Just an update on Char of Us.

It has been an incredible year for my wife and myself. Every life moment even has never come easy. I was scrolling through past Instagram posts & found a photo I took over a year ago...it's of a large outdoor chalkboard with the title 'Before I die:' with blank spaces are provided. In one space we wrote "I hope to legally marry the woman of my dreams" followed by an equality sign. Although planning our wedding for close to 2 years, we never imagined same-sex marriage to become legal in the state of Virginia-- yet here we are married. 

We have been living with roommates since we graduated at Virginia Wesleyan...it has always been about compromising our life. Furniture, how our dogs are, how the rules are for keeping the house clean, and so on. Recently we have been living with my youngest niece who is almost 2, and her mother and with all the joy it brought into our lives it was also the biggest challenge yet. Due to miscommunication/misunderstandings it was quickly discovered that they would be moving out which left us with a forced decision to have to move. 

We went on a couple house hunts, and fell in love with a little 3 bedroom house that is the perfect size for our little family. It is full of character, with both new and old touches, and is owned by a powerhouse gay couple. With all that holds us down we managed, by the grace of God, approval to rent the house and we signed a lease that following week! 

So here we are, nearing the end of our year. We are married, we will have our own house to start our family with, and we will finally enjoy our life as newly weds in the honeymoon stage.

I'm officially a DAIGER!

Sorry I have been MIA this past week-- I GOT MARRIED! As most of you know, since it has become legal here in VA I have officially been married since October 7th. Since our engagement we have always planned to have our actual wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on November 7th! Stay tuned to a ton of pictures!!
