Here’s the information on Shidou’s page! A number of things are repeat information from the 1Q1A posts on twitter so I’m starting with the things that are new! As always please forgive me if I make mistakes, please remember that reading manga is just a way for me to retain knowledge after studying! :^)

**Note, these next two questions were kind of hard for me to put into English. They’re both seeming to ask “You’re happiest/saddest when this happens” but it can also be “You’re happiest/saddest when doing” Based on his answers, I’m going with “You’re happiest when doing” and “You’re saddest when this happens”

You’re happiest when doing: Pass (As in, I believe that he passed on the question and didn’t want to answer.)

You’re sad when this happens: When someone can’t explode (The literal japanese is 爆発しない人間 which would just be non-exploding human. I think he’s saying he’s sad when people can’t make his “heart explode” as he’s stated in the manga before)

Amount of time sleeping: 7 hours

This next question is about the chocolate coated biscuits called “Kinoko (mushroom) no Yama” and “Takenoko (bamboo shoot) no Sato” by Meiji. It’s a fun rivalry to ask do you prefer the mushroom or bamboo shoots.

So. I want to start a bnha characterization guide series, which is the short way to way to say I’m trying to plot/write a fic, and if I’m going to make reference material for myself, I may as well post it so other people can use it as food for thought too. I’m calling it my characterbook.

This site has some good character meta, but my experience is that it’s too narrowly focused to be effective as a guide to who the character is. There are also some good “how to write x character” posts, but they’re really hard to find and aren’t as thorough as meta tends to be.

My goal is to make a crossover, basically, and write profiles that synthesize what I want to know to help write fanfic without needing to reread the manga again/slough through partially-relevant meta. The closest type of writing I can compare it to is a role-play character application. Because my intentions are fanfic-oriented, my analysis is going to be based off canon but not limited to it. The idea is to flesh out characters enough to write them in fanfic, not to replicate, explain, or predict canon.

I haven’t decided on a format or how to organize stuff…I don’t want to make a single mega-post for each character where I dump all my thoughts. So I might experiment with a few different structures.

Here’s a working list of the things I’m going to consider:

What the character wants and why they want it;

What they fear and why they fear it;

Their sense of humor;

Personality traits and behavioral tics;

An overview of their development to look at how characterization changes depending on when the story is set.

I bought the My Hero Academia Characterbook yesterday and I really enjoy reading it so I thought I'd share some of my favorite Personal Data about some of the pro heroes! It's in german, so I'll explain: the word "mag" means "this hero likes" and some are just really cute or funny: (from first to last pic) all might likes the trees on the island Yakushima and saved a village that suffered from a drought period by changing the weather, eraserhead likes cats (it's fucking confirmed I love it), recovery girl likes sweets (that one's just sweet (haha)), mt. Lady likes peaches, best jeanist likes wolves, GUNHEAD LIKES SKINCARE PRODUCTS AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH HOLY SHIT, blood king likes tomatoes and ectoplasm likes karaoke (that's so cute). These are just some of my favorites but I felt like sharing them, I hope you enjoy 🙈
