The '#hybrid' festival will take on the form of: - An on-line streaming event on FB: https://www.facebook.com/lapovertydepartment/live/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/LAPOVERTYDEPARTMENT --> direct link: t.ly/ Due to the continuing #pandemic, this year’s festival will of necessity take a hybrid, online and live form, streaming live on #FaceBook and #YouTube. The Department of Rec and Parks has limited access to #GladysPark, the usual site of the Festival, to 50 people. In compliance with this policy and in accord with our concerns for the safety of all, we’ve devised a hybrid plan for presenting this year’s festival ONLINE and with a limited live presence in Gladys Park and at Festival partner #Studio526’s visual arts space. Here’s the plan: Skid Row artists are submitting videos of their work, both performances and visual arts. Chella Coleman, our MC will be hosting the festival ---- LIVE from her own private location. The MC will introduce the videos which Skid Row Artists have submitted of their work and interview (via zoom) some of the artists. - At Studio 526 several artists will paint a collaborative painting, as they do each year with many contributors in the park – but this time socially distanced (using 6-foot brushes). They'll give us updates and ask for input during the #LiveStream. - The live stream will be projected on a big screen in Gladys park (corner of 6th Street and Gladys Avenue) for 50 #PhysicallyDistancedPeople. #TheSkidRowDrummers will open the festival in Gladys park and #CharlesPorter of Festival partner #UCEPP, will be live in the park and dialog with the MC – on video — during the Festival. If there were, Prudence McDaniel might not have been so shocked when several particularly fine-looking members of the species decide to visit her New Age store, the Celtic Moon. Come to think of it, Greece’s history doesn’t mention much about vampires either, but that’s where Prudence ultimately ends up, after being abruptly turned and then almost simultaneously declared the savior of the disappearing race. Wildly sexy men and fabulous castles aside, Prudence isn’t so sure she wants to carry the burden of an entire people on her shoulders, but it seems she doesn’t have much of a choice. The heavy load is eased by the ultra-hot vampires who introduce her to the new world she now inhabits and all the pleasures of an undead lifestyle. Unfortunately, as soon as she becomes attached to almost-immortality, her own life suddenly hangs in the balance. It will take every inch of Prudence’s stubborn streak to pull her through. And even if she does survive, it might be at the expense of the man she has fallen for, fangs-over-heels. Can anything be worth that?
