Obsessed with the way Cameron preaches kindness and compassion but the minute a patient does something she deems unethical she turns downright cruel and even vindictive
#i think at its core house is a show the really leans into hypocrisy#everyone lectures house about things that they then do themselves#they've just decided their reasons are justified#house (the narrative) holds up a mirror to those characters and says 'if it's fine then why is it not fine now?'#'if it's not fine then why is it suddenly fine now?'#house is a terrible person but every terrible trait he has is embodied in one of the other characters#chase is uncaring foreman is proud cameron is cruel#wilson is manipulative cuddy is petty#idr the new ducklings' toxic traits but i'm sure this is true of them too#and the thing that is supposed to be their redeeming trait that they throw out is one that house has in abundance:#a single-minded focus on everyone deserving medical care regardless of any other factor#like yeah he treats people like shit but if he had his way every single person would have the power to walk into a hospital or clinic#and get treated and seen to and have their medical needs taken care of#(not by him god don't involve him unless it's interesting but like#just in general)#and someone doing something unethical or morally bad or that he disapproves of never changes that#even when he's angry at them and ready to spit fire he still has every intention of diagnosing them and figuring out how to treat them
