Hello! Can I ask you for some romantic headcanons for comics lackadaisy Wes Clyde.

Incredibly based of u to request lackadaisy PLUS a fairly new/minor(?) Character im very fond of. also uhh oops this ended up being some additional dating HCs as well?

No warnings, reader is intended to be femme.

So - it's easy to get Wes' attention. He likes a pretty face and he frequents places that are full of them - not just the Marigold speakeasy he works for, but other illicit bars and dance halls. It's a special thing for him to keep interested in a particular person, especially when his job has him out at all hours.

His more old-fashioned side comes out, first of all! He wants to be the protector. He wants to have his pretty thing on his arm while they walk down the boulevard, he wants to open doors for them and surprise them by sending flowers.

Yes, this is totally against the persona he has to wear for work. Being with someone allows him to be gentler and more vulnerable, something Wes didn't realize he needed. Going out on the town is fun, but he prefers places his fellow gangsters don't frequent so the dates are more private. When he's totally comfortable, he likes to hold your hand and kiss your knuckles. He likes bringing you close during dances and all but pulling you onto his lap during dinners. If he were around his 'associates', this sort of affection wouldn't be possible.

(That said, no matter how nice the date spot is, he always ends up looking like a gangster... his face doesn't help).

He's excellent at remembering things you like and notices when you admire something. You'll get a modest-looking package at work or home, and it's a charmimg bracelet or necklace you had your eye on. The flowers are ones you've mentioned liking, the date spots are places you mentioned wanting to go to, etc.

(If you compliment Wes on how attentive and romantic he is, he becomes unusually flustered. This is also why your flowers and gifts arrive by mail rather than in person; your happy face will just send him into a fluttery, painfully sentimental and sappy mood. Just thinking about your reaction makes him bury his face in his paws.)

((Though there's a total double standard where he loves flustering you, especially if you're tough to impress.))

The petnames will start to show up after dating for a few months. There's the classic "doll" and "sweetheart", though they sound a little different when he says it. Warmer and more affectionate than you've heard before, perhaps. He starts to use those in lieu of your name, with "kitten" is exclusively for flirting and messing around. For himself, he prefers his name, but isn't adverse to endearments.

If you were the type who was really into the gangster life ... wellll, maybe he'll drive you around the backroads in one of Marigold's souped up bootlegging cars and intimidate some assholes for you. He'll play the part for a while if it pleases you - but for the most part, his work and personal life is separate. No way is he introducing you to his gang members, nor would he want you hanging around the Maribel Hotel. Even if you frequented their establishment before, he'd want you to stay away once the relationship is more serious.

A few reasons for this. Wes likes his privacy, he doesn't trust his fellow gangsters worth a damn (just them looking at you for too long will lead to their nose getting bashed or their ears being boxed) and he wants you to be safe. He's been in the game long enough to know his feelings are a liability, and you can be used as leverage.

He's also not a domestic sort of cat. Being introduced to parents or taking homemade dinners at home is a bit too far and will lead to cold feet. That's something that would have to come very slowy, but he's also a realist. Wes has a dangerous job, one that most don't approve of. He doesn't want to bring danger on your doorstep, or worse - you having to choose between him and a more "normal" life and partner. Because as tough as he is, the thought of being left because he's a lowlife and dangerous hurts. He won't mention any of these concerns, but it's the thoughts that drift around when you try to be more serious and committed about the relationship. Wes' response is usually a gruff, "Ain't it fine the way it is, doll?"

You are sat on your sofa, just lounging. Before you hear a knock at the door. You sigh as you can’t be bothered to go see who it is but you manage to roll yourself off the sofa and walk to the door. Before opening the door you take a deep breathe since you have trouble speaking to people, socially. You open the door and mason is stood there with his arms folded and a big smile on his face. “Mason” y/n says as your head is tilted with confusion. “I needed company” mason says with a sweet and charmimg smile while looking into your eyes. After mason said that, a smile immediately grows on your face. “Aww. come in, you” you say before opening the door wider for mason to come inside.

Mason enters your house and has a look around “you got a lovely place, you know that y/n?” Mason says while glancing down at you. “Well thank you mason” you reply with a smirk, followed by you patting masons arm, he smiles at you. “Would you like a drink?” Y/n asks mason, waiting for a response. “Just a water please” he replies and y/n follows that response with a laugh “you’re a basic bitch then. I see, I see” y/n says teasingly making mason laugh at you. Mason follows behind you, into the kitchen. You pass him a bottle of water and then grab one for yourself. “So. since you bombarded my chill time, what would you like to do?” You say as Mason laughs and then raises his eyebrows “bombarded aye?” He says and dramatically gasps, followed with a laugh “maybe we could watch a film together” he says while looking down at you again. “Sure, come on then” y/n says with a smile before leading the way to the sofa, before you could blink, mason gently barges past you “race ya!” He says with a confident laugh while running. Y/n roll’s her eyes at you before chasing behind you “get back here, you little shit!” You shout, causing masons laugh to grow even bigger. But something about that laugh makes you feel so fuzzy inside, are you falling in love? Who knows.

After you chased behind mason to the sofa, you finally catch up to him. “You cheated, you didn’t even count down” y/n manages to say while puffing out of breath with your hands leaning against your knees. “Oh shush. even if I did count down, you would still lose” mason says flirtatiously while nudging you gently, causing you to smile quite a lot and your cheeks to turn pink. You gently slap his arm in response to the nudge and mason just laughs loudly while rubbing his arm sarcastically, pretending that it hurt. You roll your eyes with a smile as you watch mason get comfortable on the sofa while y/n gets a blanket for you both and some popcorn too. Y/n comes back with the bowl of popcorn in her hand and the blanket wrapped around her spare arm. “You look like my slave” mason says with a smirk before letting out a little laugh as y/n gasps at what you said “you cheeky shit” y/n says before sitting down next to mason. He already picked the film, a romance one. Of course, when does mason ever not want to watch a romance film? Never.

You and mason are now watching the film, mason has managed to get close enough to you that he is basically sitting on your lap, but you don’t complain about it one bit. Mason tilts his head your direction, giving the hint that he wants to cuddle. You smile widely before getting into a complete new position that mason would be comfortable in.. you lay down on the sofa and he lays in between your legs, with his head rested on your stomach gently. “Comfy?” Y/n asks, making sure he is but as you ask you can already see a huge smile on his face. He nods to your question and continues to watch the film again. Without thinking, you start to play with masons hair, it was very fluffy and soft, so basically perfect. You also use your nails which causes masons eyes to get heavy, you catch him almost falling asleep and you let out a quiet laugh at him. He has his hands on either side of you very gently and there is just silence between you both with the film playing In the background.. but in this moment, y/n realises that she has fallen in love with this pretty brunette that is in her arms. Her heart beats that little bit faster around him and her smile grows that little bit bigger too. You are just laying here, trying to keep as still as possible so that you don’t wake mason up.

After a few hours, you are still laying on the sofa with mason still asleep. You think to yourself how a human can sleep so long, but just as you thought that, Mason slowly starts waking up. “Nice of you to finally wake up, sleepyhead” y/n says with a smile as you stroke his head gently with your nails, causing mason to smile and hide his face into your stomach. When mason first wakes up he isn’t very talkative because he has to wake up fully before he can be bothered to even say hi, he is like a baby but it’s so adorable for y/n. Masons hands has also been in the same place since he’s fallen asleep, he hasn’t been able to let go of y/n’s perfect body all day. You love his touch, it makes you feel safe and warm inside. I’m sure mason feels the same when you touch him too. “You are going to be my new pillow from now on! You are so comfy” mason says sweetly, his voice still sounding sleepy and raspy but also very charming. “Well you can be my blanket then” you reply, matching the energy. Making mason laugh into your stomach. You poke his side gently making him move slightly and laugh even more “blankets aren’t supposed to move though” you say as you are poking him. he holds your hands while giggling so that you can’t touch him anymore and he smiles, making them dimples show. You smile and gently pinch his little dimples making his face turn bright pink.

I fhink JE is a mediocre actor bt i think he gets pushed so hard cuz he looks lik a typical movie star. He def is limited in playine mean/abusive character. Saltburn was different and he actually did good with playing a charmimg character tho. SNL is lame bt he was stuggling with the comedy and they focused on his looks and ik his Elvis was different than the actual Elvis movie, bt i cannot see that man in a musical or in a movie that he wuld sing or dance😭 i feel lik he wuld look too awkward. And mayb that will b no problem for him cuz he seems veey interested in more serious/drama movies.

I still haven't made up my full mind about JE yet acting-wise. 🤔

I feel like I need to see him lead a film first before I make my full decision. I felt like he was the weakest link in TKB personally 👀, but it was just a silly rom-com flick, and it's not like he was unbearably awful in it or anything.

In my dream world, and this is going to be controversial, I would love to see Harry open up a little more. Maybe make his Instagram more personal. Post for his mom’s birthday. Talk about how grateful he is for his fans. Share what he’s doing every once in a while. Share some of his feelings about love and places he likes, maybe his favorite recipe or book. I’d also want to see him openly support other artists/people just because and not when it’s convenient for him. I also think he should better communicate with his fans. I think the relationship between him and his fans has turned into a relationship between God and her followers, which it shouldn’t be. It seems unhealthy and I fully believe if he set boundaries and talked about it, we would see a major shift in a positive way.

I 100% agree. And for me personally, he doesn't even have to be SO active like every single day. Even if he made a "hello how are you all" post once a week just to check up on his fans to show he's not forgotten about us would be incredible. There's a reason why we all go crazy whenever he does something like accidently post a pic on his public story of him wearing a 1D shirt when it was meant to be for his close friends. It's because Harry starves us. He starves us to the point that we take anything he does and go crazy over it. And the whole "I'm mysterious" image may work, but that really only works on the younger fans. The young teenagers. And just like how we all grew up, they will also one day grow up into adults and realise "mmhhh I wish Harry would do more for us. It's not really fun when we hardly get content from our idol unless he's promoting something." And one day there will be another Harry Styles. A new fresh young artist just like Harry back in 2010 and that new charmimg artist will become popular just like Harry did and teenagers will fall in love with them. Let's see. A 30 / 40 year old man who only remembers his fans when he's got something to promote or a young handsome and charming new artist who is just starting his career. Who do you guys think will attract the young teenagers? Harry and his team can keep doing what they're doing but I can promise them that this strategy they have at the moment won't work for long. Us OG fans from the 1D days have grown up. The new fans he gained will also grow up into adults and (hopefully) be mature and will be able to tell right from wrong. We're not asking for much from him. And I get he's off social media and I'm glad he is because if I was him I would be offline too. But if he came online every once in a while even that would be enough (for me).

Just basically show us how much you love us. Because you say you love us but when you're not working it's like we don't hear from you at all. And as fans who devote our time for you and spend our hard earned money for you, we deserve more than small crumbs.

I know you're a huge Peter Pan fan. Have you ever seen the 1960s TV play starring Mary Martin as Peter and Cyril Ritchard as Captain Hook? If you have, what did you think?

I've seen clips of it so far and listened to the soundtrack ("I gotta Crow" plays in my head on repeat constantly along with "Wendy") but I haven't seen the whole play. It looks very charmimg from what I did see and I enjoy the songs, I'll have to give it full justice and eventually watch it along with Cathy Rigby's (another play that I've seen in clips but a play I'm excited to see)
