The only actually confusing thing with the whole Tucker Carlson story was his writer using the handle CharlesXII.  Then, I got more confused reading the Charles XII wikipedia page...because the guy was just a 17th/18th century monarch who gloriously lost the Great Northern War. So if anyone else both noticed the handle and was confused:  here’s a helpful article.

Top rated Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson announced a”long projected” trout fishing holiday Monday night after a senior author on his show Blake Neff resigned in disgrace after racist and sexist remarks he submitted anonymously online were subjected by CNN late last week. Carlson stated Brian Kilmeade would be meeting in the next four nights and that segments that were recorded could be revealed. Carlson held out the possibility of returning “if something dramatic happens”. Carlson dealt with Neff’s resignation and his holiday plans in separate segments on the show of Monday.

On June 24, Neff commented,”Truthfully given how exhausted black individuals constantly claim to be, maybe the actual crisis is that their lack of sleep.” …while working at Fox News, and while a reporter in The Daily Caller, Neff was a regular poster on AutoAdmit. Also known as XOXOhth, it is a unmoderated message board like 4chan aimed at lawyers and law school pupils where racism and sexism run rampant. The board’s vulgar content was formerly the subject of much criticism, also just two Yale students sued posters alleging they had been defamed by them made threatening remarks. The Hartford Courant reported that the suit was settled after some of the posters were also identified. Neff, who posts on the board under the CharlesXII, is widely admired on the forum, with posters knowing the person supporting the account functions on Carlson’s show. He has spent years detailing aspects of their life, giving his political opinions, and submitting about background. After studying of Neff’s articles on the board via an email from an anonymous tipster, CNN Business was able to positively identify CharlesXII as Neff by assessing messages he’s posted during the years on the forum and then matching them up using publicly available info about him…

The Daily Show lampooned fox’s custom of hosts as controversy wakes up, suddenly going on holiday. Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Fox host Bill O’Reilly each went on holiday during difficult times for their displays using O’Reilly maybe perhaps not returning. Activists have been campaigning for Tucker Carlson removed the air through intimidation and pupil boycotts.
