Thank you, Alejandro. It’s not that I don’t sing, it’s just that I haven’t performed in a really long time so it’s been pretty much mainly at home, in the car, or in the back at work.

Peyton dropped off the snacks she had with her and headed to Marley's & Bethany's house, she ran her hand through her hair and knew that she had dirt on her, but she didn't care. She glanced behind her, making sure that no one was following her and wiped her tears on her shirt. She was still piecing together what happen between Alejandro and her back at the drive-in, but some parts were foggy to her. She wrapped her arms around her once she arrived to the bakery, sniffed before she made her way up to the apartment. She reached up and knocked on the door, opening that she wasn't disturbing anything.
Marley made a face when she heard a knock at the door. She wasn’t expecting anyone and she certainly hadn’t ordered food. She was exactly dressed for company, wearing pajamas, but she rose from the couch, paused Netflix, and opened the the door.
She didn’t know what she was expecting, but Peyton wasn’t it, especially Peyton looking... off.
“Hey,” she greeted opening the door enough to let the other in. “What’s going on? Are you okay?”
Peyton gave Marley a small smile. "Hey." She replied softly as she walked into the place and kept where she was standing. "Not really, uhm. I can always come back if you and Bethany are in the middle of a movie marathon, since I don't want to interrupt anything. I’m sorry that I didn't text you that I was coming over, like I usually do."
Marley shook her head. “Beth’s not here,” she told Peyton. “It’s just me, so you’re hardly interrupting anything. Come sit.” Marley didn’t know what was causing whatever was going on but she was pretty determined to fix it. “Can I grab you anything? Water? Tea? Cookies, we always have some around here.”
Peyton made a small oh face as she nodded and placed whatever she had next to the door. "Okay." She replied as she tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear and sat down on the couch and hummed a bit. "I'd take some water and cookies? If you guys have, plenty of them."
Marley smiled and nodded. She went into the kitchen and got a glass of water. She brought that out for Peyton before heading back in and grabbing a plate and some of the cookies she’d baked the other day, always needing a fresh supply for situations like this. She brought the plate back and placed it on the coffee table in front of Peyton and sat down next to her. “So what’s going on, Pey? You’re not normally one to show up out of the blue,” she questioned softly. “Not that it’s an issue by any means, I wasn’t doing anything,” Marley added on quickly as a reassurance.
Peyton thanked her when she brought out the water and then the cookies. She slowly nodded as she slipped off her shoes, making herself comfortable. She took a sip of her water, feeling herself calm down a bit more. "Ale and I went to the drive-in, well, before we went, he kissed me which caught me by surprise, even though we kissed before I left for LA. Well, then, all of sudden, things got carried away by us talking about the past and then I don't remember what all was said, except I brought up the ticket for him to LA when I wanted him out there for an art gallery while I was still in undergrad and." She paused a bit, as she ran a hand over her face and leaned a bit onto her elbows. "It felt like he was blaming me things like my dad used to do all the time during my childhood, which he knows, so I ended up in a ball and started to have a panic attack on the dirt and then I pushed him, told him f-you and ended up here." She sniffed a bit as she wiped away the tears with her sleeves a bit. "There's a ton missing, since I kind of blacked out, but that's pretty much what happened."
Marley nodded along as Peyton told her what happened. She reached over and put a comforting hand on her shoulder, or at least she hoped it was comforting. "I'm glad you knew you could come here," she said gently when Peyton finished. "You're always welcome here. Are you okay though, I mean outside of the obvious. What can I do?"
Peyton swallowed some as she fought the urge to end up in a ball like Peyton did with Charlie the other day and nodded slightly. "Me too." She spoke softly after a while, feeling herself calmed down by now. She ran her hands on her pants and shook her head slightly. "Not really, no." She glanced over at the girl and gave her a small shrug. "I’m not entirely sure, since I’m usually not in this position."
Marley hated feeling so helpless when her friend was clearly in pain. "Well then okay," she replied, slapping her go to fake-it-til-you-make-it smile on her face. "We have cookies, we have Netflix, we have wine available, whatever you think you might need, I can make it happen. The ball's all in your court, Pey. We could talk about it, or we can talk about anything but it, I just want to be here for you."
Peyton swallowed some as she rubbed the back of her neck as she closed her eyes and nodded as she listened to her. "I'll take the wine, cookies and Netflix. Then we can talk about it?" She suggested as she glanced over at Marley, grateful for her. "Thank you, Marls."
Marley nodded and hopped off the couch to grab the bottle of white from the fridge and two glasses. When she came back she tossed the controller at Peyton, a universal way of letting her choose what to put on the TV, and she poured them each a glass. She grabbed her glass and got comfortable on the couch again, snagging a cookie too of course. "So Alejandro kissed you?"
Peyton caught the controller and sat down on the floor, after realizing that she had dirt on her ass. She put it on some kind of numb-minding show, which she didn't know the name of it or really cared about it. "Yeah, that he did." She whispered softly as she grabbed her wine, took a sip before she grabbed another cookie.
"Did he give you any sort of hint that he was going to do that?" Marley asked quietly, not really knowing what else to say. She'd never been in that position before. The conversation she'd had with Blaine, which felt forgotten now, was a lot different than a surprise kiss.
Peyton shook her head as she swallowed hard as she tried not to cry at the image. It wasn't like he forced himself on her, it was more of not knowing that he would do that. "N-nope." She whispered softly as she pulled her legs closer to her chest and couldn’t help but close herself off.
"Hey," Marley said quietly, reaching down and placing a hand on Peyton's shoulder. "We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. Like I said, we could talk about anything. Or even nothing if you want." Marley didn't want to push or cause Peyton any more pain than she was clearly already in, that wouldn't be fair to her friend. Her only goal was to make her feel even a little better.
"Okay." Peyton said softly as she buried her face into her hands, wishing that night wouldn’t have happened but it did.  She ran her hands through her hair, let out a shaky breath and leaned against the couch. "I’m going to go Greendale for a few days and I asked your sister to watch the flower shop for me."
"Greendale? Is there something in Greendale, or are you just needing space from ... all of this?" Marley asked, sipping her wine a little more. "And I'm sure Charlie was happy to help." Marley knew running away wouldn't solve Peyton's problems, but in her opinion, sometimes a little distance, at least for a bit, was a good thing.
"I just need some space from, all of this. It got too much too fast and I need a breather." Peyton replied softly as she rested her head on her arms as she looked at her friend. "Yeah and can you make sure she doesn't burn it down with Sebastian in it? I don't need the Smythes family coming after me if something happens to their son." She explained a bit. She needed her head to be clear, at least for a little bit, until she gets things set straight between her and Sebastian, for the most part.
"I can't promise anything," Marley replied with a bit of a smirk. Obviously she and her sister shared feelings about Sebastian, which wasn't surprising. "I can't stop my sister from anything she puts her mind to. But I'm sure she won't if you put it that way to her, she wouldn't want them coming after you either."
Peyton gave her small laugh as she nodded, knowing everyone's feelings about the guy. "Nah, she wouldn’t, just to make sure she doesn't do anything that cause him slight harm." She replied softly as she gotten comfortable on the floor.
Marley didn't want to make that promise. If Sebastian was stupid enough to do something that would cause Charlie to harm him, he would deserve anything she threw at him, hypothetically or literally. "Like I said," she teased, "I cannot control my sister or be held accountable for her actions." Marley was happy to see Peyton smile, it was a relief really. Made her feel like she was finally doing something good.
Peyton nodded as she knew that she was basically having a catch 22 with them watching the flower shop. "I know, but you can control your actions." She said softly.
Marley held her hands up in defense. “Hey, I never said I would do anything,” she laughed. “Just that I can’t control Charlie. I promise I will not harm Sebastian...if he can make the same promise.” Marley was mainly kidding around. She didn't think she had it in her to actually hurt someone.
"Well, I'm sure you guys don’t have to worry about him anyway. Plus, I hardly doubt he would be showing up at the flower shop." Peyton said as she stretched a bit once she stood up and checked to see how much dirt she had on her then sat on the couch.
Marley nodded. "You're probably right," she replied as Peyton sat on the couch again. "Plus, even if he did turn up, if he saw Char, I could imagine him turning right back around and leaving. Bu anyhow, how long do you think you'll be gone for?"
"You know, I haven’t put a date on when I'll be back. So maybe Tuesday or Wednesday? If I might like it, then i might move there." Peyton said as she leaned against the back of the couch and glanced over at Marley then glanced back at the TV. "I was planning on leaving for a few days before the Alejandro stuff happened but now, I guess its great timing."
"No moving allowed," Marley replied quickly. "I'd miss you too much." She glanced at the TV a second before pouring herself another glass, probably her last for the night, and grabbing yet another cookie. "As long as you promise not to move, I promise to make sure Charlie keeps the flower shop standing."
Peyton let out a small laugh at Marley and nodded. "I promise I won't move." She said as she reached for her wine glass and downed it, placed the glass back onto the table. "I promise I wont move and good, because I can’t afford repairs."
"Good. I'm glad we're on the same page." Marley smiled. "So what's the plan for tonight, Pey? Do you need to crash here, because you know you're more than welcome."
Peyton gave her a small smile and let out a breath. "Well, the plan was to cuddle with Alejandro at the drive-in but that's not happening anymore. I know, but I'll figure something out." She said before she grabbed a couple of cookies.
"I'm sorry your night got ruined," Marley told her sincerely. "Men are ... complicated. It's hardly fair." It was true, but she also knew women could be just as complicated.
"It’s alright, I think I'm going walk around until I'm back on the Southside and then go from there. It is, but that's life for you." Peyton gave her a small smile and stood up. "Tell Bethany that I'll be by sometime to talk about an idea that I have." She walked over, slipped on her shoes and grabbed what she had left from the night.
Marley followed Peyton to the door, arms wrapped around herself. "Be safe okay?" She asked gently as the other was putting her shoes on. "And I'll tell Beth that for sure. And make sure you text me when you get home, otherwise I'll probably be awake all night worrying."
"Will do." Peyton said as she gave her a small soft smile and opened up the door a bit. "Thank you for letting me come over here for a few. It means a lot." She waved goodbye to the other girl and started her way home.
