MINOR CHARACTER MARCH MADNESS

Get ready for a March Madness Tournament for all the kid characters who exist only in the background, or only once, or just not nearly enough times in South Park. Each poll will last a day, with multiple polls going every day (at least for the start). I tried my best to pick truly minor characters but if you think one isn't minor enough or are sad I forgot one... sorry I don't feel like rearranging the entire tournament at this point 😅

Each character has been sorted into seeds 1-16 based on how prevalent I think they still are in people's memories and then paired up just like regular March Madness (i.e. 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, etc) so apologies if some early match ups seem unfair. It'll hopefully make any upsets that much more exciting!

Boggart: Herself, though pockmarked with feathers and claws and blood and teeth. Her mirror image is holding one of her friends‘ signature items (ex. Rowan’s glasses), and manically grinning from ear to ear and there’s blood all over her too-sharp teeth. She’s never figured out a good Riddikulus for it.

General:

- Her main nickname, and the name she goes by most often, is “Kat”. Only her Aunt Charlotte, whom she lives with, can call her “Katrina” and get away with it. Rakepick calls her “Miss Ekaterina“ sometimes and she’s visibly uncomfortable about it, but too worried about upsetting her to do anything about it.

- Her default mood is anxious, but she can relax when she’s around the people she loves, and can get quite goofy and loud sometimes, though usually not in a public setting. Sometimes she speaks too fast and her brain can’t form her thoughts into words, (ex. “Oh yeah, i know right? That’s the - the - thethethethethethe -“) and her friends have to fill it the rest of the sentence most of the time.

- She was cursed by a dark wizard at a very young age, seemingly because her house was the first house he could get into. Her cursed form is an awful monster with many sharp teeth, claws, feathers and scales, and she takes pills to suppress her curse so she doesn’t turn into that again. She stopped once, when she was nine and upset at her mother. It did not go well.

- Partially due to this curse, she’s pescatarian! She can’t really stomach red meat or poultry, but found that she loves fruits and vegetables, and eats fish sparingly. Her favorite fruit is an orange.

- Also due to her curse (it effects many aspects of her life), she’s completely colorblind! She can only see in greyscale, and it affects her ability to do well in Potions. Penny made her a temporary anti-colorblindness potion once for her birthday and she cried. All day she went around excitedly pointing at brightly-colored objects and hair (Tonks got A Lot of attention that day), and even ran up to Merula to tell her that her eye color is “beautiful” before sprinting off to yell about moss.

- Kat loves dueling! When she’s not researching the cursed vaults or studying or hanging out with friends, she’s constantly thinking about dueling, and every spell she learns in Charms is subject to the “how can i use this in a match?” treatment. She has a pretty even split of wins and losses since she’s constantly trying new strategies. This causes a number of injuries and does not endear her to Madam Pomfrey. She becomes the dueling club president in seventh year.

- She loves Transfiguration, and is super passionate about it. Something about transforming one thing into another is fascinating to her, and she’s often seen badgering Professor McGonagall about different theories. By contrast, her worse subject is flying, though that’s mostly due to her being unable to balance on a broom properly. The only way she can fly semi-straight is upside-down, much to the chagrin of Madam Hooch.

- Despite this, she’s actually fairly athletic! She’s extremely fast and agile, which helps her in dueling, and also very physically strong. If Alohamora won’t work on a lock, her next strategy is to bash it in with her shoulder.

- She was born on Valentine’s Day, but tends to forget her birthday due to the festivities and the fact that she hadn’t celebrated it in a while. She doesn’t like big celebrations, especially for her (she feels like she doesn’t deserve them), so the first time she told Rowan when her birthday was, it was in May of first year when they asked offhandedly. She made them promise not to tell anyone, as she feels like she’ll inconvenience everyone by having them get her a birthday gift when they could spend that money and time with their partner. Of course the truth eventually comes out, and she celebrates her birthday on the 15th as compromise.

- The biggest plot twist in hphm is that she has an E grade average.

It wasn’t the worst winter Chicago had ever had, but if you believed the Vasile media coverage, it was close. Blizzard flurries had coated the crimson city in white. Each new day brought a fresh coat of 5-10 inches of shaved ice. People had grown accustomed to becoming recluse in the winter. Staying in the warm confines of their homes to watch the wind whistle the frost on the streets. The temperatures were well below double negatives, and even the animals of the city would much rather be dealing with their backs to a furnace.

Normally the storms don’t last this long, but this night it’s exceptionally worst. The wheezing air scratches against the windows of every establishment in town. Followed by a explosive boom as the transporters in different areas become the claimed victim of Mother Nature. Electricity starts to fizzle and snap away as each house on the street becomes shrouded in darkness. The street lights are lost in the winter abyss. Sounds of automobiles crashing and the whispered hums from the broken generator paint the macabre picture of November 25th.

The backup generators don’t turn on, and it’s only a matter of time before each resident packs up a change of clothes. The radio blips in and out of signal but mentions a shelter on neutral territory. It’s here everyone finds themselves. A gift of light, but will it cost a life ? As the Fausts, O’Sheas, Leons, Washingtons, and even the Vasiles end up at the same base. Is anyone safe ? Or will the Winter Wonderland casualty count rise with the war being in one well lit hotel ?

Keep in mind that all characters can do their own thing this event! We tried something different than plot slots this time and have the below organized groups: If you have more than 2 characters, the others will be intertwined in the chaos. 

Each group below finds themselves in a fresh hotel room that’s been changed around to hold cots instead of it’s normal amenities. The adjoined rooms are locked. There’s a glitch in the hotel where once the door to the rooms close - it locks into place. Now the people that despise one another are forced to figure out how to get the hell away from one another in this macabre shelter. The cell towers are unstable meaning the signals go from full to dead zone merely taking one step in one direction.
