Hence, I painted them black “It would not be an exaggeration to say that what we see as normal sight in our day-to-day life is nothing but the destruction and colonisation of nature. The instruments, equipment and simulated structures we have erected towards this one-way journey of destruction often threatens me. The dilemma is that it all comes in the name of progress and development. Though I am not willing to participate in this process of destruction, I am still a part of this phenomenon owing to the power of its perpetrators. My attempt is to understand the predicament of our times and I see my works as a reaction to these destructive processes. Hence, I painted them black.” - Subhakar Tadi

Life drawing is one the greatest art forms. It's just the artist scrutinising the human form. This is a drawing from my first ever life drawing class and I remember the intensity of making this drawing and trying to capture the light and dark. I sometimes yearn for that time when I made art as a teenager full of dreams and a zeal to learn. Always learning but maybe lost some of that daring #lifedrawing #blackandwhite #charcoalandink #sanchitaislam #pigmentexplosion
