-night stands. he never got attached to anyone but camila, his best friend’s girlfriend, but she was off-limits despite them hooking up in secret.
after high school, gage would get sponsored by a group called ‘locals only’. they didn’t pay well and the surf equipment he’d receive from them was cheap, but he felt like he accomplished something and would eventually rise to the top. however, that didn’t happen. 10 years of traveling coast to coast didn’t turn him into a superstar. he was scammed out of so many opportunities and eventually got into a fistfight with his boss. now blacklisted from competition, gage has returned to siesta key for good. he’s been working under his uncle cooley as a hired handyman. “if it breaks, we can fix it,” that’s the motto. it’s lame and humiliating but it pays his bills.

Tips for Flying with Sports Equipment
Book cheap flight tickets and hotels- https://trailtravelz.com/
Flying with sports equipment can be a daunting task, whether you're a professional athlete, an avid adventurer, or simply heading out for a recreational trip. Sports gear often comes with unique challenges due to its size, weight, and sometimes fragile nature. However, with proper planning and knowledge of airline policies, you can navigate the complexities and ensure a smooth journey with your equipment. This guide provides essential tips to help you travel hassle-free with your sports gear.
1. Know Airline Policies and Fees
Each airline has specific policies regarding sports equipment, including size restrictions, weight limits, and additional fees. Before booking your ticket, thoroughly research the policies of your chosen airline. Some airlines treat sports equipment as regular checked baggage, while others may charge extra fees or have separate regulations for different types of equipment such as skis, surfboards, or bicycles.
2. Pack Properly
Proper packing is crucial to protect your sports equipment from damage during transit. Use sturdy, hard-shell cases or specialized bags designed for your specific gear. Ensure that fragile items are well-padded with bubble wrap or foam, and use straps to secure everything in place. Label your equipment clearly with your name, contact information, and destination address to facilitate identification and prevent loss.
3. Check Weight and Dimensions
Before heading to the airport, double-check the weight and dimensions of your sports equipment to ensure it complies with the airline's requirements. Exceeding size or weight limits can result in additional fees or even refusal by the airline to transport your gear. Measure your equipment carefully, including any added packaging, and weigh it using a luggage scale to avoid surprises at check-in.
4. Book Direct Flights When Possible
Direct flights reduce the risk of mishandling or loss of your sports equipment during layovers or transfers. If a direct flight is not possible, choose connecting flights with ample layover times to allow for proper handling and transfer of your gear between planes. Always confirm with the airline that your equipment will be transferred to your final destination, especially if you have multiple flight segments.
5. Arrive Early at the Airport
Arriving early at the airport gives you sufficient time to check in your sports equipment without rushing. Airlines often recommend earlier check-in times for passengers with oversized or special baggage. Plan to arrive at least two to three hours before your flight to ensure there is enough time for check-in, security screening, and any necessary documentation related to your sports gear.
6. Consider Insurance Coverage
Sports equipment can be expensive and sometimes irreplaceable. Consider purchasing travel insurance that specifically covers your gear in case of loss, damage, or theft during your journey. Check the coverage limits and exclusions of your policy to ensure it adequately protects your investment in sports equipment.
7. Communicate with the Airline
If you have any concerns or specific requirements regarding your sports equipment, communicate with the airline in advance. Some airlines may offer special handling or storage options for sports gear, especially if it requires delicate handling or oversized storage space. Providing advance notice allows the airline to make necessary arrangements and helps streamline the check-in process.
8. Know Your Rights
Familiarize yourself with your rights as a passenger traveling with sports equipment. Understanding your entitlements regarding compensation for loss or damage, as well as the airline's liability limits, can be beneficial in case of any unforeseen incidents during your journey. Airlines are generally liable for damage caused to checked baggage, including sports equipment, up to a certain amount specified in their terms and conditions.
9. Stay Informed About Local Regulations
Different countries and airports may have specific regulations regarding the importation of sports equipment. Research any customs requirements or restrictions that may apply to your destination to avoid delays or complications upon arrival. Some equipment, such as firearms or certain types of fishing gear, may require special permits or declarations.
10. Plan for Storage at Your Destination
Upon arrival at your destination, ensure you have arrangements for storing your sports equipment securely. Hotels, resorts, or local rental shops may offer storage options or equipment lockers for convenience. Plan ahead and inquire about storage facilities before you travel to avoid last-minute hassles.
By following these tips, you can minimize stress and ensure that your sports equipment arrives safely and in good condition at your destination. Remember that preparation and awareness of airline policies are key to a successful journey with your beloved gear.

National Bikini Day
Hit the beach or lay out in the sun in your bikini on the anniversary of the invention of this ever-popular two-piece swimsuit in 1946. Don’t forget sunscreen!
National Bikini Day is the anniversary of the invention of the bikini in 1946 by a Parisian fashion designer, Louis Reard. The goal of this holiday is to get to the closest beach, or find some cheap travel deals to the Philippines, Bali, Hawaii or anywhere with lots of beaches, and spend the day– or even a whole week – in that bikini!
History of National Bikini Day
Over the years, the suits worn for swimming have evolved along with modern culture. In the early 1900s, swimming costumes were rather bulky, including long skirts for women and long pants for men. Their styles were often inspired by sailor suits, including stripes as well as large collars, but certainly covering up the arms, legs and neck.
As swimwear and fashion changed, styles began to use less fabric and became more form-fitting, likely for practical reasons because swimming with a lot of clothes on can be a safety hazard. But modesty continued to be an issue and in the 1920s-40s there were often beach “police” who would monitor the swimsuits women wore. A woman could be sent to jail for wearing a swimsuit that was too revealing!
The introduction of the bikini in the mid-1940s brought with it a new era of freedom as women began showing their midriffs at the beach and swimming pool. Since the time of its creation in 1946, the bikini has been celebrated as a symbol of a woman’s right to dress as they like.
Falling at the perfect time in the hot days of summer, National Bikini Day pays heed to the freedom women (and men!) have to wear the swimsuits they want. In a culture that has had a tendency to be body-shaming, this day encourages people of all shapes to forget about the need to look like a swimsuit model and just enjoy themselves!
How to Celebrate National Bikini Day
Enjoy some fun in the sun and celebrate National Bikini Day at the same time! Try out some of these ideas for enjoying the day:
Wear a Bikini
Be body-positive on National Bikini Day and put on that two piece suit for the beach, the pool, the sand volleyball court or somewhere else in the sunshine. Slather on some sunscreen, pull out that beach ball or surfboard and head on over to catch some rays. Invite some friends along to celebrate the day and enjoy the freedoms women now have to wear what they want while swimming.
Make a National Bikini Day Playlist
One favorite way to celebrate any sort of holiday is by having a load of music that goes along with the theme. Because everything is better with music! In honor of National Bikini Day, get involved with the day by listening to some bikini themed tunes. Start off with some of these song titles and build a playlist from there:
Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini by Brian Hyland (1960). This classic beach song offers a smash hit homage to the swimsuit of the day.
Ghost in a Bikini by The Judys (1985). Featured in the movie Married to the Mob, this one leans on the edge of being an eighties classic song.
California Girls by The Beach Boys (1965). Another popular ode to beaches, and the girls who occupy them, lets everyone sing along.
Girls in Bikinis by Poppy (2018). This song aims to celebrate the empowerment of women while encouraging people to just wear what they want.
