Beekeeper Fairy AU

Well, more like bee-helper fairies.

I wasn't really going to share this yet but you can thank @shirajellyfish for encouraging me to show it, even if I'm not yet sure if this is going to go somewhere or is going to stop here like my other projects and AUs.

These sketches are a few months old, I'd like to polish them a little. I was getting into the fairies mood lately so hopefully I'll redraw them soon but y'know I can't promise anything when it comes to drawing.

Some close-ups and more info under the cut + Ferns design for this AU (Now I have no excuse not to make memes between my 3 selfinserts lol)

So the idea of this AU is mainly to be a chill and cozy story. No angst or anything, maybe memories of a couple of bad events from the past, but now everything is healed and they are focusing on living peacefully.

The story would be around Fern who has their own shop of handmade kitchen tools, tableware, tea, coffee etc etc. (all ecofriendly vegan products) in a village. They are also a beekeeper, so she sells honey too at the shop.

One day collecting honey from the hives she finds a tired bee-helper fairy trying to hide. Decides to ignore it not to stress the little guy, but the fairy was still there when they were finished with the bees. So she goes inside the shed for a small cup of water with sugar to give to the fairy.

After that, the fairy followed Fern to the village and now it visits the shop very often. And Fern always has some treats for the fairy.

I have the idea of making an askblog for the AU. People could roleplay as the villagers coming into the shop to buy something and ask about the fairy(ies) and Fern would be the one anwsering. BUT that would require a lot of effort from me, making the drawings and expressions of Fern and the fairies, and have backgrounds from the villagers POV of the shop. And I don't want to do low effort background, I want the world to feel organic.

So idk, maybe I'll do a small comic but I can't assure to keep constant motivation for this.

ALRIGHT, I'm not going to delay it any longer. Here are the references for the elves (featuring selfinsert) that I've been working on since october (It took me like a month but I've been changing and adjusting things). Some parts still look a lil' weird to me, I messed up some proportions but I guess it still works, though the clothes and shapes could vary in the future.

About the elves: Sun and Moon are the elves guardians of a hiden forest where people who get lost end up. So few people has returned from their forest to date.

While Sun will be friendly and play games with you to cheer you up, Moon will chase you down until you go out of breath and drag you to the depths of the forest to not be seen again.

About the human(selfinsert): She went on family vacations for the summer to the village, gets lost in the forest and finds the entrance to the other forest, "somehow" make friends with the elves.

Her name is Fern btw, it totally has nothing to do with my username.

Ref. of the skintones, tattos and solid colors ver. that may help understand the clothes better under cut.

REALIZING

🐺💎This seemed to be just another audition for amateur dancers, although the fact that they’d participate with belly dance gave me expectations. The choreography was fast-paced, with quick changes and demanding a perfect rhythm without losing fluidity, grace, and sensuality.

Of course, due to the way the girls were positioned, at first my attention landed on the six who were in the middle until, as I scanned the entire formation with my gaze, I reached the corner. My heart stopped, just as my eyes did on that dancer placed at the edge of the stage, who, lacking long hair like her fellows, used her long tail to emphasize her steps and stylize her movements.

—“You…?” —I growled with mixed feelings. I didn't even care when Jerry warned me that I squeezed my glass and the hot coffee spilled between my fingers.

This cat was the same insolent one who ran into me at the café a few hours ago and had the audacity to insult me. Now she's here, in my audition room, bewitching me by swaying her body and challenging me with her fiery eyes, even though her future is in my claws. 💎🐺
